I've owned 6 juno60s over the years. Buy it use it sell it. Sx240 tho I don't think I will ever sell. Same chorus as juno60 from what I have been told. I had my Jupiter6 recapped and it made such a massive difference to the sound it really is a different synth now. My k3 sits on the rack with the korg dw8000 and the emax se . More gear is more fun .the wierd thing about the sx240 is how many people just drop thier jaws when they hear one in person. I like some digital synth too tho. Sy77 really
@transitaautomatic I don´t think the chorus of the Juno has anything to do with the SX240, the chorus in the SX is closer to the Ensemble fx in the Solina. I also own the SX400, this ensemble is sounding a little more lo-fi (noisy).
I have both k3 and sx240. The k3 is one of the best bargains in the vintage market right now. The sx240 I own sits between the two Roland jupiters I own sx240 is really a great overlooked synth. I'm glad I got mine before it became sought after.
Totally Agree about the SX-240. Its far more unique than the Junos and
far more stable than the VCOs like the Prophet 600 and or the Korg Polysixes
which I also own. Its all about taste of course but this synth and the K3's which came along when analog was considered inferior to the Digital or FM synths are so well rounded and like you said so undervalued currently. I had a Jupiter 6... Preferred my Juno 60 actually, but the Jupiter 8 and JP4 are just GIANTS! :p
YOU KNOW IT!!! I've also got a Kawai K3 which is a steal right now for the $... going for less than 1/4 of what
an SX-240 would cost... Of course the SX-240 is nicer and sounds a little different as most of these patches were played in Dual Mode... (you can't do that on the K3) Both Kawai's share the famed SSM 2044 filter chips
and have luxuriant ensemble and chorus effects... 7 chorus settings on the K3
I've worked on both synths and the circuit is almost identical
