  • Excuse my ignorance but are you blind?

  • Another great vid. Hats off to you :)

  • According to Wikipedia, it looks like that Brackie Mastne brew you had is 5.8% abv. Definitely gonna have to find some that. Cheers!

  • Hey Craig, any thoughts on how to deal with chill haze?? Thanks

  • Hey Craig! First of all I'd like to thank you for your videos. They are the main reason I dared order my Beerkit(Coopers). I just started my first batch tonight and I THINK I did it right, real excited to taste the result. Anyways, I got one Q that needs a A and you are the person I feel is qualified to answere it. I'm keeping the fermenter(the "beer making bucket") in a spare room we have with no windows. Does the fermenting process require any kind of light to work or can I keep it dark?

  • @DrTransDickables Keeping it dark is the best thing you can do. Daylight can "skunk" the beer. So brew on and enjoy.

    Cheers!

  • I love this man. It's obvious he has a passion for what he does, and that passion rubs off easily. My cooper's kit should be here any day now..

  • great vid Craid! Looking forward to you starsan vid. Very curious since thats what I use as primary sanitizer

  • Hey Craig, I'm looking forward to your future reviews on the beers you make with the ingredients you received. Cheers!

  • Mmm,I love Shiner. Great little town, even better beer. They make a Black Lager if you can get it.

  • Oh yeah, just wanted to say the reason why the head was probably staying around so long on that beer is they added wheat malt to the recipe. Wheat malt always gives tremendous white foamy heads that like to hang around. So next time you're brewing a lager try adding some wheat malt =).

  • Just found your channel tonight! You rock man, I'm gonna start brewing my own beer starting next week. Have you brewed any Hefewiezen? I want to try the coopers version.

  • @Nachito667 I just brewed a hefe although I made the recipe myself based off others.

The yeast is very important in a hefeweizen, so if you want all those complex flavours like clove, citrus and banana notes I'm not sure you'd get that with the dried yeast they'll provide in a kit. I personally used the Wyeast 3068 although it's quite pricey over dried yeast. If your going for a more neutral hefe like an Erdinger however, dried yeast might be fine. GL on whatever you choose =)

  • Whats the news on the T-shirt front, I cannot find that video anymore

  • @supervascular That video is now off line and I am tallying up all the votes.

  • Craig, you cant possibly DRINK all the beer you make right? Do you give away some to your friends?? Man I would absolutley LOOVE if I could actually get a Craigtube beer in the mail. Maybe I can send you some artwork and we can work something out.

  • craigtube is ranked #1 in Poland :)

  • Shiner beer is made just a couple of hours away from me. cool to see you wearing the shirt. also a great beer.

  • The bubbles (snow storm) you see rising up is just carbon dioxide coming out of suspension. You can see the same thing happen in a coke. The head has more to do with proteins and whatnot. cheers :-)

  • Its funny you say that about Canada not having amazing beer. Thats how I tell if a person is a real beer drinker. Most people in the States that dont know good beer thing that Canadian beer is thicker and has more alcohol. Anyway we all know that theres good beer from every country and like I said its an easy way to tell if someones a real beer drinker.

  • @teamhex I probably shouldn't have said it like that. There are some great beers here, but they're not that easy to find or know about. Our beer stores carry mostly macro beer, and the liquor stores all carry varying stock all the time so you might suggest a great Canadian beer and I might walk in and it's nowhere to be found in my area. So far I have never tasted a beer from here that is as good as the one in this video. I have my fingers crossed tho.

  • @CraigTube Defiantly the same way in the states. Most people just know the macro brew(mainly because of their advertising budgets). Sad thing is....most people here freak out when they taste beer with real flavor. My dad drinks miller light, and while its not the worst beer in the world...its like water.

  • @CraigTube @teamhex It is all about area. I live in Vegas, and even though we are right next door to California, we don't get the best beer that CA has to offer (Russian River brewery may be the best in the world). I can drive 5 hours to San Diego and have such a great beer experience, yet in Vegas my selection is not as good. I am with Craig that it is such a shame that we all can't have access to the great beers that the world has to offer.

  • Move to friggin' belgium. Best beers in the world (in my opinion) [=

  • Great video Craig but I have to disagree with your statement about Canada not making amazing beer,The 1772 India Pale Ale I had in Charlottetown was absolutely beautiful tasting, the hop flavoring was so abundant and fresh that I still tasted the hops long after the beer was gone and even in the burps, lol That beer was also very clean, refreshing and had about the right amount of carbonation. But most beer in Canada is just average beer. Thumbs up for this vid,Take Care,Cheers!

  • craig double fisting his beers!! awesome!

  • On Star san: When it gets cloudy it means its already breaking down. Basicly its a chemical reaction between the Phosphoric Acid and minerals or chlorine in your tap water. Ive found that if you take 1 gallon jugs of distilled water and make a Starsan solution it will keep indefinately. I then put it in a spray bottle and spray sanitize everything. Ive PH tested star san/distilled water solution up to 2 months later and it still holds its ph of 2-3. Saves ALOT of money

  • You mention "oakyness", have you ever added oak to an extract recipe? What were the effects? Did you enjoy the historic or traditional flavor of the oak? I am considering adding oak to my next brew to help me experience beer in a more historic context.

  • Recently went to Poland for a holiday and yes the best beer i've ever had the entire time, didn't have a less than awesome beer the whole time.

  • you are very lucky to get some amarillo hops

  • Craig, have you ever made a "The Brew House" beer kit? They are amazing.

  • @ColbGood i love the brew house IPA

  • @steve45ca Thats good to hear because I have the IPA in the fermenter right now! My favorite so far is the munich dark lager

  • @steve45ca All of the Brew House beers are great, my favorite is the Red Ale! (And the winter one I can't remember what its called).

  • another nice vid.

hey craig, any chance you could do a video on how to package beer mail?

    thanks. :D

  • great vid, cant wait for the cream ale one. those yeasts are what we frequently use in the u.s. safale05 is particularly sturdy. next time ill have to send you champagne yeast to brew hard cider. a personal q - does your wife mind all your equipment and set -up? im lucky as im unusual as a female brewer and my hubby drinks the beer i make, so, no problems.cheers!

  • @lkcheat I just bottled/kegged your cream ale. It tastes very nice flat, so I think it's going to be a great one. My wife doesn't mind my brewing apparel as long as it's in the basement. I've been brewing since before we met 20 years ago, so I think she'd find it weird if the equipment was gone.

  • Pawel like Pavel Chekov ;-)

  • Great rewiev keep the videos coming....greetings from norway...:)

  • Lol, bugger off!

  • I've used the Safale US 05 on my last beer, an All Grain Amarillio American IPA. It turned out very good!!

  • I forgot: Brackie Mastne has 5,8% ABV. Composed of four types of malts, three barley: Pilsner, Munich and caramel, and malted wheat.

  • 'Mastne' is archaic word, used in XVII century, "derived from the words: burly, full, greasy, meaty, which emphasized the richness of its components and structure of the beer" ... 'Brackie' you can pronounce like Bratzkye (very similar case like Gretzky, whose grandfather was Pole). It's the name of brewery in Cieszyn. Very good work guys. And of course big thanks for Craig!

  • Craig can you have a look at my beer reviews and give me some advice. Thanks.

    ~George~

  • hahah Baby shower hilarious!!!! Great stuff though! Your fans are amazing. I wish my viewers as generous haha. Cheers mate!

  • Hi There, great beer reviews! I can't wait to see what you make with those Amarillo hops. I just bottled up my heather ale, it'll be ready in a few weeks. I hope to see your "heather ale" review soon, and I hope both of our heather beers inspire other folks.

    Cheers!

    Immo

  • Ralphgtx280 is right. Paweł is equivalent to Paul. The "w" is pronounced as a 'v' and the "ł" is pronounced like you would pronounce the letter "w" in 'water'

  • in polish a w is pronounced as v so you say Pavel it is the Polish equivalent to Paul

  • go texas!!!

  • Craig, I assume you're in lower Ontario from watching. If you get a chance, I would love to see a review of one of the beets from Kings microbrewery in Bolton. I think the LCBO carries their line. Thanks for the video!

  • Rockin the Shiner shirt I see. Did you ever review that beer craig? It's one of my favorites and I don't remember seeing the review.

  • Glad to see another video I was going crazy waiting for one... Nice job Craig

  • have you ever had guiness from ireland ?
