@gmanzeroalpha So? You're losing nav info (which are part of the flight instruments) while changing a silly intercom setting. It just should not do that. In turbulence it takes too long with possibly touching the wrong item on screen. Pilot distracted (think mountain areas in imc at night on approach to an airport) and there you go. Game over.
@flexairz What was my question? How long does it take to change a comms panel setting? Your telling me that losing Nav for maybe 3 to 5 seconds is a dangerous thing? What did you do when charts are being used. Were you staring at that every second. Oh and by the way night/ IMC. isn't much different, when you can't see out you can't see out. Also, in mountains I tend to stay a good 2k to 3k feet above them just so that a 3 to 5 second lose of concentration doesn't kill me. hmmm?
@gmanzeroalpha I was making a point about have all info in one box, hiding under touchscreen knobs which could be difficult to reach in turbulence in certain circumstances. And crucial info disappearing while changing a silly intercom setting. Never mind your question. That's not the point here. Read my remark again.
that's a lot of coins

Btw: I do NOT want my navigation screen to disappear when changing intercom settings...

@flexairz How long does it take to change comms.
What you can't look away from your map for that long?
Even if IFR, its not a flight instument its a nav instrument

@flexairz ,, are you flying mach 25 that you will get lost in 2 seconds lol.... no one stares at the nav page all the time anyways

@Earssss That's not the point. Secondary non essential information should never ever replace essential information.

Touch screens? Think turbulence!

And people put in wrong info with knobs...

Am i the only one who finds rotary knobs quicker and easier than touch screens? I REALLY don't like touch screen, much less on my avionics.

@CPTDJB I do agree touch screens can be inaccurate and most people accidentally press the wrong button.
