Its pretty durable. If trains derail and roll onto it, or fall onto it from a bit of height, It will bounce off and not crack. The newspaper is supposed to stay under the plaster (so use old paper.) It takes about 30 minutes to set, and then overnight to dry completely
No, not at all! What I do is make the inside of the tunnel out of foam, creating walls that line the track, and then a roof. When that is put on and glued, I simply put the newspaper balls on top of the foam tunnel ive created. That way the tunnel is secure, and the terrain around it looks pretty good. If you need any more help send me an email at modeltrain9500@gmail(dot)com and we can talk more
What is the best way to secure to a table terrain that has been built with newspaper and plaster cloth? I am planning on being able to fold up my 8 x 4 ft table and have it rest up against my garage wall vertically when I am not using it.
@TheClemsonDude You can get it at some craft stores but mainly hobby shops. I use Woodland Scenics and it costs me like $8.00 for a roll. The WS stuff is the best IMO.
but, a quick question, how durable is it?
can i remove the newspaper? and how long does it take to dry?

I wish I could help. All my tables have been put together in my basment and have not been moved up or downstairs once.

@mightydesign
Plywood usually works, although recently I started using large foam boards. The large extruded foam boards are light and easy to move around.

Excellent! I'm going to try this now. Where do you buy your plaster cloth? Is there one brand that is better than the others?
