man,sean bean gets no respect in this genre.acting wise and how it turns out for him in every plot.that being said i loved the movie.after seeing valhalla rising i thought i would never try out a low budget midevil swords type of shindig flic ever again.but i had recently saw game of thrones and was like "sean bean,long hair, swords!once again he did not dissapoint.not a perfect movie but the way it all resolves is honestly worth it.

not a horror movie fyi guys. I saw on netflix it was a "supernatural thriller" or something like that but it's actually a period piece. There is the supernatural bit to it but it isn't a zombie movie or something. I thought it was fantastic. Acting is awesome, story is awesome, and that part with the Flagellants was my favorite part. They just come out of the mist in such an etherial way and their chanting makes it dreamlike. I'm still looking for a movie like it.

I just watched this and boy, what a wonderful film this is!!! Shows you just how utterly sick and fucked up christians were back then... and STILL are! I recommend this to school children everywhere. And if European christians didn't live in such disgusting and filthy condidtions back then, there never would have been a "black death" to begin with!
