Within weeks of beating the Armada she lost her greatest love - Dudley and shut herself up for days. It was only Cecil who perusaded her to come out to celebrate . The relationships she had with these 2 was so much more romantic and intresting than with Raleigh and Walsingham I do not undertand why they were written out after 1st film.
You did a fantastic job! I enjoyed watching this interview. I would be a wreck meeting her as well. True, it's better to keep it cool, be professional, but this is some body you clearly admire. It's understandable. What can you say to somebody who is known for what they've done, over who they are? What can you say to somebody who has probably heard it all, from people they don't know at all? You did great. Cate wasn't bad either. LOL.
She's quite regal in her own right, and has a job that requires stateliness and diplomacy. Playing a queen must connect in some ways to being a well-known artist.
Blanchett never ceases to amaze. Truly she has the ideal look for a queen. She shows so much strength in alot of what she does. Not to menchon she has such an ethereal beauty about her.
Elizabeth I is a true British hero and Cate Blanchett certainly did her justice with her incredible performance as Elizabeth. Blanchett is from Australia which is part of the Commonwealth so she probably has strong British roots anyway. In my humble opinion, I think it would have been better to ask some more specific question. The iinterviewer seemed a bit starstruck, which is entirely understandable.
Looking at how Cate Blanchett responds to this interview is fantastic though. Makes me understand how she could be picked to play Galadriel in LotR, which I thought was an odd choice at first. But she's just so very graceful and calm, like she's aeons old.

You have an amazing attitude my dear. It expresses such maturity and is a good example for those who lash out in response to their own fear of what they do not understand. I see so much of this attitude in the world. It is not to see someone rise above it. As a straight woman I see no reason why someone's sexuality should enter into their reason to like or dislike a person. If you don't care for the interviewer then whatever, but what does their sexual orientation have to do with it?

In my humble opinion, I think it would have been better to ask some more specific question. The iinterviewer seemed a bit starstruck, which is entirely understandable.
Looking at how Cate Blanchett responds to this interview is fantastic though. Makes me understand how she could be picked to play Galadriel in LotR, which I thought was an odd choice at first. But she's just so very graceful and calm, like she's aeons old.
Yep, I probably would have been starstruck as well.

It's crazy to drive that far for a film, but it's not crazy qhen it's Miss Cate :) I've adored her since the first Elizabeth...then, Lord of the Rings came out and I paid attention...but in the middle of those films...and hereafter, I've noticed her caliber as an actress (I voted for her in "The Aviator")...and all of that was cemented when I finally sat down and met her...she's phenomenal! Cate Blanchett's performance in this interview is superb. Did you see how she looked at the interviewer with amusement when he was going on and on about the T-shirt he bought from UK? Not to mention, Cate Blanchett's chuckle when he said his mum adored her. :)
