I like Bob Dylan, the Beatles, all those classic artists but I don't think anyone will ever match Elliott. His depth of feeling and ability to transmit so much emotion through his lyrics and vocals and even his guitar is simply amazing. The only artist who can make "motherf*cker" sound gentle and understanding.

I listened to this song on repeat yesterday, and wandered around a bustling grocery store. It felt poignant to stand and listen to the song while I watched people hurry to and fro, unempathetic and disaffected. I've felt really alone since I went 4000 miles away from college, but Elliott, Nick Drake, and Cobain's acoustic shit have all been a source of comfort.
