@mostar1991 I think I read somewhere that Iran developed this helicopter mainly for export to developing countries that need to add light attack gunships to their arsenal at a very low cost. The Shahed-285 is said to have a price tag of under $1 million USD per unit! At least that's what I read. Iran's mainstay for attack choppers is the AH-1 Cobra.

You are the decent of Africans, Europeans and Asians. And second of all, many oil rig helicopters are just or even more modern & better than the helicopters the US operate today. Many oil rigs uses modern Europcopters or Sikorsky helicopters, like the S-61N, the EC225 or the EC175.
