  • I have a robin's nest on a mesh table on my porch, and the mud has seeped through and wrapped itself around the holes. Very interesting and very strong stuff. She's laid her eggs, so we're waiting for them to hatch and them to fly away before we remove it. I am curious as to how they carry the mud and how long it takes them to gather all the mud that they use.

  • I have a robin that built a nest on my window sill and I watched it build a nest from nothing, it is amazing. It has no arms yet it can build a perfectly round nest that looks like a clay pot.

In this video when the robin in the nest is hunkering down- almost looks like it is bending in half ..it is at this time it is using its wings to beat down and press the twigs in a circle...it flaps its wings very fast..thump thump thump - you could not hear it in video but that is what it is doing
