  • wonder if these guys ever made up?!

  • Wow I play baseball and even I would run on that. The ball is hit to the opposite side of the stumps that Chanderpaul is running to and the fielder had to dive for the ball. The slowest runner would have made it. I say that was pewr stof sieya.

  • ian bell lucky!

  • HE IS FUMING! GET OUT OF THE WAY HES A BIGMAN LOOOOL

  • technically, morton leaves his ground again when he slams his bat into the ground!

  • 7:55

"YES! yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah 'uck YEAH YEAH -FUCK!- ... FUCK!"

  • what would have happened if both had touched their bats down at the same time??? :D

  • @100kierenw surely monako ..cuz he left his crease

  • LOL @ today (2nd Test Pak vs West Indies) Azhar Ali and Mohammed Salman did the same, but A-shocker de Silva didn't change his uber-idiot decision, and Azhar Ali was out (he was in this video's Runako Morton situation.)

  • morton may have reached the line first but look at 0:18, when morton got angry he raised his bat and stamp his feet so his bat was in the air and his both feet was out before the wicket keeper rip off the bails so its morton who should have been out

  • @canadianchillazz ya i too think dis..........this should have been noticed and morton should have been out.....

  • Press 3 repeatedly for pac-man sound effect

  • This is a wrong decision... clearly before the bails are broke, Morton picks his bat up (leaving the crease) and then slams his bat down again, where as chanderpaul stays in his crease, therefore chanderpaul is the batter who shouldnt have been given out...

  • @alicraig94 No, once you get to the other end, you're fine if the other batsman left the crease at any point. So even if you try to get back, because the other guy left his crease, he will be given out.

  • yea yea yeayeayeayea !FUCK

  • That is just terrible. There was a single there everyday.

  • give them both out....bring 2 new batsman

  • luvud wuth hus kiptin

  • Morton should have been out because he went out of the crease just before the stumps were broken. He smashed his bat on the pitch, but got out of the crease in the process. 0:23

  • Just proves what a selfish cricketer chanderpaul is

  • @timmyedmundson Have you got a vendetta against Chanderpaul or something???

  • @KochoC Dunno where you got a vendetta from but it is awful running and selfish

  • 2:43 id say that Morton is out as Chanperpauls bat appears to be grounded beyond the line with Morton on the line.

  • It was an easy single, It was Chanderpaul's fault so its fair.

  • THE VIDEO ENDS AT 3 : 34 ...WHY 8 MINUTES ...LOSERRR

  • nice nose blow

  • Very funny

  • I think Morton should technically be out as he leaves the crease to take out some anger and has nothing grounded behind the line, although I think it's fair that Shiv went as it was his fault.

  • @ashliski

A Batsman cannot be given out, run out, if he has left his crease under the misapprehension that he is out.

  • @senluijr if u know so much take up umping homeboy fo real

  • @ashliski INZAMAN COULD HAVE HIS OWN COMPILATION OF RUN OUTS

  • send both out...

  • guyz every1 got it wrong notice how wen morton thinks hes out he smacks his bat (bat lifts in air) before mccullum takes bales off so morton shuld b out

  • lol "benefit of the doubt must go to the angrier batsman"

Great commentary! FWIW I reckon Morton should've been out. Sure he grounded his bat first, but then left his ground just on 0:48, before the bails were dislodged.

  • @avsfan331940 Law 29.2

    2. Which is a batsman's ground

    (a) If only one batsman is within a ground

    (i) it is his ground.

(ii) it remains his ground even if he is later joined there by the other batsman.

    (b) If both batsmen are in the same ground and one of them subsequently leaves it, (a)(i) above applies.

  • @michaelsgolf Ah so it was a missed call, one I can overlook because I still say Shivnaraine got what he deserved.

  • And now one wonders why Morton doesnt get much play these days... hmmmmm

He mashed the TIger's toe. LOL

  • Or should I say... paw

  • That was bad by Chanderpaul, it wasn't even a quick single, there was comfortably a single there, plus it's not his call, the call was loud. Justice was done in the end.

  • at least in this one the guy who fucked it up and ballwatched got punished. So crap that they gave Watson out in the recent one.

  • geez i wonder where watto and katich got that that from

  • lol

  • For what it's worth, Morton ended up 70* in a washed-out match, his highest test match score.

  • i love at 1:30 when you can hear everyone laughing in the background!

  • Great audio at 8mins...

  • hahah cheers for the awsome upload!

  • How funny is this? "Which bat touches first?" Hilarious!

  • Does it matter that Morton was not inside the crease the moment the BAILS are removed?

Regardless, I've watched this tons of times and it makes me smile everytime.

  • yeah i reckon he leaves his crease when mccullum takes the bails off

  • @989989 That is why the umpires got that decision wrong. Althoug Morton made it back into his crease before Chanderpaul, he subsequently left his crease before the bails were removed.

The third umpire screwed up by not watching the entire video.

  • From what I understand (and going by the call from the 3rd umpire) since Morton won the race to the bowler's end crease, that would mean that the batsmen crossed and that Morton completed his run through. My understanding is that this obliges the non-striker to run to the opposite end, even if Morton subsequently left the bowler's end crease.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and please cite the law while doing so.

  • Jesus, great stuff!! thanks for the upload.

  • omg omg

  • the funniest run out ever...even better thn the sehwag one!

  • Best Run out ever!! LOL

  • lol! why didn't chanderpaul just run?? he would have made it easily. what a twat

  • cuz we were destined to watch this video lol!

  • great commentating, awesome commentating. loved ian smith.

  • thats pretty poor running from chanderpaul

  • Agreed, I got pissed off at him watching this hahah.

  • @rugved1000 or lack thereof

  • Chanderpaul's bad...

  • best dismissal (sp?) ever

  • pwnage91 is a fkn idiot. y the hell u watching this eh?

  • It served Chanderpaul right. He left his mate posted

  • haha ive never seen such a thing. btw i think chanderpaul was back first

  • i think it was morton who should hv been out ... pause exactly at 6:54 or 6:55 and ull see chanderpauls bat juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust making it ... but i would say they make it back at the same time to

  • the 3rd umpire watched this and he would have a lot better quality of picture to look at, so i think he made the right decision. Thats karma for Chanderpaul haha

  • Chanderpaul must stop playing cricket for himself and start playing for his team...he makes 100 runs(not-out) in a game while his team loses the game...What's the point?

  • Chanderpaul is only player who is consistent in the team for years. He does not give his wicket easily. Otherwise West Indies will be all out very cheaply.

  • this is true...but what is the purpose of playing in a competition when you don't want to win? He starts needing 5 runs an over and bats out the 50 overs with the required run rate increasing to 14, 15, 16 while batsmen around him keep falling...then we lose with Chanderpaul not out on 100+...MADNESS!

  • I understand what you're saying 6468lee, but Chanderpaul isn't that type of a player, he's not a Gilchrist of Jayasuriya, he's never going to take the attack to an opposition, particularly in a one day game. If Chanderpaul ends up making a century from his 50 overs, then that's half the job done surely, you've got one guy steadying the ship which gives those around him the license to play shots. I understand you're saying he needs to slog more, but he's not that type of player.

  • If Chanderpaul isn't that type of player, then how come he gets to batsman number 1? The thing is, he CAN slog, but he deliberately plays for himself (since he was dropped from captaincy...like Hooper)...People need to realize that and deal with him.

A good batsman, like Lara, always give you a chance to win, as long as he is batting...His attitude is different to Chanderpaul's.

  • A key factor in 'LIMITED OVER' cricket is the ability to make runs 'IN TIME'....You can end up with all your wickets in tact but still lose the game...so...run rate is more important than wickets (except if you are playing for yourself).

When an early batsman wastes balls and faces maidens...he pressures the incoming batsmen, who lose their wickets easier.

Look at Sawan, he is a match winner and unselfish cricketer...he steers the game to victory and protects the tail-enders....

  • "For the safety of players, I say give the benefit of the doubt to Chanderpaul."

"Look at the size of the birth between the players"

    Hahahah

  • from the west indies point of view they would rather lose morton than chanderpaul, chanderpaul is the far better batsman, morton should have continued walking

  • Now Ronako is badman.. he cud have done anythin to his captain then!

  • Has anyone got a picture of this?

  • u gotta say der waz a single der

  • cor! pick that!

  • chandrepaul totally messed up the run! blady fucker

  • I think the right call was made. Morton beat him back by a hair, and Chanderpaul deserved to be given anyway, with that bonehead bit of running.

  • FUCK! indeed.

It's tight, but I think Morton's bat is sliding on the line before Chanderpaul's is put down.

And also Morton appears to stamp angrily into the crease just as the wicket keeper takes off the bails (around 0.24), making him in (!).

So I reckon Morton is probably safe.

LOL at all the laughing in the commentary box though.

  • well.. isnt morton out of crease when the bails are off?

its not very clear from the video but strange that none of the commentators bothered to have a look at their positions when the bails were off!

  • that doesn't matter because they were both out when the bails went off that is why they had to see who got back first. If chanderpaul didn't leave the crease it would have been morton out

  • As Jade said, it really wouldn't matter. I'll try to explain each situation:

If Chanderpul made it, it would mean that Morton was leaving his crease, but the keeper's end was still his. This would be exactly the same situation as if Chanderpaul didn't even leave his crease, or beat Morton by miles.

If Morton made it, it would mean that Chanderpaul should be on his way to the other end, just like in a normal run.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm pretty sure.

  • It's really straight forward. Both players left their respective creases so the first player back behind the bowler's crease is safe, the other is out.

  • i like chanderpaul as a player and a skipper but...dat was his mistake...he shud have been lookin @ morton..it waz his call...

  • they were in a comfortable position of 189/3... poor decision by morton and poor decision by chanderpaul not to follow with the single

  • easy single there!

  • it looks as though mortons foot was in the crease as the keeper knocked the bails off. whos to blame? i think chanderpaul. it wouldve been tight but if he paided attention he wouldve made it. obviously he didnt trust morton's call.

  • I wouldn't trsut Morton-didn't he shoot someone, might even have been a member of his family? He's clearly a hot-headed selfish idiot, and besides he's a crappy excuse for a West Indian Test batsman, Wouldn't have made a WI C Team if ther had been one in the 80s.

  • yeah i think ur right.

morton got his bat in first suggesting chanderpaul was out... BUT when he lfits his bat with rage he was once again out of the crease, meaning chanderpaul was in.

dont think the umpires had a chance to realise that tho. its SO far fetched

  • Solid video!!!

    Thanks mate!

Morton was proper out but gotta feel for him too

  • The Umpires made a 'BIG BLUNDER'. What an ignorant piece of umpiring. Pause at 0:48. Notice that Morton flights his bat in rage and at the same time Chanderpaul is in the crease. Now at this situation, crease belonged to Chanderpaul. Only after this, the wicket-keeper dislodges the bails. This means Morton was out. What an ignorance!

  • TRUE DUDE! Pause at 0:47. Notice that the stumps have not yet been knocked out. Now pause at 0:48. Notice that the wicket keeper knocks the stump out very easily, right at the moment Morton flags his bat in rage, and his feet are a cetimetre away from the crease.

  • oi mate, from what i know, if you ground your bat in and go back out, your not out because you have already grounded your bat in the crease, they changed the rule ever since tendulkar got runout when he went into the crease then his bat got bumped out of the crease.

  • the moment you leave the crease and if the other batsman is inside it he gets the crease and you lose the ground.

please refer to law 29 2 for more details on this.

also read the runout law 38

(alls available on lords . org)

  • No!

    Chanderpaul is out!

FINAL CALL - CHANDERPAUL IS OUT

  • upload-il com file/65054/cricket.bmp.html

add a dot and then slash

  • Oh man!

you are right! pause on 2:42

  • Yeah Chanderpaul was in first. There is a frame there that definitively proves that. Just look at when Chanderpaul's bat stops moving down and starts horizontally. In that frame, Morton's at is one frame away from being in the crease.

  • No the bat was in the air!

  • terible communication from a shit captain Chanderpaul u could hear morton say FUCK!!! in that video. Chanderpaul was a shit batter when he was captain. Why?

  • 2:43 Chanderpaul's bat in the air Morton just got the crease.

  • does anyone remember cricket max if someone has a vid of it plz post

  • I always thought that Morton had put his bat down first, which if you freeze-frame it he does. Only its not quite over the line, and by the time he puts it over Chanderpaul's is down. I think the third umpire got it wrong, but fuck is that tight.

  • well chanderpaul deserved to go anyway

  • it was chanderpauls fault!!!

  • lol!

  • haha pick that pick that lol

  • It worked with Lara, so who knows? :D

  • why didnt england employ this tactic on chanderpaul....

  • What tactic would that be?

  • the good ole fashiond "getting morton to run him out tactic" time honourd and very effective:P jokes twas just funi 2 wotch, chanderpaul is a ledge n has bin incredible recntly and im english so gope i aint offended ne1

  • sorry, but thats brilliant. bizarre but brilliant for cricket.

  • it is shit

  • What would have happened if the bails had been taken off before either batsman grounded their bat? Discuss.

  • in that case the one further away from the danger end would have survived.

  • What a mess! Though not as much as missing test match via rain, as I have done today. Be thankful you don't have to see Chester-le-Street on a reguar basis.

  • Chanderpaul wake up mate that was an easy single Morton was screaming and screaming jee wizz

  • Commentator is a legend

  • lol vettori is a crap fielder

  • even i wouldn't do that and i'm rubbish btween the wickets (im a boundry man)

  • it's morton's call. should have run

  • wtf???

  • windies are crap

  • says who?

  • "we've got three batsmen out there" hahaha

  • Thats all probably a little bit harsh. It was a real 'should I, shouldn't I' sort of run. One was obviously far more attack minded than the other, but once you go you have to go, Morton couldn't have turned back. Still, it was pretty hilarious to be that close.

  • BRILLIANT use of the F-Bomb by Morton there. Chanderpaul got what he deserved.

  • what happened and who's fault was it???

  • LOL CRAZY

  • I am actually really really surprised at the batsmen showing no form of teamwork..both just caring for their own wicket..they seem to be lacking any kind of team bond

  • the RO was chanderpaul's fault. he is suppose to say NO. no wonder why morton was mad.

  • yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh FUCK!

  • I was a little shocked at the reaction from Morton when he got out (well, not really out). I understand he is upset and angry at his captain, but he shouldn't have shown it in the way he did - there are a lot of bad run outs but I've never seen a reaction like this in public.

Does anyone know about the "team spirit" in the West Indies camp? Do they get along as a team?

  • theres no team spirit obviously because their all from different countries and they might be prejudiced against each other

  • no they only care about getting paid

  • geez thats sad hahaha

  • hus the commentator

  • Great clip. Good decision by the 3rd umpire IMO.

  • reardonville is right, morton is out, his bat is in the air, the stumps werent broken at the non-strikers end, i got no idea what u r on about adi87tya. and no the ball is not dead wen the stumps are broken. get ur rules right

  • That's pretty funny really - and embarrassing. And why is everyone debating the rules? I would've thought the two umpires on the ground, plus the third (TV) umpire might have a clue about the runout rules...they got it right to me by the looks of it. Chanderpaul was the last player to recover his ground. Morton slammed his bat into the turf after the bails were dislodged. Strange, but funny... and I wonder what was said as Morton came back and Chanderpaul departed??

  • no but the stumps were broken at the bowler's end...so that's the one that counts...because the ball is dead once the stumps are broken, discounting overthrows...

  • well, when the keeper finally takes the bails off, mortons was wacking the bat into the ground, as his bat was in the air at the time,

  • chanderpaul to blame all the way and who close what that lol.

  • mate bondy would have got them both out a few overs later

  • what the hell

  • Chnaderpaul desearved to be out for being a dick and not running properly and trusting his mate's call. I think umpire basically decided that Chanderpaul deserved it. Looks like Morton was on the line when Chanderpaul brought his bat down, but justice was done.

  • football n rugby is shit...da only american sport that is kinda fun is basketball...

  • i agree, basketball is probably only fun sport to play and watch in my opinion

  • wtf? who the fuck plays cricket?! american football and rugby all the way

  • dude...move the rock you been under!

  • whats the fuck is the point of the game any ways??? i mean shit i was confused as hell when i saw the fucking video

  • ur mama with my father

  • i play cricket u fucker

  • I'll have you know that I derive a lot of pleasure from cricket and my googlies are a delight to behold.

  • Just so you know, no one gives a shit about 'American Football' (the ball is barely touched by the players feet anyway) outside of America. Cricket is the #1 sport of Asia and Commonwealth-based countries.

  • All american football involves is some retard guys who are henched, one smart guy the QB and some guys who can catch a bit all it involves is throwing a ball to a line socring then going back........wanker

  • You mean you "couldn't" give a shit - if you could, then that means you do care. But I digress, I shall assume you meant to say that you couldn't give a shit and I would say you obviously do care because you have gone out of your way to view a cricket video and make comments regarding the matter. Get a life?

  • Well said bgussey, I don't know where this incorrect phrase has come from, but it seems common place in the States for people to say "I could give a shit"...no you mean I couldn't give, but then you can't expect too much from people who took the letter U out of so many words because it was confusing them. Also "pwnage" bgussey is right, if you don't care why bother looking at a cricket video, and they don't have runouts in any other sport so you were definitely searching cricket pages.

  • obviously, you can understand "sarcasm" because you are to busy trying to act "smart" to realize you are actually quite "stupid" if you are fed up with my "quotations" too bad because i hate "cum stains" like "YOU"

  • I don't get how you Americans use "could give a damn" instead of couldn't. That's completely going against the point.

  • am i seriously still getting shit for this? for christs sake, fuck off already god...

  • haha i love west indies.lol

  • lol, that wuz crazy. Chanderpaul deserved it. Morton had that run

  • HAHA CHanderpaul is an idiot for not running a clear single .. BWAHAHAHHAHA deserved to get out.. jackass
