I invented a breakthrough source of energy thet violates the law of conservation of energy. I have a proof that there are phenomena that violate the law of conservation of energy. I am looking for $6M for a prototype and patents.
unfortunately, when using legos, the linkage ratios are limited unless you make it insanely large or complex. Good job for getting it to work as well as it does
Now build one that can loose 2 legs and keep going. Jansen is interesting BECAUSE of the philosophies behind his work - not in spite of them. Artificial evolution, mass redundancy, survival of the best fit ect...
Your creation is fine, wonderful - it just needs some philosophy now!
When I seen the title, I admit I was intrigued...When i saw the video, I realized it was a joke. I know kids that make the same shit out of legos. Lame.
the title was probably reffering to the guy in his comment, not to himself for making this... check out the guy in the comment, u COULD say he is what the title suggest, because he makes giant machines, like a hundred foot long, move using wind ect.
Those are sold in kits, all you gotta do is put it together,There may be a little custom work involved, but its a model that can be purchased at most hobby shops and made at home, you can also buy individual parts and add your own thought.Still and all, that robot is way freaking cool.
naggers, make your own and post it. you dont know how difficult it is until you tried it. I did but my lego is just enough for two legs, so i had to make a semi-walker.
to be honest I don't think its that brilliant, I did these kinds of things when I was in grade school, they take about ten minutes to complete, it isn't an engineering marvel or really a work of art its as you put, a funny toy
So. Tell my why nobody had such a "simple" idea before?
I mean, Theo Jansen's idea is not simple. I think it is very hard to get. The design is simple, but in its simplicity resides the genius. The proportions of the original design are beautiful.
I believe he was referring to the lego model, Theo Jansen's sculptures are amazing works of art, but this simplistic version isn't really that amazing (sorry to the author, but it isn't). This version doesn't remind me of his sculptures at all other than the fact that it walks.
that is pretty funny...nice video response. :) You should add some music to the end like they did with the real video. :) Would make it that much better.
i like how it drags the NXT around, sorta
