  • Oh god those swishing cymbals are awful. Better quality needed!

  • I'm gonna try and tab out that bass riff. it needs to be done

  • @HAYDS510 I did it a while back. The main riff is (tuned down 1/2 step) comprised of the following notes on the two lowest strings: Eb, Eb (G# string 7th fret), G (G# string 11th fret), F# (G# string 10th fret). You basically alternate the notes between the two strings. I think it's picked, but it's pretty easy to do it with fingers for a softer tone.

  • @Ofecks oh cool, thanks man. now the challenge is getting the drummer and guitarist into playing their parts so i can jam this out :p

  • You are a bunch of newbies. This was mecca in a recording studio! I for one pay homage. Many a great night with the stereo blasted. Heard every well placed note!

Bugger off if you don't get it!

  • what album this off of?

  • @sectfist Comfort

  • I really have to find this album. I keep hearing that it isn't up to snuff... but everything I have heard says otherwise.

  • @EyeEyeWitness i know what you mean, i own Magnified, and Fantastic Planet and of course iv looked into their other stuff thinking that if anything else by them is half as good as what iv heard it'll be awsome. What iv read about their first album was that basically their producer, steve albini only did it his way, which works for others he worked with (nirvana, slint) but not really Failure, that basically Albini's style lacked the attention to sonic detail that Failure needed............

  • That being said, basically what you still have is Failure's style of music comeing out of their own personal equipment, to the settings that Ken Andrews did himself. (Ken now teaches recording at a university and has personally produced many famous albums) while steve hold up a tape deck to Kens amps.

Long story short, yeah, buy the album if you can find it.

Also look up Failure's Golden, released after break-up. (i have a playlist of it) and Essentials (2 disk with A-sides, and rare tracks)
