Roger was a baad Brother!!! I didn't know that he played bass too! The Brother played bass, lead guitar, keyboards, the talk box and the harmonica. Very talented. RIP Roger. You left us much too soon.
Great vid! SO live. Born white (sob), I was never hipped to zapp through childhood but got my fast-track lesson at Carnegie hall, where i was playing with The main ingredient, and Zapp opened. i saw the whole insane show from backstage. Roger made his costume changes 2 ft from me. The funk was so deep, the show so timed, his talent so mind boggling. The next day I owned the Heil talkbox and every album he ever made, RIP, Sir Roger, you were an incredible inspiration across the lines.
Roger Troutman and Zapp are incredibly underrated. Roger is literally jumping from instrument to instrument jammin groove to groove. I would definitely rank him right up there with Prince and MJ is terms of pure musicianship and artistry.
Roger, we miss you. Thank goodness for the advancement in video technology. Your brother must have really been hurting in order for him to take you away from us. Because vocoder and voice box techniques still exist, so do you. Your genius will always be a permanent part of music history. As your fans, you will forever live because we live. R.I.P. Mr. Roger "voice box" Troutman.
oh my dayz man!!!! this is sick.....i know funkadelic done some of this shit already in the 70's but roger is such a wicked showman.....and the synths man ...the synths!!!! i want one of those tubes! would be well cool when ordering a round....
give me live in dc 5,6,7,8,9,10 i missed roger in his only live performance at polyesters in boston my daughter had 3boys since lost my dad.those things i got over. missing roger still pisses me off
i was thouroughly entertained as if i was in the front row center and feeling all of that curl juice fly!!!!...I LOVE IT!!!!...i had no idea that that was Roger on harmonica!!!!...he was loaded down with talent...wow...can't believe he left us at such an early age...
i will return with the influence of Zapp and charisma of a real artist. what our big stars should be now...but OBVIOUSLY they haven't been doing there homework. KEEP THAT FUNK ALIVE. THANKS ROGER AND ZAPP!
My computer monitor almost exploaded with so much talent overload exposed on the screen!!!! What happened since these days? *Sigh* Soulja Boy is what people think is talnet these days. :-(
They know how to please the crowd.Everybody looked like they were having a good time.Wish I was there.Roger you left behind more than memories. You left behind a legacy in music.
