  • if i had the money id give ya cash for it but sadly i dont. nice truck though. You got any video of the motor running in the engine compartment?

  • @gotgears3444 Not at the moment

  • heey maan how many changes did you do to swap the engine... about the electrical parts

  • @ferchoxtuning A lot. You're better off buying mine. lol

  • @djruehle i would like but i live in venezuela...please tell about the changes to do it in my dako :$ why are you selling your dako???

  • @ferchoxtuning Family is growing, need a crew cab lol

  • @djruehle tell me how did you do with the wires and the connectors of the new engine? please :$

  • @ferchoxtuning I started with the 4.7 harness that was in the truck and cut and splice in the correct connectors for the Hemi sensors

  • @djruehle Ill trade you my 01 dakota with 92000 miles?? Its a quad cab

  • @MikeyXXTyson and how much money? lol

  • @djruehle blue book says 5,000 trade in for my truck. How much are you looking to get for yours?

  • @MikeyXXTyson It's currently for sale on dodgetalk . com for $14,000

  • My truck is now for sale on dodgetalk . com

  • Did you use the stock moter mounts?

  • @MrCarlosCruz1 One had to be modified. I also added a "torque strut" on the front to keep the engine/transfer flexing under torque. ;)

  • what site did you go on to find it

  • @littleburton88 I went to my garage...lol

  • can you put a hemi in a automatic dakota?

  • @littleburton88 That's what this is

  • @djruehle what year is the motor, and how much did it cost?

  • @littleburton88 2005...it cost a few hundred bucks after I sold the 4.7 out of it

  • That's 1 awsome lil toy you've got!!! I'd love to have a stick in my 03 QC 4.7. If anything ever happens to the engine and had the opportunity, I'd go with the hemi. Any idea about the 4.7 auto mating up to the hemi? BTW love to see a walk around /under the hood video

  • @Geraldtoo It bolts right up to the 5.7 hemi. Mine is still a bone stock trans from the 4.7...doesn't seem to mind lol

  • @djruehle This prob. an extremely stupid que. but If you drive it easy haha, what kind of mpg can you get with that Hemi in the Dakota? I'm sure you didnt build it not to play with, just trying to figure out why the Dakotas with 4.7 same engine as the 1500. doesnt get that much better mpg? Man thats a TOUGH TRUCK!!!

  • @Geraldtoo I'm getting the same mileage I got with the 4.7. Seems to be the same story in the 600 lb heavier rams too.

  • @djruehle this was a pretty straight foward swap i assume? anythin extra need to be done?

  • Retarded Dimeler-Chrystler puts the biggest HEMI in god damned challengers. That's a 6.4. Then they put a 6.1 in the chargers, magnums, 300s, and jeep srt-8s. Then they put the baby of the hemi family in the rams. I say put the 6.4 in the rams and challengers and either the 5.7 or the 6.4 in the Dakota

  • man,,, It is SOOOO TIME FOR Chrysler TO DO THE OBVIOUS GOOD THING HERE!!! they put the hemi in the RAM,, the Charger, Challenger, JEep. the damn Chrysler SUV which is a Durango, and the DURANGO! they made the RT Dakota in the 90s with a 245 hp 360, and was Quite popular even though it was only Avail in AUTO, and that you could get a 318 dakota with a 5 speed which was way more fun!!! HELLO DODGE! how bout To start, for the people who cant afford SRT machines! a 5.7 Dakota 2wd reg cab, STICK

  • it would be awesome to slip a 6.1 in a dakota. electronic wise probably pretty much impossible

  • @carfreak59750 Nope- the electronics are the same as the 5.7, would be easy, just expensive

  • @djruehle I'll let you know how much when Im done, we are doing a modern Dakota R/T TT with the 6.1, So far not to bad but there is a slight fitment issue, Still trying to figure out how to fit 2 turbos under a stock hood. We want it to look as stock as possible a nice good sleeper, so far we are about $18,500 into it not including the price of the truck.

  • @adamslurch71 Let me know what you did with the pan. We had to build a custom one. WOuld be nice if a srt 8 jeep pan would fit. Is your's 2wd or 4wd?

  • @djruehle 4 wheel drive, its also got a 6" lift, nothing major its just enough to help us clear the front drivetrain around the engine. We took the front frame of the SRT8 and got it onto the front end of the Dakota, I dont recommend it lots and lots of room for mistakes, It still has the Dakota panels on the front but they had to be stretched a little, unless you know what to look for you cant really tell. Once its done I'll post a video, I just dont like showing projects in the works.

  • Holy hell, man. That thing is runnin' like it should!

  • That is f@cking ridiculous, I love it.

  • sick man. you feel like helpin me with my swap? lol i got the motor and i got the truck. just need to grow the confidence to do it. im guessing this is easiest when starting off with a 4.7..., am i right?

  • What year is your truck? Best have some good welding skills, or friends with good welding skills. lol

  • my truck is a 04 with the 4.7, i've read your thread on this project. sounds like a lotta work lol

  • It was, but now that I did it once I know all the "what not to do's" so overall its worth it 100%. Love the 4.7, but its not enough to push around a '05+ truck

  • @djruehle agreed for sure, this is my 2nd 4.7 in a dakota and loved them both, just ready for some more power lol

  • @djruehle agreed for sure, this is my 2nd 4.7 in a dakota, i used to have a 2000 SLT now i got an 04 sport. i loved them both, just ready for some more power lol

  • @djruehle agreed for sure. i used to have a 2000 SLT, now i got an 04 sport. love them both, just ready for some more power lol

  • Doesn't make sence!!!!!! You can have hemi durango, but you can not have hemi dakota???? Doesnt make sence. The buyer will need more ''hemi' in the dakota instead of the durango.

  • After talking to two engineers they were only afraid of killing ram sales. That's why the Dakota wasn't offered with the hemi.

  • They really should so that the Dakota's can start selling like they used to. Right now they aint even moving off the lots, plus they're going out of production in 2011. From what I've read, even despite having a 300hp rating on the new 4.7, they're still really weak compared to the 5.7 Hemi from up to 6 years ago! Sad sad sad... People (like me and you) who dont want a monster sized truck shouldn't be deprived of having a powerful motor, they still problably would have good sales on the Rams.

  • Yes If there is hemi dakota not many people will buy hemi tank/ram,,,especially if the Dak price is lower. Anyway you did a great job making this real Hemi Dakota like it should be. Cheers.

  • Thanks!

  • Thats a 4.7 thats no hemi.

  • Read carefully. This has a hemi swap.

  • Can it be done on an '01 Dakota?

  • Yeah I've seen it done to a couple older dakotas already. Lots of work!

  • Damn how many ponies you got in there?

  • not sure, but a lot more coming soon ;)

  • thats phat. i told my dad to get a hemi in his dakota.

  • well its not an option from the factory, from the fear of killing ram sales, but you can install them with some fabrication...

  • weak!! lol

  • LOL
