  • damn... Nexus looks so small compare to Note...cant even imagine if its an iPhone~~

  • thanks for a clear cut, no nonsense comparison, much appreciated!

  • thanks for this ,it's exactly the versus i was looking forward to, as i want to buy a new android phone on tuesday; i was actually waiting for xperia S, but when i found out that it won't have a removable battery nor a sd card slot, i said bish please.

  • @Mtbfanro what are buying? and why?

  • Thank you .. your the only person that vs's them stock its stupid others had MIUI roms and stuff ..

  • i thought that said hemorrhoids

  • I really wish that they have lte network in my country .so that I can use s2skyrocket !!

  • iPhone is better than both these phone bahahaha

  • @djburke504 iphone was good in 2007 times have changed, apple hasnet

  • @djburke504

iPhone is the worst phone on the market...

  • What about the razr

  • Andy, engadget said the nexus has a better and brighter screen than the note. What is your opinion on that statement?

  • @DaeHan2321 At around 9:15 I say the Note is brighter. Better? Not sure. Does bigger equals better?

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet Where I'm from bigger is better but as for phones engadget said the nexus has the brighter screen. I'm very interested in the note and getting all the info before I make the switch from iphone to note. I've read the Skyrocket has a Super AMOLED Plus screen vs the note's HD Super AMOLED. Who has the better screen?

  • @DaeHan2321 I'm afraid I've not seen a Skyrocket, or it's screen...

  • My Note got a 980 with the vellamo test.

  • Comment removed

  • note is waay too big....

  • I think I'm gonna cry after the S3 gets released since it looks damn BEAST and I already gotten the note/nexus. Mann. XD I just can't wait.

  • Did anyone notice the almost 40 deg. difference when doing the gps lock

  • same here gettin it for my birthday

  • I don't think I am ever going to get the best phone ever in my life b cuz every single day there is a new phone which I is better than another

  • @Riyarajesh9988 :True story:

  • @Riyarajesh9988 but im Going with Note! :D what about u?

  • For you kids who argue about not.pressing the Angry Birds at the same time, HE JUST GAVE THE NEXUS 3 TRIES, FAILED IN 2 OF THEM. So STFU.

You should have done a Web browser test too, but thNk you, useful enough it was.

Don't forget Nexus is running Ice Cream Sandwich

  • in the end phones are used for calls and msges....

  • @rishabh409 Yours might be, and you're wasting a lot of money if you're buying a smartphone just to call and message.

  • @rishabh409 lame comment just saying.... please refrain from 1994 comments lol

  • i call BullShit i just did the same thing with my Samsung Epic 4G Touch (GSII) stock and i got 833 so it seems a lil shakey to me

  • I find it odd that EVERY video except yours scored a higher browser test on the Note than the Nexus. Nonetheless, great review sir.

  • Your not good to do videos like this...The Nexus is the best mobile on the market and you never pressed the same time at Angry birds!

  • and OP, the nexus scored better on the graphics benchmark because the nexus screen resolution is smaller than the note.

  • I agree with the below comment. When the Note gets ICS, it will mop the floor with the Nexus.

  • Note Gpu = Mali-400MP

  • I like watching videos of phones I wish I had.

  • comparing 2 phones note and nexus

    1 with a4 the other a2.3

there are a lot of upgrades/tweaks/improvements given to a4

    with your results

when note gets a4 upgrade it will blow away even the nexus...

  • I really hope the note comes to sprint. The better browser performance is probably more to do with ics than hardware. Love the screen size on note!

  • Why is the note not in Canada yet??? GAHHHHH!

  • And Note has 8mpx,nexus 5mpx camera

  • well , yeah , Note would be the best looking at its specifications , but anyways it's a bit uncomfortable when u hold it in your hand and also the design isn't so cool , despite of Nexus which has a really cool design and good specs. In my opinion the Nexus is the best and I would buy it. :D

  • Thanks for creating the comparison.

I need to browse the net a lot looking for info and having poor eye sight problems, the Galaxy Note is my preference.

As to browsing test, it depends on the user end needs not tech specs. E.g. If I need to check all possible articles on an online newspaper, I can see more articles on the Note displayed on first page of web. Even though the Nexus is faster, you still need to spend time to zoom out the webpage to see all articles to get to the one you want.

  • My note score 953 on Vallamo test

    Rooted Firmware XXLA4

  • their both so ugly........ I don't think ill ever need ALL those features for my lifestyle... I'm gonna go with the better looking phones out there.

  • can't wait for ICS..

  • the galaxy note running the ics will be the best phone ever

  • The note is just too big for me. And the battery on my nexus is great its not the lte version and im glad it isnt.

  • nexus is always good .....direct 4rm google ..you dont have wait sach a long time 4 updates

  • NOTE: We can’t forget the bright and vivid 5.3″ 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED HD display and 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. I’m always a little worried with the color white on a smartphone, but here its just gorgeous. Who agrees?

  • Very good review, thanks. Would you consider doing another video when samsung releases ICS for the galaxy note?

  • i am getting a new phone, at the moment in australia the nexus is already out, so i might just get the nexus

  • There is an advantage to having a pen if the device also works with the fingers.

  • Comment removed

  • I know some of you may not agree, but I just don't consider the Galaxy Note a smartphone, but rather an under-sized pc tablet.

  • @Drrck11 I think most people wouldn't agree with that. But everyone's allowed an opinion :-)

  • @Drrck11 under sized tablet or oversized smartphone same difference... I guess it just depends on your perspective

  • @Drrck11 dude, its just a large phone, it makes phone calls and text, its a phone no doubt

  • @Drrck11

Samsung themselves acknowledge this... hence the term phablet

  • Would have liked to see more repetitions, but a nice demonstration nonetheless.

  • Thanks! Good review

  • Linkin Park <3 :D

  • No Not fair. Did u factor in the CPU Usage? The Running applications That are consuming the Phone's ram? actually if just 1 Application is consuming 1mb of ram in one phone that is not On on the other phone it is an unfair test

  • @iseeredppl Totally fair. We took one phone as it would be when someone uses it and took another phone as it would be when someone uses it and compared them. Tinkering to generate artificial circumstances would not be a good way to compare them.

  • It will be interesting to see a comparison with an AT&T version vs. the International version. From what I've read on XDA, they are totally different phones. The GPS is extremely important to me, I hope it's as good on the AT&T version.

  • to look noise level with a phone is the stupidest thing that i've ever seen

current value noise level = equivalent noise level

    as

    chair = melon

  • I wanted to get the note first time i saw it but then again it is so big, i'm thinking about a S2, Note, Nexus, anyone any ideas ?

Clearly this is a good test, good job ! Maybe do another test when the note gets ice cream ?

  • EVERYONE THUMBS UP FOR nokia 3310

  • I love my Samsung Galaxy Note. The best phone and in fact the best gadget I ever owned. It excels at everything in my opinion.

  • erm this is an unfair test! the nexus runs ice cream sandwich out of the box and the note doesnt get 4.0 for another month. Test again then please..

  • @mikeyjharris Perfectly fair test. What the Nexus can do, what the Note can do. I might start just removing comments like this I think...

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet Honestly don't get why people would waste time removing comments... There will always be stupid comments.

  • do u need data or wifi for gps?

or can use it like normal gps (like garmin or tomtom) with out internet.

  • @vijayanv88 GPS itself doesn't require a connection. The app that uses GPS may well do, it depends which app you're using...

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet so is there an app that uses gps without data?

    name few.

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet I am getting 838 Vellamo app on Galaxy S running ICS. So I guess mikeyjharris is correct.

  • Thumbs up if you prefer the Note!

  • Both phones arent perfect so i will wait for s3..;)

  • I like note but dont like the fact that you have to use your both hand to use it.. :(

  • I like the look of the nexus :D

  • why are you obsessed with the nexus, note responded far better and is a pretty decent device.

  • quite boring review... add some liveliness.

  • what is the difference btwn gorilla glass and oleophobic coating?

  • htc legend have such a beautiful design

  • Wait till the note gets ice cream. No comp.

  • @blastonme indeed you saved me the thinking of making the same comment

  • Note

  • Both are great!! Still confused.. which one of these, would be better?

  • @Smodiphy Read the reviews to help decide. We have covered both on our site.

  • I have a note. Best phone ever!

  • The SGS2 is faster than the Nexus. It's a shame. Cause the Nexus has a weaker CPU compared to the Note's and SGS2' Exynos

  • @weinerschnitzelboy No it isn't, in fact it's slower

  • @mystuff3040 No the Os is better (well was since the SGS 2 has ICS) but the CPU is worse Exynos beats TI OMAP and the GPU is worse too.

  • Good review

Overall the Note is by far the better device. Any objective review will come to that conclusion It has a faster CPU, removable SD storage, gorilla glass, a huge battery and pen capability. Those factors make it vastly superrior. The nexus has the absolute worst battery life on 4G LTE= 1/2 a day.

The Note will have ICS in a few months.

The only reason someone in their right mind would not get the note is size. Size is THE deciding factor btwn these 2. I'm getting the note.

  • @MessengerThe1 Thanks. You do realise this is not a review and it not attempting in any way to be a review. Both devices are reviewed on our site.

  • @MessengerThe1

Faster CPU? You can have that one, but the resolution makes up for it.

SD Storage? Google did this one purpose, I prefer not having one, I didn't remove it once when I still had my HTC Hero, and 32gb is more than enough for anyone.

Gorilla glass? It's normal fortified glass, both have fortified glass, so no point there.

Huge battery? The screen again makes up for it, and the processor too.

    Pen? Useless and unresponsive.

I got through the day with 11% on my Nexus.

  • @mystuff3040 11%? Lmao with Note, 18 hours 20%.

    Pen is responsive, BS more

    LOL @ sd argument

    note has more resolution. DERP

    Gorilla glass > fortified glass

    .

  • @hellokevinrice Gorilla Glass is just a brand of fortified glass. Please let us know if you have any info on it being better than other fortified glass.

  • @hellokevinrice

11% after 2 hours of 720p video at 50%, 2 hours of music, and 2 hours of web browsing.

Pen is completely unresponsive, you need extreme force to make it do anything at all.

SD argument is valid since you didn't prove it wrong.

A correct term would be: the Note has a higher resolution.

But it doesn't matter anyway, since the PPI is way higher on the Galaxy Nexus.

Gorilla Glass is fortified glass, they are equal, there is no difference at all.

    Bad try 0/10

  • @mystuff3040 Then you didn't test the pen I make awesome drawing with a bit of mirror effect even though I suck at drawing and a friend of mine who's job is to make short films, draw etc. found the pen to be very good. The SD argument is unvalid since it's always better to have the possibility to add one even if you don't want to. Music drains almost no battery and although the battery is OK it's a lot smaller than the note's one.

  • @MessengerThe1

I don't think iv'e ever seen something so objective.

  • @MessengerThe1 Having pen capability does not automatically count towards superiority - surely its a matter of preference to use it (they stylus). I was using Styli on phones around 6 or 7 years ago (IMATE, IMATE JAM etc) and thought the whole point of today's smartphones where you can use fingers and thumbs on the screen was to get away from using the damn things

  • @MessengerThe1 Too bad the note is so big :(

  • @MessengerThe1 As long as it's fine for you to have something that looks like pan on your ear.

  • My goodness the Note looks like a really small Tablet. Not sure I would want that as my phone to carry everywhere all the time. Thanks for the video.

  • I must say this is a good sleep aide

  • What kind of bullshit is this?

My Galaxy Nexus starts in about 14 seconds (timed)

  • @mystuff3040 Yeah and my Note starts faster than this one he uses stock roms not custom ones.

  • okey that's it the note it is

  • Hi. My galaxy s2 has just given me 942 score which is only on Gingerbread 2.3.4. I'm not joking and i'm surprised how can it be higher than those two kings????

  • LOL!!! Note faster then Nexus xD

  • Nice video

  • Cool Tests... I have a Note but i LOVE the Nexus and i think i'll either sell my Note or just wait for ICS to be available (I'm rooted anyway, so i think i'll wait for CM9 :D)

Since you seem to have the BEST comparison on YouTube... can you tell me how is your note stability on Overclocking to 1.7GHz if you tried that?

Mine Freezes after about a minute and i have to hold down the power button to reboot... i really want a stable Kernel at 1.7GHz if you have some info...

    Thanks for the video :D

  • I wish The Note Can Upgrade to 4.0 IceCream Sandwich....:(

  • Comment removed

  • @TRonlyOne The Note will receive ICS in Q1 2012 (between january - march).

  • The Note a friggin mini tablet, hardly a phone...

  • he's right out of the three the nexus and the note are the two best. But the note is not a good phone for being a phone its to big its the size of a tablet, but i could take the sim card and just use it for abilities, but galaxy s II isn't one of the best the nexus s 4G. so now you know. I NEVER SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The note is smaller :p

  • The Not is slightly quieter, granted but the Nexus' quality is terrible!

  • nexus has android 4.0 and note has 2.3.6 try to test them with both os

  • does the nexus have a bigger box?

  • @MrTheAndu Longer :) ... Nexus has a LONG box...

  • ok the note is def better hardware wise but danm is Ice Cream Sandwhich that much overpowering compared to gingerbread O.o, I WANT ICE CREAM SANDWHICH

  • I see your using your data connection while testing the GPS thats not a true GPS lock then you have to test it by using only GPS location.

  • Once the Note gets Ice Cream Sandwich, it'll blow everything away.

  • OK, let me clare this! The note fits in your pockets!

  • Hopefully Nexus is out by end of this month in asia.

  • Too bad the note doesn't fit in anyone's pocket

  • The Vellamo scores didn't seem reliable on the GNexus...Looked like many steps were skipped.

Anyway you stated a much better browser perfomance on the GNexus based on that test.

    Nice comparison nevertheless

  • Jesus Christ that screen is huge xD

  • I am not professional. So, which 1 is better????I am now confusing 2 of these.....

  • very good video

  • @Hemorrdroisnet Do you think I should buy the Nexus or the Note because the only thing that interests me in the Nexus is ICS so is it worth giving up all the Note has to offer for early ICS, early updates, and perhaps better software integration?

  • Is the GPS free like on Nokia phones? i'm afraid to change because of that, i use GPS on my phone alot, btw would i be able to change the Android version on the Galaxy Note without voiding the warranty? thanks

  • @ssportugal The GPS is totally free and has the best maps out there (since it's google maps). Yes you can update or change stock roms (official android versions) without voiding the warranty. But you can also use user-made roms which are often even faster and smoother but then you'll void the warranty (but it's reversible). So try to learn about android a bit more before trying this. But I can ensure you Android is way better than Symbian IMHO (way more apps, totally customizable, faster...)

  • ics isnt flash optimized browser yet, note is bigger thinner, better processor and camera , the only thing in the galaxy nexus is ICS, which will eventually come in the note, i think i know the winner

  • wish the Galaxy note was coming to the US....

    Sad face.

  • @greenrolaids order it from amazon :)

  • @greenrolaids it will eventually

  • im in love with the nexus and i dont even have it yet

  • this guy needs to speak more clearly

  • Tsssst...The iPhone RULES and OWNES ALL...don't waste your hard earned jack on cheap Samsung Crap.

  • @hikonejo LOL please explain to all of us here how the iphone is better. I need a good laugh this morning.

  • @hikonejo xDD you tell us not to waste our money? The iPhone is the most expesnive smartphone on the market even though it's way smaller than the Nexus, Note etc. and it's production costs are very low...

  • God, is there a new cell phone created every 2 fucking seconds?

  • hemorrdroids,

    so familiar with hemorrhoids,

    omg,

  • For the sound test you should play up white noise on both phones and place the microphone right next to the speaker. Otherwise during your tests I think you were very good at not overinterpreting results. :D Good comparison. :)

  • This guy sounds like Ashens.

  • note sucks dick bye
