I love variax line 700 guitar, i think it's a very good choice for metal and all differents styles of music,because you can edit the sound of your variax with the software of line 6 Variax Workbench you can add humbucker on virtual strat and many others possibility,but for myself the most important thing is to have a great amplifier or pod xt,boss gt-8,v-amp,because you can have more differents sounds. I do use a Pod x3 live through different amps, and yes the pod does have some really nice sounds :) I'm going to buy one of their amplifiers soon to

I'm sorry for myself i use the first pod xt,line 6 have pretty good amplifier and i think the pod x3 is a good gear to have,it's a very good choice.

Rock on my friend,you will not deceive by Line6 materials.
