Jerry Goldsmith composed this theme in 1978-79 for 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture'. It was later used for Star Trek TNG (as opposed to re-using the old-school theme which wouldn't fly even in '87) This game must have ripped it off in '81.....unless it's a Star trek game but not likely.

yes, but the Power Up Energy bar Theme was from Flash Gordon movie. Reference the Hawkmen scene when Flash was riding the Sky-Cycle (Masters of the Universe ripped off the Idea amd made the Sky-Sled for He-Man)

Throughout the 1979 Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the theme had many variations. I always thought the best one was during Kirk's flyby past the upgraded Enterprise. It's played slightly slower and I think it is by far the best rendition. I found the soundtrack album in the early 80's and played that track to death. When TNG used it as the titles in the late 80's, I was sick of it by then. :)
