  • i have this game on my phone :)

  • Man, Ryan was a human being once too.

  • I love SM3, but I won't bother with this one since it has that constant annoying "woohoo" mario voice. I played Mario 2 on the advance, and just couldn't stomach the voice all the time. I wish they'd make Mario a plumber from brooklyn again. Instead a twit with an annoying high pitched voice.

  • @kawrght I think everybody and their dog knows that by now.

  • Aside from the E-Reader crap. this is a Straight-Up (Port) of SMB3. (Ripped Out of) *Super Mario Allstars* On the (Super Nintendo/SNES.

i got the (Super Mario Allstars: 25th Annaversy Limited Edition) on Wii, and SMB3 Looks Just Like It. FYI, The Wii Version is Also a Port of the SNES Version of SM-Allstars.

  • what does multiplayer mode do

  • How dare you E-cards were the shit back then.....!

  • Ign has better reviewers

  • thumbs up if you only bought a gameboy advance for this game.

  • Man, Ryan sounds so different.

  • should i get super mario advanced 2 or this one

  • @armeniandude1000 i think this one

  • the e-card is fucking garbage. They could've added this stuff as a bonus when you beat it.

  • Ryan Davis more like Shy Davis. Seriously it's like watching a completely different person.

  • @Hatsumi92 Totally. I completely forgot that this version of Ryan Davis even existed.

  • This review must be from an alternate dimension where Super Mario All Stars didn't exist.

  • A young, less hairy, smaller Ryan Davis!

  • OK, I have some complaints about this review.

First off, why didn't he even bother to mention Super Mario All-Stars?

Second, why didn't he mention the screen size issue, and how that is the very reason that many of the levels are changed?

Third, why didn't this review include screenshots of the original game? If I hadn't played the NES version, I would have no idea what the difference is.

At least this review didn't get anything wrong, but more effort could have been put into it.

  • with the e-reader...

    youll see some BIG changes.

hehe. ive scanned a few and saw turnip plants in levels, the cape, enemies turning to coins when hit by fire....

    lol thats fun.

  • haha, hes looks so young.

  • I play all three nes and snes version on the cumputer and on my gameboy advanced i play super Mario world 4 super Mario bros 3

  • Love this game, my first gba game

  • This game gets boring plus most of the music In this game isn't as fun to listen to as Mario 2, Mario world and yoshis island

  • I'm gonna get the game today plus a wii game

  • super mario world is better

  • @EternalFire12 no its not

  • what? only 8.9?

  • i miss this game... i got the gameboy on christmas and i screamed sooooo loud lol. it was a giant pack that had SMB3 + manual + Gameboy Advanced SP.... that was when gameboys were new.......

  • @plasman1029 ditto i was playing that game all night long

  • get fck out of here 8.9 they must be crazy as hell this game should get a 10... they must not know what a real game is if they hit them in the face

  • Who gives a shit about the score that's displayed for 2 seconds, listen to the stuff he says beforehand.

  • i used to have this game,i had to buy another gameboy when i got to the sky level, and another one when i got to the last level.

  • try reversing the verdict number to 9.8 GS

  • This review hardly does justice to the e-reader features.

  • Yeah, those voices wear me down after a while; I wish you could toggle them off.

"Just what I needed!" Oh, really Mario? That's great, thanks for sharing... "Just what I needed!" what, now you needed a leaf? I thought you needed the tanooki suit. Jackass.

  • lol I think I'm the only person who likes the voices at all. Probably because I wasn't born in the 80's

  • hmmm I guess I'm just more tolerant of things.

  • This game was pretty hard. I was amazed nintendo made this game a long time ago. They said the real SM2 was too hard!

  • This game is SO HARD! 2cnd world is like the 8th world in new SMB

  • i completed it now. I've never been more proud of myself =P Seriously this is SUCH a hard game.

  • When I heard this was coming out, I was hoping they would let you replay levels and maps. Grr.

  • they do, you have to beat the whole game first.

  • I was so annoyed about NES Version, i did it after many trys. The Game boy Advance was easyier yes. I liked it more because when you died you didn't go back to the middle of the map. And you can save more :P

  • where can u buy this game and for how much?

  • game stop 24.00 I payed 20 for it off of Ebay

  • ebay, bought for 6 pounds.

  • 8.9 wtf this game is easly a 9.8

  • No kidding. Best GBA game of all time easily.

  • this is gamespot so yeah they will give great games lower scores

  • Only thing what I hate about sma4 is that its too easy, like original nes version was lot harder, also music would be better, like I never liked music on super mario all-stars :\

  • "...because Super Mario Bros. 3 is probably one of the greatest platformers ever made."

    Not many truer statements exist.

  • @DJBuyDay a truer statement is that it is one of the best games of all time

  • How in the world does any version of SUPER MARIO BROS. 3 get less than a 9.0?! I know it's only a couple hours long, but this is one of those masterpieces everybody loves.

  • agreed, i still play it on the NES!

  • me too lol

  • I barely remember playing this when I was a kid. Is it longer than New Super Mario Bros DS? I really enjoyed that, but felt it was very very short!

  • I'd say that MARIO 3 is longer than the DS MARIO game. The DS game let you only complete 6 of 8 worlds. MARIO 3 forces you to complete all 8 worlds (unless you find a secret Warp Flute).

MARIO 3 is still a tad short, but it's not as short as NEW SUPER MARIO BROS on DS.

  • If you beat the level 2 boss with extra small Mario, you warp to level 4. If you beat the level 5 boss with extra small Mario, you warp to level 7. Also, if you find certain secret exits in the game, you can climb into a warp cannon that launches you to a further level.

  • this is a reply to darkram's comment.

  • (about nsmb, not smb3)

  • all i need now is Super Mario Advance 1 And yoshi's island to complete my advance series :D

  • I remember not going to school to get this it was kind of worth it

  • Awesome review.thanks for the info. 5 stars
