They obviously made the biggest sacrifice in terms of casualties, but America gave them a huge amount of supplies, both military and food, which was vital to the Russian side. My point is that all countries were vital to success.

Also, the Soviets didn't even declare war on Japan until August of 1945, too late to be of real help. Also, Western troops did enter Germany via the Rhine. After the Bulge there were really no serious German forces left to stop western operations.

That, and the largest tank battle in the world was at Kursk in 1943, a year before the allies breached the Atlantic wall, let alone get into and hold Belgium. At Kursk, almost 2 million soviets and about 700 to 800 thousand German troops and tens of thousands of armored vehicles, artillery, and aircraft battled with enormous losses. Jap Losses in Khalkhin don't compare to WW2.

by 1940 even the smaller cities in Europe all had crematorias available for the people who wished not to be buried underground. So of course the large concentration camps built by the Germans would also have crematorias for the people who wished to be cremated instead of buried. It would have been far more cruel to tell a person who was dying from a disease that their only choice was to be buried. Only around 12-15% of the 270,000 peope who died inside the camps were jewish.

Im not saying the armies' administrations are responsible, but individual soldiers at one point or another have committed such. At times its easy to see that during a war, soldiers may lose focus and take matters personally. I highly doubt no american soldier has ever killed a surrendering soldier, and thats a war crime. @AlienFirefox While you are correct in saying that the Soviets sacrificed more than anyone fighting in the east, and they did do the most damage to Germany, they still begged for a western front to be opened to divert German troops away from Russia. Also, the Soviets didn't even declare war on Japan until August of 1945, too late to be of real help. Also, Western troops did enter Germany via the Rhine. After the Bulge there were really no serious German forces left to stop western operations.

That, and the largest tank battle in the world was at Kursk in 1943, a year before the allies breached the Atlantic wall, let alone get into and hold Belgium. At Kursk, almost 2 million soviets and about 700 to 800 thousand German troops and tens of thousands of armored vehicles, artillery, and aircraft battled with enormous losses. Jap Losses in Khalkhin don't compare to WW2.

by 1940 even the smaller cities in Europe all had crematorias available for the people who wished not to be buried underground. So of course the large concentration camps built by the Germans would also have crematorias for the people who wished to be cremated instead of buried. It would have been far more cruel to tell a person who was dying from a disease that their only choice was to be buried. Only around 12-15% of the 270,000 peope who died inside the camps were jewish.

All nation committed war crimes. Americana, Japan, Germany, and Russia were all guilty of war crimes during World War II. Joseph Stalin killed more innocent people than the Germans did. Go figure. Japanese POW camps... how many Americans came out of those alive? Germany killed millions in the Holocaust. @ChristianWarriorUSA Every nations army has bound to have committed a war crime at some point. Im not saying the armies' administrations are responsible, but individual soldiers at one point or another have committed such. At times its easy to see that during a war, soldiers may lose focus and take matters personally. I highly doubt no american soldier has ever killed a surrendering soldier, and thats a war crime. Don't take my comment as a personal attack, I'm just saying.

But there is 2 sides to everything.One person living in the netherlands could have felt very happy to be liberated.Another person who is simpathetic to the germans might not be so happy when they are liberated by the americans.As for war crimes, many countries comitted them.The trials to deal with war crimes were sometimes poorly executed,like forcing confessions.
