ESPN (and specifically SportsCenter) would not exist in it's current form without George Michael's Sports Machine having aired in the 80's. That was THE ORIGINAL nationwide sports highlight show and as a kid in Iowa I remember watching it with delight back in the day.

I love this clip. He was a good man and left a lasting legacy as such.

When he left the station, it was a sad day and this is even more sad to hear that he passed away today.
