Ok i think you guys made a mistake about the lau lau, there is no seaweed leaves in it, they use Ti leaves to wrap it, then there is Kalua pig, not Kailua,...Haupia has no rice in it, and that so called jerky thing you were talking about its called pipi kaula

Get away from town. Go more into Hawaii.

Highway Inn in Waipahu has the best and most ono-licious Hawaiian food. Plus they've been in Hawaii for sixty years and many, many, many locals come and have been coming for generations). They have beaten Ono's in Hawaiian food (Got first place) and also have the most DELICIOUS Pipikaula.

ono is more commercial.. tourists go there a lot but i still do myself. they have both traditional dishes (like naau puaa and saltmeat watercress) and the modern stuff (lomi salmon, laulau)
