Mate i would not have the guts to be flying in the areas ur flying. I'd be so worried that the heli might fail or that I myself would fail, and the thing would tumble down and through a skylight or a front window of one of my neighbours. Of course.....if that happened I'd immediattely ditch the TX and start weeding on the spot......denying any involvement whatsoever in the sport of RC Helicopter flying. :-)
Yes, odd, weird, bizzare, crazy, strange, surreal, mad, wicked, floopy, stupid, confused, unseasonal, fish, drugged, psychadelic, drugged,oh I said that already:), etc,etc
Thanks Richard. I too have found that if I learn it on the sim, then just a few seconds at a time for real, I get to have many more flights without repairs. :)
Thanks for your encouragement.
PS. I will upgrade at some stage..500 or 600 size ...any thoughts, comments, reccomendations etc?? please.
500 class is great! Batteries don't cost too much anymore. ~$50. I like the Trex500, but I think all the 500 class craft are good. I am finding FRP blades at $12 a set also which is great. So crash cost is about the same unless you fry a servo or ESC.
600 class I would go nitro I think, but my friend Garry flies the T600 electric and loves it.
This is fun, and impressive ... watching your skills improve. Before too long, the neighbors won't have to call their children and pets indoors when they see you out there flying your heli! :)
The ACME flycamone2 that I sometimes use on the bike would be perfect for heli vlogs. It's 640x480 30fps video is pretty good quality, considering it only weighs 37g. Quite cheap too.
Yeah I'm thinking about it or the version 3 with the optional wireless transmission to a ground based video/goggles. Problem with it is transmits on 2.4ghz...same as the heli! not good.
Quality of the FC 2 is similar to my old Nokia N73 phone that I'm using. It weighs about 150 grams & tends to stabilise the heli a bit.

LOL. Yeah I guess there's always that risk. Perhaps that increases the rush, I dunno. The block is too convenient to not fly there though.
Cheers.

Thanks Frank. I'm taking things really slow. Just as you have. So maybe one day i'll be able to fly as smoothly as you. :)

There is not much difference between our flight skills. I am looking forward to your next videos!
best wishes

That cloud cover seemed rather ominous. U seemed to have stability issues up high - was wind a factor at elevation?
boobtubeviewr 2 years ago
Yeah, the wind certainly does affect it..and me!
The clouds were a bad sign, the rain came after that flight, and the wind has been almost gale force for the past 2 days.

Would u describe the weather as odd in Sydney these past few weeks or no?

Perhaps NOT while I'm practicing nose in hovering though. :)

Another awesome flight mate, are u ever gonna fly it over some water? That would be exciting lol.
8cuttlefish8 2 years ago
Thanks bud.
My last flight (nearly lost it) was over a small bit of water. On closer investigation I realised it was where I had wet my pants! :)

HAHAHAHAHA! Nice lol.

Nice job! A big key is not to get overconfident in your new skills. Whenever I do, I have re-building ahead! Just a tip. You are doing great.
Keep up the good practice!

Problem is, they called their kids inside when they saw me BEFORE I had the heli!?!? ;)

Your flying is much better! and you seem more confident with it; it shows!
Keep up the good work!

Yep, a few weeks ago. There's a video somewhere on YT showing the first flight with them off. What a great feeling that was!!

Which cam did you use for this?

these videos are great, i would never have the balls to do that, would be to worried about dropping it on someone or decapitating myself :)
you certainly seem to be getting good at it, nice one :D
danmoto73 2 years ago
Thanks Dan. I've been trying to take real slow and steady and (apart from the last/lost video) flying within my comfort zone.
Yeah, that thought is there too. The only thing I've killed so far was a kamikaze insect. :)
