I'm just wondering, if John Lennon listened to this in its modern day sound quality along with the beautiful lyrics and fantastic instrumentation (along with how his voice has changed over the years)., and was told that this is one of the songs McCartney would write in old age what he would think.
Paul is such a good singer. he always sings so good and beautiful and he is one of the greatest songwriters in the history of music along with John Lennon George Harrison and Ringo Starr. I love Paul McCartney, and I believe he will keep on making great marvelous songs until the day he is unable to.
@molcom07 oh ok, the reason i asked is because at the end he records a quick song, i didnt know if he also recorded this during that session too. It sounds exactly like the studio version.
Jesusss.....does this guy ever run out of creativity? He's been making amazing songs for 50 years.....I mean.....it has to run out some time right?....right?
Paul's got a masterpiece in each of his albums, even the latest ones, when he's over sixty... Jenny Wren, Bellamy...he's genius...TRULY, MADLY DEEPLY love you, Paul.
Este es un disco hermoso, creo que el disco mas hermoso hecho por paul despues de Flaming Pie. GRACIAS MACCA POR DARNOS A TODOS TANTOS MOTIVOS PARA SOÑAR CON UNA MELODIA
My name is Jenny and this is one of the few "Jenny" songs where "Jenny" is not a hooker, or a bad girfriend, or dead. Thank you Paul for this lovely tune!
Now and then paul really does match his beatles output , this is one of those songs .Not knocking ringo but paul really is the sole standard bearer for the beatles legacy now and his output for the last ten years has been pretty good . i prefer john and georges music to some extent wish they were still with us .
Heheh, I love what he did with the sleeve album cover. I didn't notice it until I was trying to look at it right side up, though that just caused me to realize it was upside down! XD
@SkittlesTheLucario hahaha, same thing happened to me. my guitar teacher said about that, and was the first time he saw it... and i have that CD for a long time
Paul wrote this to be the same picking style as "Balckbird" " Mother natures son" and other songs and hte solo you hear is played on the venezualan intrument the Duduk--Paul played this song live in concert once ever- the Sapce Within US Tour and it was amazing!
This song is so Paul McCartney... which means... it's freaking amazing. :D Before this video, though, I didn't know that Paul was left handed... you learn something knew everyday...
I heard this song on a radio station where Paul played it live. I like the Beatles but i'm not one of those people who listen to their music all the time, same for Mccart. But this song is just something else. And also, as I am a musician the beginning riff is so drastic and so heartfelt. It's wonderful.
Thank you, Macca for all the beautiful music throughout the years of my entire lifetime. I can't imagine what life would be like if there were no Beatles. I love music because of the Beatles. Music saves people.
Jenny Wren was written in Los Angeles, and is about a character of the same name from Charles Dickens' novel Our Mutual Friend. It also refers to an English bird known as the wren, which is reported to be McCartney's favourite. McCartney wrote the tune in the same sort of finger picking style found in "Blackbird", "Mother Nature's Son" (The Beatles) and "Calico Skies" (Flaming Pie). The song earned a nomination for the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category.
that voice...at starting at 1:23 is something special..i love the sound of his voice now that its aged...cant wait to hear it when hes even more older haha...and those chords are heartbreaking.
This seems like a mix of Blackbird, Rocky Raccoon, and Eleanor Rigby all in one song. But it's really good. I like how his songs tell a story about imaginary people and stuff.
Jah044445 you're right... Sir Paul said that he wanted to write in a style like blackbird, somthing he hasn't done in a while... You have a good ear.... LM

@kennyg03 Welllll, they found gravestones with the names Eleanor Rigby and John McKenzie outside of the church where Paul and John supposedly met that nobody noticed before. It was never confirmed whether they were put there after the song came out or if it was pure coincidence, but I imagine that they were put there afterwards.
