steel actually has multiple temperatures in which it melts, depending on grade, and quality. One also has to consider what was available in 1973 and before in steel.

I would like to say that only 6 weeks before this happened, a person buys the lease of the WTC in $ 15 million insurance policy by modifying the twin towers for added protection in this terrorist attack. steel actually has multiple temperatures in which it melts, depending on grade, and quality. One also has to consider what was available in 1973 and before in steel.
that is a good at least 40 years of advancements from 70 till today.
a little more then that actually, considering they began building them before 70.
Most steel then did weaken at about 1500

Many people forget about, or have never heard of World Trade Center 7 which was a 47-storey 200-meter-high skyscraper that was never hit by a jet yet crumpled to the ground like a house of cards a full 7 hours after the collapse of the North Tower.
Thermite residue was found in WTC dust, as well as pools of molten iron in the rubble of the Twin Towers and Building 7 up to 6 weeks after 9/11
