  • lol retarded siren noise at the start

  • Daman.. I was thinking they gonna have drag race to hospital.

  • FDNY Ambo's first, FDNY anything else second, the private body snatcher ambo last

  • Comment removed

  • Are FDNY Medics and Private units all dispatched by the same dispatch center?

  • I believe I read once that ambulances have the highest rate of collisions among emergency vehicles. So if you survive your medical emergency, good luck surviving the ride to the hospital!

  • LOL

  • if two ambulances meet at and intersection with sirens on and no one is around ..

    who the F**k is driving

  • That Awkward Moment When Your Driving An Ambulance In A Crowded Intersection And Meet Another Ambulance Responding And Both Go And Stop At The Same Time Deciding Who Goes First :)

  • nice catch

  • Witch way did he go gorge witch way did he go?!....

  • haha that was really funny

  • Haha they didn't follow the rules of a four-way-stop, the wrong one went first!

  • @h2opolodan11 read the uploader comments before u make a smart Comment

  • rock paper scissors

  • Ones's for Rebecca Black, the other is for Justin Bieber.

  • lol noobs

  • Nice video.I suppose that was your luck time :P

  • Oooooh.....aaaaahhhh...big friggin' deal!

  • -√V”^√\~√♥~V^√V^-

  • MY PATIENT BITCH! trololol

  • proper procedure would have been to both turn around and try again in 5 minuites

  • what no wreck? boring.

  • driver on the left always goes first just like at a stop sign, basic rules of the road guys.

  • @Rivalinfantry actually it's the driver to the right goes first, if you get there at the same time...The FDNY rig had the green light, so as far as emergency response is concerned they go first.

  • @Rivalinfantry Lol its always the driver to the right that goes first.. basic rule fail.. :P Think of it as ''always protect your passenger'' If you were to collide, you should be getting hit in the driver side door, if not, it wasn't your turn

  • @DisturbedForever92 TIL i'm an asshole

  • @Rivalinfantry the driver on the right always has the right of way at an intersection or stop sign. Same thing goes with boating.

  • @45barber1 It was the Carson that Lenox Hill also uses

  • seriously, there is a chase bank on every corner...

  • What siren was the private one using

  • @45barber1 Sounded like a carson siren

  • That was one badass stand off

  • Comment removed

  • WOW! I just wasted 18 seconds of my life that i will never get back yet very intertaining video i laughed.

  • lol =)

  • they were probably rushing to the nearest mcdonalds cuz they just heard the mcrib was back

  • @Bahzad23

    Is it?? WOOHOO!!

  • As an EMT that's happened to me twice here in Los Angeles County except it was the police. The police always gives us the right of way.

  • The Ambulance with the blue stripes was like "ill let real deal go first"

  • No LADIES FIRST

  • that was scary

  • FDNY WENT FIRST BECAUSE THEY HIT THE GAS FIRST HONESTY...LOLOL.....THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME SO MANY TIMES.. WHERE TWO BUSES GET TO THE SAME CONER IN THE CITY.....

  • Would have been really funny if they just sat there waiting for the other guy to go. Then they inch forward and keep stopping abruptly over and over when they think the other ambulance is gonna go!

After about 60 seconds of this they end up running into each other anyway :)

Of course, this is only for the purpose of humor, and it's good this did NOT happen since both vehicles were on an emergency run to begin with :)

  • that siren at the beginning was weird and epic at the same time lol

  • That was just as much good timing as the other video with Rescue 1 and St. Vincents meeting at the intersection =D

  • only in new york would that happen. lol

  • Haha, what are the ods of that?

  • No, it's because his truck was more colorful o.o

    At least they didn't crash...

  • Red goes first. YAY! XD who cares, sometimes you don't need to follow rules - ambulance drivers are some of the best drivers out there. Unlike police, whose precision immobilisation technique.. 1 it's not precise 2 It doesn't always immobilise the target vehicle and 3 it doesn't seem to follow a set of rules so can't be referred to as a "technique" even. - I like the old-school method of blowing out the back tyres with a shotgun, I think that was more precise, and terryfying to the perp.

  • FDNY: you go!

    Other ambulance: No You Go!

    LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Lol that was pretty neat.

  • 0:16 allright!!! lolol

  • Two Ambulance may have met at the intersection, but my question is, did they exchange numbers and start getting to know eachother better?

  • How about, who has priority?

  • @virginianboy1012 Who has the green light , has the right of way in a code 3

  • Lol Awkward...

  • @RandomGuyThing2 haha yeahhh

  • FDNY is the best of the best xD

  • MAJORTRIADZ = FRESH UK HIP HOP :)

  • The private was likely doing an e-transport, and the FDNY truck going to a real job. They are in NYC, and FDNY has the right of way. Hence everything was textbook. The traffic lights don't come into play, nor standard "right goes first" rules. Both had different tones, both rolled slow while drivers cleared BOTH directions (look close) and the priority truck took it. GOOD JOB!

  • @egolpe Wrong... FDNY does NOT have the right of way over other emergency vehicles. NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law governs the operation of ALL Emergency Vehicles in the State of New York. If you look VERY closely at the NON FDNY Ambulance, you will see a patch on the door which identifies it as a "FDNY 911 Participating Member". That means it is a Hospital Ambulance contracted to do 911 assignments.

  • @egolpe Also.... Traffic lights do in fact come into play... At a traffic light controlled intersection, the green light has the right of way when two emergency vehicles are entering the intersection at the same time. At an intersection with stop signs, the vehicle on the right has the right of way over the other if two emergency vehicles enter that intersection at the same time. As the traffic lights were out of view in this video, we can not see who in fact had the right of way.

  • @devildoc225 If you look closely when it pans up as the FDNY ambulance goes through he had the green light. So looks like you were right on the money there, LT. Everything went as planned, looks like your vehicle training worked like a charm. haha

  • @egolpe I am a Lieutenant in FDNY, and I am also a State Certified Motor Vehicle Instructor Trainer.

  • wow what are the odds? and i thought the guy on the right was supposed to go first if u meet at the same time. seriously guys get it together.

  • @creamyfilling102 I think the FDNY ambulance went first because they had the green light.

  • @lasnerty They have lights + siren , i think they musnt look at traffic lights. FDNY rules xD

  • @lasnerty Correct. If it were a stop sign or all lights red then it would be "right-of-way", but since the light was green one way, the green light had priority.

  • @lasnerty I think they went first because the other one didn't. He was prolly thinkin "screw it, if ain't gonna go I will".

  • @lasnerty There's no traffic lights color for them :) But anyway the FDNY rules :D

  • @creamyfilling102 im pretty sure last time i checked the first guy to an intersection ahs the right of way once the other guy stops...so they did it correctly

  • good job clearing the intersection on both part good driving

  • I just LOL'd when I saw them meet and stop for each other, how ironic

  • "you go first.". "No...you first.". "Nope, I must insist you go first." "Please, go...it would be rude of me if I didn't let you go first." "C'mon, you were here first..."

  • @starmedic Lol! As I read your comment, I could hear the chipmunks from looney tunes!

  • Just like the two Engines, who crashed into each other.

    /watch?v=vml4ue5NXbE

But a few weeks ago i heard that nobody was killed.

  • I thought priority was for the person at your right ..

  • At least they didn't have the problem these firetrucks had;

    watch?v=M8JaL8sY4pE

  • yeild the right of way?

  • WTF IT'S ALL WRONG! The closest ambulance should've passed first...

  • Fucking sirens are amazing. I had a fucking orgasm when I heard those. Manuals ftw?

  • lol

  • Haha, how often does that happen?

  • BRAVO! NO CONFRONTATIONS! HANDLED LIKE PROS!

  • The one near to the cameraman should've passed first(right arm priority rule) but let the other go that's why they waited for a bit there. But at a second notice the one closer to the cameraman stopped it's sound signals so it lost the privilege to pass.(a vehicle is considered prioritary only if it has both signals[visual+acoustic] on).

But yeah. Props to both drivers for driving carefully. This can happen in any junction and at any time.

  • the one near to the cameraman should've passed first but let the other go that's why they waited for a bit there

  • I wouldn't want to be in a private ambulance, I rather be in a public ambulance.

  • lol i think that is normal out in New York .. but out here in the county its aint .

  • no training for witch guy goes 1st

  • shitshitshitshit WHO THE FUCK STOPS?!?!?!?!?!?

    ahahahahaha

  • lol!!

who has the righter right of way?

  • THIS IS cool

  • Yea good drivers I stop a at an intersection of 5 sec then go on green student driver

  • Good job to the drivers, they both saw each other coming. That's why you never just blast through intersections like in the movies.

  • I was in NYC in 1992 when two fire trucks responding code 3 from the SAME fire station ran into each other. It happens.

  • The one that had the green light should have been the one to continue thru without stopping.

  • @TheChampionInMe Just because you have a green light when going Code 3, you should still use caution in the event that an idiot runs a red light.

  • Only in New York :-)

  • Haha they seemed like they were confused on who was going first.

  • lmao..wtf is up with his siren..sounds like sht..then it sounds good.

  • MAL,EN ESTE CASO TAMBIEN VA RA REGLA DE MANO DCHA

  • Ghostbusters

  • at least they did crash like the 2 firetrucks did

  • What the hell? that siren sounded weird!

  • AKWARD!

  • cool :DD

  • Lol well done.. at least they didn't crash like these two firetrucks:

    /watch?v=Ps88H9CCc6U

  • Good to see that both drivers slowed/stopped at the intersection. This happened to me once while driving "priority 1". Luckily we saw each other and continued on our way. Be safe out there.

  • Nice catch! I came to an intersection at which a fire truck was arriving.

I shut off lights, also silences siren, to signal the engineer to continue. Better the massive truck continue than ruin his momentum. Then I followed in the path he cleared. Think he had the green signal because he has Opticom traffic signal preemptor. (Strobe light which causes traffic signal to cycle in favor of the fire truck.) Lanes with green to go yellow, then red just like a normal signal cycle.

  • Do they teach this stuff?

  • hmm how often does this happen

  • creepy sounding siren....

  • lol

  • Jo well done and this is an example of responsible driving by emergency personnel !

  • FDNY first of course...

  • yea they got a lot of washout on that. luckily they were alert drivers

  • Are there private ambulances in the usa ? What does that mean..not in europe

  • In the US, instead of being run by the government, ambulances are generally operated by either local fire departments, or by private companies or hospitals. In some areas, only the fire departments provide ambulance services, in other areas, a county, city, town, etc. may contract with a private ambulance company to provide service. The private ambulance companies make their money by billing the patient and their insurance for their services.

  • then that must suck if you have to pay when you get hurt, where i'm from in canada my area only has one ambulance service and it is free, but it also sucks cus i heard we dont have very many ambulances

  • @lasnerty you forgot to add how fire transport is much better though ;)

  • @386obc oh I didn't forget ;), seeing how I work for a private company.

  • @lasnerty damn you

  • @lasnerty Don't forget that in some cases, a city may have both. For example in LA, LAFD Rescue Ambulances make 911 calls while AMR and other private companies only handle hospital to hospital transport.

  • @lasnerty In my area, because we have an all volunteer fire department, a private company is contracted out so there is always an ambulance on call and ready to go so you don't have to wait for the volunteers to mobilize.

  • @lasnerty In my city our local FD we run EMS and the city next to me is privet

  • @lasnertywe used to have that hear in Canada but as of I think it was 2000 the government downloaded all EMS responsibilities and services to the cities in Ontario and other provinces now all the private companies do is run non code patents basically they just do non emergency transfers from hospital to hospital no code 3 runs maybe once a year we get a patient go code on us during a transfer and they let us run the reds but it’s rare

  • @lasnerty - In my county (right outside of NYC) the Police Department runs the ambulance service and they have only one EMT in the Ambulance. A Police Officer has to drive the Ambulance to the hospital.

  • @lasnerty So if I dont got money and cant pay they let me die?

  • @NeoJD No that woud be illegal. From where I am it's illegal to require payment during the service. Insurance is billed first and then the patient gets billed whatever is left over.

  • @lasnerty Oh ok, In my country here if they dont have insurrance the state pays the service. But most ppl here have a health Insurance anyway. Just the drunk / alcoholic /homeless ppl sometimes dont.

  • @lasnerty You're both right on the ambulance payment issue. A state/county run ambulance is required to pick you up and take you to the hospital(unless their protocals allow medic initiated refusal). Private ambulances have the right to refuse transport if they do not have a gaurantee of payment, so companies like AMR have contracts with the state or county to gaurentee if the paitent doesn't pay they still get their money.

  • @superdylan3000 I don't know how it is in the Netherlands, but in Germany there are besides German and Bavarian Red Cross, Malteser, Johanniter, Samariter and DLRG many private ambulance services like MKT, RKT, Aicher Ambulanz, KTOW, GARD, Promedic, AGS, SMH, KBA, Ambulanz Millich, H&P Ambulance and many more. In some cities the fire department runs some (or in Hamburg all) ambulances.

  • i was always wondering the same thing, i'm from canada and i went to california and i seen alot of different ambulances

  • lol 00:9 no you go first i insist

  • @superdylan3000 you have the same in Germany. Like our DRK (red-cross), or the ASB, Johaniter etc pp, this are humanity organisations, which are running ambulances as well (together with our fire-departments)

  • @superdylan3000 in Europe u guys have free health care.. i think.. well they do in France at least so u guys just have like one main hospital brand type thing so all the ambulances are the same. here we pay for health insurance so when we call 911 they send an ambulance from a certain hospital and what the other guy said

  • @superdylan3000 pretty much a private ambualnce is working for the local hospital and fire ambualnce is well for the local fire dept., both are equaliy good as they both save lives

  • @superdylan3000 There are plenty of private ambulances in Europe. In Paris for example many private hospitals have their own ambulances and there are many ambulance companies to transport patients though they do not respond to medical or trauma emergencies.

  • @superdylan3000 there are plenty of countries in Europe that have private ambulances.

  • @superdylan3000 In Poland there are some private ambulances

  • Now thats something ya dont see everyday nice catch :)

  • HAHA thats funny!!

  • Whichever emergency vehicle has the green light has the right of way.

  • LOL!!!!

My question is how u know which 1 should give way first? lol

  • @B1234BP :

  • ooooooooooo bgitu... hhhhmm.. kl misal polisi ktemu polisi d intersection gmn?

    kl polisi sama pemadam gmn?hehe

  • @bren29

actually it could. if they had same frequency. but more than likely they dont. but yea. haha

  • no one heard of "right of way"?

  • @Fritzw911

yeah i was wondering who would have the right of way

  • lol. on the radio "would you move!, ok, no me first, okay go head, no actually no you go, no you i insist, no you, noo you go, god damnt! im going!!!! the end

  • ahahaha

  • @SuaveTy

Of course that'd actually never work out.

  • the purple NYU bus IS BLS, the FDNY truck is an unknown provider level from what we can seen, they may be giving way for that reason, either way, they both got to their destinations safely ....

  • yeah im guessing the FDNY was an ALS and thats why it went first

  • @lendog07 not nessisarily

  • oh and i love that low carson manual (: Sounds so nice

  • @StupidVideos220 no it doesn't. I hate it. I like the Whelen.

  • who had the carson?

  • @FireCadet12

    The purple/white BLS amublance.

  • They only went first because they had the green

  • hahahahahahahaha that predictable and funny. it

predictable that the F.D.N.Y. ambulance goes first because they are I MEAN ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is why you SLOW at intersections...props to both drivers

  • after you, no after you, no no after you, no i insist

  • Comment removed

  • allright

  • well i wonder how often that happens?>>. and do ya just signal out the window or something for the other guy to go? haha...NYFD probly better siren

  • usually the guy with the green light goes first

  • The FDNY truck had green light!

  • no it didn't
