  • the best version. "No further correspondence shall be entered into"

  • Interesting. A whole verse has been left out - a key part of the song - it's in the versions sung by women (e.g. Warwick, Shaw). "We were so much in love ... " etc. Why? Did those words somehow sound ... unmasculine? They form a different part of the melody, which of course couldn't be cut, so here that part is a wordless instrumental section. Mysterious.

  • @jarabaa Yea is that the reason or did the just want an instrumental break

  • French version by Claude François.

  • The lack of bridge is obvious. However, it's cool to hear this with a male vocal. (Nothing beats the Warwick or Shaw versions, though). x

  • Mick Green on Guitar---- Great

  • God, I thought it was Aretha Franklin I remember singing this, although she did sing it; in 1965 it's these guys I remember. they were great! How restrained the melody and beat and yet an undercurrent of longing.

  • Beautiful version , its one of the best!!!!! Love this group and 1965, the best times.

  • my brother and I listening to this in the early 60s. good Times

  • omg, this reminds me of my father!

he was a sailor, and everytime he went away, he sung (song, don't know how to say it) this song and told me that he came back soon..

  • This song rules. This is the ONLY version really.
