  • Reva defanetly had a meltdown

  • .... my name is Reva :( i don't wanna be the Slut of Springfield

  • Sucks that they are cancelling all the Soaps now. :(

  • Anyone know what made this happen?

  • @PintheDog Josh and Reva had been going out when he learned Alan Spaulding had brought her to Springfield to breakup Billy and Vanessa. Reva was hurt, and ended up marrying HB impulsively. When he learned what Reva had done, Josh was so mad that he left and ended up getting in the accident that temporarily paralyzed him. Reva was taking care of him during this time, and he was a jerk to her. At the party, he had said vicious things about her to everyone else. Reva finally had enough.

  • jesus christ. that sent chills down my spine. i was there. i was totally there. i watched that the very first time it ever aired. i was in 10th grade. ollie north was on trial at the same time. me and my cousin were toying with weed. people were into dungeons and dragons. reaganomics was a buzz-word. go, reva. GO GO REVA!

  • WOOOOOOOOOO Go Zimmer Go!

  • I love Reve and Josh. This is a great one. CL

  • The hell with Susan Lucci... Kim Zimmer is the true Grand Dame of daytime dramas!

  • I remember watching this scene when it aired on my grandmother's couch....it was as riveting then as it is now

  • Reva fan or not, this is 1 of the best gl scenes ever!!!!!!!

  • That scene never fails to give me chills. Stellar, stellar acting from KZ. I wish I could've seen a few of the scenes prior that led to this iconic moment.

  • this awsome i love this video and know on one live to live she is the slut of llandview

  • @yrforever10 Ha HA, Today Dorian called her the slut of Llanview! A nod to her most famous scene I am sure.

  • @munecojim yes i know when it is from but now kim zimmer is on one live to live playing echo desocvoy and dorian lord says to echo look who it is the sult of llanview because she was on there those years when she was not on guiding light

  • i,agree!

  • Oh my.

  • lol...reva rocked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classic!

  • I feel this scene is soooo Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Reva is Maggie the Cat and Josh is more or less Brick. Very Tennessee Williams.

  • The best part is years later when Jonathan jumps in the water fountain all angry at Reva and trying to make a scene. She just kind of chuckles in a serious way like, been there done that. I think she says "You really are my son!"

  • Great video clip. I LOVE this scene between Reva and Josh.

  • Classic!

  • This was one of my favorite shows, I really miss it! I grew up on this show!

  • I think she is amazing and I remamber being in highschool and watching that scene. I have watched GL for 30yrs and she Kim zimmer is the best around. Certainly not overrated in any capacity

  • Hey, don't get me wrong. I think she can be excellent when she is not chewing the scenery. This particular scene always just seemed overrated in MY opinion. But I have seen her act better when she tones it down and doesn't go quite so over the top.

I know I am in the minority on this one though. :)

  • Great wonderful amazing Kim Zimmer, will never forget you, thanks for all emotions that you gave me has to start with these beautiful scenes.

  • You gotta love Reva! Thanks for uploading this! Too bad GL is gone. September 18th was a depressing day for me. I cried throughout the whole episode.

  • i loved reva they threw every storyline they could at her and she took it

  • What a SLUT she is! Josh should just DUMP her! Reva is definitely the SKANKY WHORE of all time!! ;-)

  • OMG that was fantastic!

  • I watched this growing up because my mother did. Haven't watched it in a few years but still, knowing it won't be there will be sad...

  • OMG! I love this scene! This is Classic Reva!

Even then Josh couldn't accept her for who she was.

I'm gonna miss this Reva! :(

  • kim zimmer reva shayne remain unforgettable in my heart

  • This episode was actually broadcast on Monday July 30, 1984. The July 31 episode was where HB had his talk with Reva wishing he'd met her about 20 years earlier so they could start a family.

This was a time when GL was at the top of its game and had me glued to my seat. I have a good bit of material in my collection from 1984 including this episode into mid August. This was also the beginnings of the Susan Piper/cottage storyline.

  • PLEASE post those shows if you could! My brother and I were going to the same technical and I went to his place and he was watching "Guiding Light" I thought he was crazy! But, I was intrigued and started watching too. That was 30 years ago and have been a fan since. I sure with there were a way to watch some of those old shows again! CBS can kill the show but it will live forever in our hearts. Thanks for the post!

  • Look people... the reason why she had the accent back then was because she was supposed to be from Oklahoma.

  • this is bizarre

  • It may be bizarre to you because you have no idea what was going on at the time on the show.

  • yeah

or because its weird no matter what

    or the show blows

    one of the two

  • What happened to her accent? hahahahaha She doesn't talk like that NOW!! LOL!

  • my mom said she started watching gl becuase she saw this scene when she was flipping through the channels one day she was hooked after she saw this so i grew up watching gl.

  • i love great actress kim zimmer

  • It ends right before it gets really good!

  • WOW! that woman can A-C-T! but the southern accent is confusin me...

  • CLassic sceence

  • The scene afterwards is more powerful and hearwrenching too me..When HB pulls Reva out of the fountain..talk about tears flowing..even Joshua is crying

  • ABC and CBS are competing huh..

like it..they shows are more exciting..

  • Wow that's Kim Zimmer? I barely recognized her. She seems to have a heavy Southern accent in this clip. Now she doesn't have one.

  • i love love love this show and this was one of my favorite scenes....BEST COUPLE IN SOAP HISTORY REVA AND JOSH

  • gosh............I loved this show!!!!!!

  • one of my favorite scenes of all time

  • Help save Guiding Light.

Write letters, send postcards on April 16th. Email, Phone, do what you can.

    Thanks

  • It is too bad this is not the "Guiding Light" that is still on the air today. While the show has had a long, rich history a little piece of history will die on September 18th. The show has been given a very LONG window to wrap stories up, I hope that there are some surprises for people who watched (especially in the 80's during it's heyday) for so long. RIP Guiding Light... you will be missed :(

  • I LOVE this scene between Reva and Josh. It is soo sad to hear that Guiding Light has been canceled.

  • That was one of Kim Zimmer's most famous and most powerful scenes. She truly is a terrific actress.

  • I wanted to cry with Reva WOW!

  • REVA IS THE BEST ACTRESS EVER... i love her soo much... guiding light would be nothing without her

  • She actually seems to be a pretty decent actress compared to US soap standards.

  • I love Reva. That's a BAD dress!!

  • I remember sitting with my grandma and watching that scene when I was 8 years old. Reva and Josh were always my favorite couple. I miss those days, when soaps were great to watch.

  • Wow... one of the most famous scenes in American soap opera history. This was the scene that made Kim Zimmer a superstar in the world of soaps! Unforgettable. It makes me sad to realize that soaps today are a sad shell of what they used to be during the 70s, 80s & 90s.

  • Especially GL and how bad it is today!

  • @MiguelDante i totaly agree the 70's and 80's were defanetly the romance period in soaps.

  • This was some of Kim Zimmer's finest work. It's a shame to see the show in the sad state it's in now.

  • 2bad GL isn't like this today.

  • i baptize myself the slut of springfield isn't that right joshua? man was that so priceless

  • This is classic!!! WTG Reva!

  • Did that scene bother you b/c it was not filmed outside at real country in a real pool? WEll according to the folks at Procter and Gamble it should have. B/c now they would film that outside with awful lightening and awful music then wondered why everyone did not get it. The actors and the fan(s) are being cheated.

  • Kim Zimmer is the best n Daytime she is alot better then Susan Lucci.

Whr the hell is Annie???????? she really needs to comeback to the sho.

  • Hell, GL has alway's been my Fav Soap, I was 13 when I first started watching it and Im 44 now! Kim Z is the Best!

  • The sets on the show were so much better back then...GL doesn't really seem to have much money in their budget for decent sets these days. I mean, look at Harley's house!

  • U r right they really need to do something and get back on top whr they belong. GL hav the best cast wit the best Storylines they really need to do something really soon.

  • I wish I could write a soap storyline half as good as that.

That acting she did was so believeable, these actors on GL can't do any of that today, and the writers can't write like that either today.

  • I think Josh is the slut of spring field now.

  • kim zimmer is the best ever

  • Great scene. Great acting.

  • I actually remember watching this episode with my grandmother.

  • PLEASE TELL ME IF ANY1 HAS THE CLIP OF REBA WHEN SHE TRIED TO COMMITT SUICIDE BECAUSE OF THIS! THE SONG WAS "SOMEWHERE" (My sister CRIED because of this!!!!)

  • This is the best show ever and she is one of the reasons i still watch. Her acting is like no other on the show .Well now johnathan's up there with her ha haha no the whole show is great and the cast is fantastic.

  • i love kim zimmer, but has she ever not cried during ANY episode???

  • Hey, a sign of a damn good actor/actress when is when they can bring on the tears at will... Damn I hope I can be THAT good someday.

  • I love Reva. She made sluts beautiful!

  • awesome

  • wow

  • Oh my God...!

  • I love Reva's son Jonathan's version of this.

  • What did Jonathan's do that was like this...

  • when Jonathan did it it was when he revealed to Reva that he is her son and not Sandy! That was a great scene because she jumped in and said, I'm the 1st to get in here!

I wish I was around at Guiding Light's Golden Era especially of Nola/Quint fantasies!

  • Jonathan jump in the fountain and made a scene just like his Mama.

  • I was only 3 years old when this aired, so I didn't get to see it until now. This scene proves why Kim Zimmer is an Emmy Award winning actress.

  • I remember this clip & the clip of her suicide attempted afterward (A REAL TEARJERKER.) I also remember when she won the award for it. She ran up on the stage, kicked her shows off, laughed, gasped, hypervenilated, & cried a river... tears, snot & all! She's the gr8st. No1 can EVER compare!

  • Thanks for posting! I've heard about this classic GL moment, but never saw it...i've only been watching since 2000 or so. God, Reva is so matronly now...BRING BACK THE SLUT OF SPRINGFIELD!!

  • Well sweetheart, what do you expect? This clip is about 25 years old. I remember... I was in h.s. @ the time. You must not have been born, yet, when this aired. We all age... & so will you.

  • i am proud to say i saw this episode the day it aired. i was all of fourteen at the time. they don't make soaps like they used to, huh?

  • Awesome, thanks for posting it

  • That scene right there is the difference between Kim Zimmer and everyone else!! gawd, she is good! Great scene... wish we could have the writers back to go witht the actors.....sigh

  • That was definitely an Awesome video, I rated it a 5.

  • this is classic , dont think they have had many scenes at the country club in a long time! i always wished i could be a spaulding

  • Wow. That was something else. Don't make them like that anymore.

  • Not for nothing was it not the most defining moment in Reva's history.

  • Half of my childhood just came back in a three minute clip! Guiding Light will always be my favorite show, and Reva will always be the drama queen to end all drama queens. Thanks to whomever posted this~ it's possibly the most famous clip in Soap Opera history. This is what good daytime is made of!

  • Damn that was good and i dont watch GL but i must say that was GREAT

  • I've been a GL fan since I was a kid (the babysitter was a GREAT influence), Reva & Josh have always been my fave characters - thanks for posting this clip - it's a classic!

  • Wow! That's was good!

  • Now this is a classic!!! This is when soaps were GOOD!!! Kim Zimmer did a wonderful job!!! I miss GL being this good!!!

  • haha. i've only seen the show for about 4 years but that was a little weird. lol

  • I love this scene it is truly one of the greatest scenes in Soap Opera history! Kim Zimmer did and outstanding job because she really truly is one of the best actresses in daytime!!

  • I wish Josh and Reva would get back together again. Someone needs to get rid of her slut sister Cassie.

  • Terrific scene! Reva was quite a character back in the day.

  • These two are the greatest! I can see Kim Zimmer winning herself another emmy this year! She is awesome!

  • This scene is what landed Kim her first Emmy as lead actress. She would later go on to win three more, and it looks like she's going to do it again this year. She's really doing great work!

  • Actually it's not. It's Emmy rules that an actor must submit all scenes from the episode they use to submit themselves for consideration for whatever award. Kim never submitted this episode because most of the episode was party/group scenes where she did nothing and said very little. She actually submitted another episode.

  • This woman is a great actress. I've been watching her for about 20 years.

  • I had the honor of meeting both Kim Zimmer and Robert Newman, along with several other GL actors two years in a row at Kings Dominion. These clips are a reminder of why they are legends in daytime.

  • I thought I'd NEVER see this again!!! WOW!

  • Kim Zimmer is still the best!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this - I can now say I've seen it!

  • This moment forever cemented these two characters into soap history, if not tv history

  • I remember watching that episode way back when. Thanks for the memory. ;-) (my kids now say I'm old because I can remember that far back into ancient times.) ;-P

  • That was an Awesome video, I rated this video a 5.

  • I think I remember this. I thought I only watched it from about 1986. It's no wonder I remember it. Josh n Reva were my favorites. Stellar performance! I love all the josh and reva break up and remake up scenes.

  • This is the best moment in daytime history.

  • This Moment drove both of the actors to Superstar Status

  • i'm loving the texas twang.

Kim Zimmer is in a class by herself.

it's crazy how a single character/actress can reinvent a tv show that had already been on tv for ages.

    but she certainly did.

    & how...
