Dude, one question(...or more): Why should I care what phone you use if you don't care what I'm using? Therefore,I don't give a dead rat on what you're saying ;) Pointless video...
By the way, why the heck are you so agitated ? Why do you insult everyone who is not using iphone? Frustration, maybe? ;) For a "geek" you seem to be narrow minded when comes to tech.
Because when it crashes it goes into safe mode. And yea I'm jailbroken on my 3GS too. It's nice...but its not perfect. one time I downloaded something from Cydia and the phone got bricked. And there was no way to fix it.
I love my iPhone, its the only thing to come out of Apple that I have really enjoyed. I own a Macbook Pro but its not for me. Also, I've been Jailbroken for 4 years across my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 and never had an issue. The people having problems are just doing stupid things. If you have a serious problem all you need to do is restore from DFU mode, which is something every iPhone user needs to know how to do.
Yo Chris, the same way u switched browsers to chrome to be on he so called "bleeding edge"... where you using chrome b4 it became what it was? Idk if you know what the android's potential is, but i know u know how young it is and the exponential growth it is making. How can you use " 6:18 " "the week b4 that" as an insult and not a complement? I have much to say about this debate but I'm sorry my time is limited.
@Its9874 My iPhone 4 has been jail broken for over a year. And never once has it crashed. Also what the fuck does putting the spring board into safe mode have to do with this?
If I were to get an Android, is there a way to have my music, podcasts, etc...all synced up automatically? I ask because that will be a big factor in me choosing one or the other. I have to deal with some clunky interface, I'll just end up continue using my old iPod, thus defeating one big reason for me to get a smart phone in the first place.
"jailbreaking causes problems"..amen to that...i learned the hard way.....nowadays there are so many great free apps theres not a lot of need too....and good apps deserve to be paid for....most good paid for apps arent expensive anyway....no to jailbreaking.....doug out.
ill stick with my LTE rooted Htc thunderbolt with an Undervolted Kernel, and OC @ 1.2 GHZ that gets 2 days of battery life, oh, and an open platform with FLASH, that works quite well.
@halo27legend i definitely agree but i will say, if you like specs and you want to have the best, its going to be impossible. but i do agree with the statement though
phone specs are relevant- how many n95's do you see running android or even Symbian properly? The more CPU and GPU power you can fit in the more shiny menus. Which are what people want. They may not understand the difference between a arm 7 and a I5 2500k but they want shiny menus. That is why the iPhone succeeded - other phones were more advanced but not as pretty.
Thats nice and all that theres a new Android device every week, but thats because Google ALLOWS the OS to be used on devices. They don't have it locked down like Apple does with the OS for the iPhone. Thats why you don't see a billion Apple devices, just your standard iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc. etc.
I got an iphone4 for the first time last September, returned it after a week.
It was such a good phone, but due to the fact it needed case to cover the antenna problems, on a $1000 dollar phone, was utterly ridiculous!!!! Furthermore Apple actually blamed the user for holding the phone the wrong way, what an insult to their customers.
I got an android phone soon after and I’ve never been happier, thats not to say i wont get the iphone5 if the antenna problem is fixed.

Weren't you saying that why would I want to use the iPhone when it first came out when the Windows Mobile phone you had at the time worked fine for you. I think you need to try other phones out for an extended period of time before jugging them.
The Nexus line is the same experience of hardware and software combination as Apple making the iPhone hardware and the iOS software.
I remember in my 10th birthday, my dad bought me an i-mate PDA2k running Windows pocket PC. I was satisfied with it, until I used the iPhone. I was blown away by how responsive it was compared to my i-mate. I must admit, after using the iPhone, I hated my device and ended up selling it to a friend of mine just because I wanted an iPhone.
People are going to have their preference but for me Android blow the iphone away. Android has matured and is just as stable as the iphone. Android also have almost every app or something comparable to the apple market. Plus Android phone's tipcally are more faster than iphone's especially the new ones. Not to mention the availability of Flash. Lets face it... Flash isnt going anywhere anytime soon.
@lockergnome I don't care what smartphone you buy, as you said it's your money. But surely it's about the marriage of software and hardware which comes together to create the ultimate user experience?
As you said that you could have the best hardware in the world it wouldn't matter if you had crappy software , well surely this work the same way? i.e you could have the best software in the world but if the hardware cant perform then it's software/OS is pointless no ?
No for nothing but I got an Android device and an iPhone and I'm really consider to go back to iPhone just because controlling everything is taking more time that I really need too, like Android but I hate that every month there is a new a device and I always want to have the latest gadget
That's completely disregarding the fact that the playbook offers a less polished user experience. I'm talking strictly speed and responsiveness, which specs are supposed to be the benchmark for. Specs d
chris how do you get paid by working on the computer like what do you do for a living like do you leave your house for work or you work at home and get paid how do you do how can i make home on the computer i am think going into sell beats online i can making money doing that
I'd love to see an anti-Apple douchebag argue that specs are so important, when a 1 year old iPad using an A4 somehow is magically smoother and snappier and faaar more responsive than the BlackBerry playbook, which uses a dual core and 1 gb Ram. I used the playbook today, and almost laughed at how unresponsive and choppy the most basic of tasks were, like just scrolling in the browser. The iPhone 4 even launches apps faster than the playbook
I'm not 100% sure why a video like this is necessary, I mean this is something I doubt many people would disagree with. I mean the reason I use Android is for the seamless Google integrations, from Google Voice to Google Navigation, everything just works the way I want it to.
Speaking of "The Specs"... Look at Nintendo 64. I waited for years because I was told it would be so much more powerful, and no loading times, and look at Mario 64, etc.. and got that instead of a Playstation, and I still regret it. I'm not saying N64 didn't have some great games, but PSX had TONS of great games, including some of my favorite games I never got to own. The N64 was programmed in a way that making games was hard so not many games were made. PSX games were easy to make + free demos!
i think BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be good offers a 1.2 GHz CPU, 2.8-inch touchscreen with "Liquid Graphics," 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, and a spacious QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry die-hards will love it, but can it compete with the Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7, and webOS devices that are coming out this summer? i think it will be great for blackberry fanboys
@holyroller3178 People say LCD vs LED but "LED screens" are still LCD! The LCD screen is the same! The LEDs only replace the CCFL backlight tube behind the LCD screen. Whoever tells you LED is automatically better is wrong. Many of can be but often times you can find a non LED backlit screen that's better than LED. ie a modern cheap LED monitor isn't going to produce better picture, more accurate color or faster response times than a high end non LED. Don't just assume LED is always better.
Good points all good points. I think that the person who got me out of apple hating was Lamar with his "I don't hate apple I just hate the religion" thing. Made me realize that I was involved with the religion of hating apple. That's not rational in the least bit. I've got an ipod touch right now and love it. By the end of the year I will likely inherit my father's Droid X. Will really love that as well.
there is pretty much only one thing I would want on a iDevice... Memory card slot. even if ONLY thing it could do is bring in or put out pictures video and sound
Specifications help to make this so called, tangible "experience" bandwagon that everyone has catapulted themselves onto and no one can tell me otherwise. Technology should always strive to make rapid strides in advancement, it's ideals such as this one that prevent that from becoming the defacto norm. If I'm to pay several hundred dollars for something, it needs to warent such a deposit. To me this is simple logic, can't my phone have mini usb and diverse applications to?
I Haven't owned an iPhone. And I have no desire to. But I am not going to flame on Chris for wanting one :P. I happen to love my Nokia N900. With a full OS on there XD
@lockergnome I'm sure you'll make a video tomorrow why specs are sooooo important to user experience. 'cause Chris, that's just who you are. a blabber mouth without belief.
Well I must say that jailbreaking is one of the best things you can do to any iDevice as long as you know how to use it, and I'm 100% sure that you could chris, I never had an idevice and I know how to perfectly use jailbroken idevices.
buddy as a geek nobody is forcing you to do or buy anything, we are just telling you how dumb you are for buying apple. No wonder you get angry if we poke in your air bubble of shit. And if I have to pay your bills your wife has to perform so head service on a monthy basis.
@dvdmike007 Until the next version of Android comes out and you don't get the update because the carrier blocks it, or you upgrade to a new phone and have to re-buy applications. I have no problem with Android or other (arguably better) hardware but those two issues are deal breakers for me.
@wilsontech1 Very true, but it's really plenty of phone for me, so there's no reason to get pissed off about it. Even though I'm a fan of Android I must agree with Chris with what he says about Android coming out with "the next best thing" every other week.

I like how your video's are so shit now that hits have gone down and down to the length that no one sponsers you anymore hahah, man stop bitching all the time and acting like you know everything and do some videos that are interesting and maybe you will get some hits again!
Jailbreaks add stability along as your careful and you get more features so why not try it you can't break it if you mess up you just restore your backup...
me? i use now android phones,i never liked nokia, but i just hate iphone, because for me its useless, its just a fashion acessory, and since i dont follow that stuff and have my own style,i dont give a crap for apple products.I use android since day one.And used sharp phones for lots of time.
Actually when you said "its your money," thats not true Chris. It's everybodys money because once you spend that money its gonna go and spread through the whole country.
I have both and I have had great user experience with both the iPhone and the Android phone. But when it came down to it. My choice goes to the Android. I'm much happier with the Android. It all just comes down to like you say: User experience. Also, I'm getting older and the 4.3" screen is much easier on my eyes than the iphone's 3.5" screen. It's amazing what a difference a larger screen makes and how that adds to the user experience!
I've jailbroken my device and i love it. Never had any problems with it. I still kept the base ui and love what the jailbreak offers. Specifically lockinfo. That is something that apple needs to and probably will incorporate in iOS 5.
your problem is that regardless of any better experience that is on offer, you will not look at it objectively and determine if that new phone is better. its very simple, apples problem is their approach of "if it aint broke then dont fix it" which results in a operating system that has seen only a couple revisions in the last 4 years and this has stopped apple from innovating and made ios just utterly boring. just look at the notifications and the lackluster ui of ios.
But that has nothing to do with the platform itself. The iOS Apps are better looking as well, but then its down to the developers to design the UI & make it as user friendly as possible. As a platform, IMHO, Android has come a long way since 1.5 & u could actually have an awesome time with it if u know how to use it.
How can u say anything about Android when u have not really spent a considerable amount of time with Android? I used iPhone for around 2 years & have switched to HTC Desire HD recently because my iPhone got stolen, but to be honest, apart from the battery life I am actually enjoying the Android experience. I won't say more than iOS, but not less either. Granted that I miss a few apps that I used to have on my iPhone 4, which are not available for Android.
If anything ever goes wrong with jailbreaking (which it won't unless you're one of them dicks who think they're a know it all) you can just put it into safe mode and it'l run like a non jailbroke phone.
To be bluntly honest, the overwhelming majority will just go towards the phone with the shiniest features or the greatest hype, making all the "fanboyism," if you want to call it that, rather moot. The thing about Android and Windows phones right now is that there is more variety as far as designs go, as well as pricing (ie AT&T was just offering the HTC Aira for $0.01 just a couple months ago).
I went for a beer yesterday at a local bar and I was keeping tabs of the Canadian election on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S). The bartender asked me if it was Android and wanted to see it because his friend kept giving him a hard time about his iPhone 4. I said that his friend sounded a little fanboyish and reassured him that the iPhone didn't suck. I asked why he bought the iPhone, and he said that it was because it was what he heard of the most....con't....
@avenuePad I said "fair enough". I handed him my phone because he seemed intrigued and he really like the screen and the responsiveness - he did like the idea of being able to play Flash. To make a short story long, I simply said that WP7, iPhone and Android are all great, mature products - WP7 in one or two more updates ;). When your contract is finished just take a look around at the different options. If you stay with iPhone, great. If not, great. Like Chris said - it's what serves you best.
after switching to mac and iphone I live better life.. I started developing iOS apps, making videos, etc... and I dont have to waste hours and hours on shitty windows
Jailbreaking may not really be "for my grandma", but it ain't nuclear physics either. And how hard it is to simply restore the device if anything goes wrong (which in my experience of jailbreaking every single "jailbreakable" iOS since version 4.1, quite rare).
@Tr1pTr0p ...jailbreaking does cause problems but helps a lot problems now i do jailbreak and love it but unlocking and jailbreaking does cause problems
i currently have the HTC Desire HD (Android), it was heads up between the Htc and the iphone. I choose to go with the htc over the iphone for a variety of reasons (the cost was not a factor)
i felt the htc would be best for me simple as, i have nothing against the iphone and wouldn't care if i was forced to change. The htc works for me thats not to say an iphone wouldnt but for the time being im happy with my choice/
bit extreme with the latest and greatest android talk tbh - different manufactures pump out phones of differing qualities for a market that demands it. samsung s2 is the current king and will probably be for a while...i used to have 3 iphones got bored of them tbh, fed up of the restrictions forced upon us by apple...but some people like that./
@TazZerT pretty clear no, im not going to get into a discussion about this its pointless especially on spamfesttube. i moved away from apple for my own reasons and im glad i did.
Apple makes such mediocre products. They shouldn't be considered the benchmark for anything. iPod is overpriced (I could get the same thing for $50). There are better phones out there than the iPhone. iMacs = I have to buy a new one every year to upgrade. I have an Android tablet that is just as good as the first gen iPad for under $300.
But really, you can't compare the overall iPhone experience to an Android phone because, as you know, Google really has no say on the hardware. And at around 6:00 you kind of had a plus for Android phones... It means that they are constantly getting better, where as iPhones only have upgrades once every two years or so.
@korwinblue Right.... Assuming you mean the iPod CLASSIC, I guess maybe $250 has to be overpriced for 160GB of storage... And that must mean that for the stupidly small size of the other ones, it MUUUUST be overpriced... Right?
@korwinblue I have a 1.33ghz 12" Powerbook G4, it's about 5 years old at the moment, I bought it used so 3 of those years are put on by me. I maybe about next year I will replace it, but as my main laptop it still serves me well.
As for ipods I think they are decently priced for what they offer, I personally dont own though. I picked a Cowon S9 for my main media player. Comparing Cowon to Apple, the D3 is close to the iPod touch in features & is similarly priced (D3 is an android media player)
Dude, one question(...or more): Why should I care what phone you use if you don't care what I'm using? Therefore,I don't give a dead rat on what you're saying ;) Pointless video...

i think BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be good offers a 1.2 GHz CPU, 2.8-inch touchscreen with "Liquid Graphics," 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, and a spacious QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry die-hards will love it, but can it compete with the Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7, and webOS devices that are coming out this summer? i think it will be great for blackberry fanboys

chris wich montor screen is better LCD OR LED CAN YOU DO A YOUTUBE VIDEO ON THATS
holyroller3178 10 months ago
@holyroller3178 LED screens are inherently better, especially when it comes contrast and power requirements.
PsionicArchon 10 months ago

PsionicArchon 10 months ago

dvdmike007 10 months ago
@dvdmike007 Until the next version of Android comes out and you don't get the update because the carrier blocks it, or you upgrade to a new phone and have to re-buy applications. I have no problem with Android or other (arguably better) hardware but those two issues are deal breakers for me.

It's amazing what a difference a larger screen makes and how that adds to the user experience!

pcfix411 10 months ago
your problem is that regardless of any better experience that is on offer, you will not look at it objectively and determine if that new phone is better. its very simple, apples problem is their approach of "if it aint broke then dont fix it" which results in a operating system that has seen only a couple revisions in the last 4 years and this has stopped apple from innovating and made ios just utterly boring. just look at the notifications and the lackluster ui of ios.

But that has nothing to do with the platform itself. The iOS Apps are better looking as well, but then its down to the developers to design the UI & make it as user friendly as possible. As a platform, IMHO, Android has come a long way since 1.5 & u could actually have an awesome time with it if u know how to use it.
akashnu 10 months ago

I have Iphone 3GS for work and my personal choice is an HTC Hero.
Yes the experiance matter tremendosly, but an experiance cannot be delivered without hardware to empower it.
But then again if the OS i awefull, it doesn't stand a chance, Symbian can go to hell.

I asked why he bought the iPhone, and he said that it was because it was what he heard of the most....con't....
avenuePad 10 months ago
@avenuePad I said "fair enough". I handed him my phone because he seemed intrigued and he really like the screen and the responsiveness - he did like the idea of being able to play Flash. To make a short story long, I simply said that WP7, iPhone and Android are all great, mature products - WP7 in one or two more updates ;). When your contract is finished just take a look around at the different options. If you stay with iPhone, great. If not, great. Like Chris said - it's what serves you best.

Jailbreaking may not really be "for my grandma", but it ain't nuclear physics either. And how hard it is to simply restore the device if anything goes wrong (which in my experience of jailbreaking every single "jailbreakable" iOS since version 4.1, quite rare).

i felt the htc would be best for me simple as, i have nothing against the iphone and wouldn't care if i was forced to change.

Apple makes such mediocre products. They shouldn't be considered the benchmark for anything. iPod is overpriced (I could get the same thing for $50). There are better phones out there than the iPhone. iMacs = I have to buy a new one every year to upgrade. I have an Android tablet that is just as good as the first gen iPad for under $300.

lockergnome 10 months ago 10
@lockergnome Drugs are bad, Chris...
But really, you can't compare the overall iPhone experience to an Android phone because, as you know, Google really has no say on the hardware. And at around 6:00 you kind of had a plus for Android phones... It means that they are constantly getting better, where as iPhones only have upgrades once every two years or so.

XxMEVANSxX 10 months ago
@korwinblue Right.... Assuming you mean the iPod CLASSIC, I guess maybe $250 has to be overpriced for 160GB of storage... And that must mean that for the stupidly small size of the other ones, it MUUUUST be overpriced... Right?
DeltaPhi79 10 months ago
@korwinblue I have a 1.33ghz 12" Powerbook G4, it's about 5 years old at the moment, I bought it used so 3 of those years are put on by me. I maybe about next year I will replace it, but as my main laptop it still serves me well.
As for ipods I think they are decently priced for what they offer, I personally dont own though. I picked a Cowon S9 for my main media player. Comparing Cowon to Apple, the D3 is close to the iPod touch in features & is similarly priced (D3 is an android media player)
