  • Rest in peace brothers we really had fun having you guys around. I lost my virginity to you and i can almost assure you it wasn't a bad experience. Nairobi will never be the same again.

  • like this masomo

  • There was a time when modern East African Music was at par with Congolese Music. The time was in the 1960s and 1970s. Then Congolese Rumba made triple strides forward whilst East African Music stagnated. But listening to this song one must give thumbs high to Les Wanyika. This is one hit that transcends time. And incidentally you could give this hit to Nyboma and he would love singing it. This is good Tanzanian Rumba.

  • Manyangajoe walikuwa wanapiga pale Shade hotel karibu na satellite. Du wakumbuka kweli mpiga saxophone Luza ndiye baba.

  • I would travel from Mombasa to Nairobi every other week end to dance les wanyika at Bombax along ngong road early 90s.Can not believe they are gone .R.I.P.Guys full of humour who lived their lives to the fullest.

  • This song is in the last Album of John Ngereza's Les Wanyika AMIGO. I happened to visit Ngeza's village MASHEWA in Korogwe district, Tanzania in 2005. His mother was still alive. His father also was alive living in the nearby KIZARA village. He mentioned Mashewa in his track MAMA MZAZI and Kizara in SIONI WALA SISIKII. John Ngereza you are still with us, singing for us, Rest in peace.

  • @mawenzi Thanks for this info. I remember when he died in 2001 or thereabouts, they simply announced: "Tunasikitika kutangaza kifo cha John Ngereza wa Orchestre Les Wanyika. Mazishi yatafanyika jumanne katika makaburi ya Lang'ata." I thought he had no immediate family. Love his songs. His "Afro" hit got me a wife ;)

  • @mawenzi Asante Bw.

  • @mawenzi thanx man! I did not know he was born in TZ! In music selling shops around nrb, his music is still a daily diet. A tribute to a true artist!
