Well, the referee gave 2 Unsportsman-like conduct calls. If they were both on #17, then he was ejected (NFHS rules). I think they could have handled the situation better as a crew.
The final ruling was that it was a delay of game penalty for fighting for the ball to long after the refs said that it was over and unsportsmanlike penalty for tossing the ball.....
The video may or may not be altered... I attended the game that night and was unable to hear the call from the stands...thats all i am saying......
.....No i am not disputing that the TAPE SHOWS the palyer was ejected!.... ALL and ALL the player was not ejected, therefore he was able to play against Union, Taylor, and West Gadsden! ALL I KNOW IS THAT I LOVE FLORIDA HIGH FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Injuries are part of the game...Florida High knows first hand and you don't hear them conplaining! Taylor lost and the better team won! I think every team in the district wants the better team to go on and represent the disrtict well!...Go Noles
Florida High beat Union Co. 24-20 using an ineligible player.
TCHS beat Union 28-12 despite playing with a back-up QB and back-up center because we didn't bend the rules and risk playing an ineligible player (JV QB who was 7-0 and held out the night before, but who had suited up for the game and participated in warm-ups).
Are you REALLY claiming this video was altered to input sound that matches up with what happened? wow!
so, you are not disputing the player was ejected, but you are disputing that the tape shows the player was ejected??
this isn't about the FH-TCHS game or outcome...congrats on a hard-fought 7-0 win....this is about that game and outcome being meaningless if we all played by the same rules.
Taylor County just wants the Championship handed to them....The game was played and the better team won.... why is that so hard to swallow?!?!... Both teams worked hard.....One wanted it more than the other....NO FREE HANDOUTS!! Got to work for it!
I am not saying the penalties are not true...what i am saying and you are not answering is that the tape is untrue....as you said ..."the tape does not lie"
did you like how I edited in the official signaling the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and how I changed the field markings to make it seem that a 15-yard penalty and another 15-yard penalty (half the distance) was marked off?
That is what i have been asking the whole time..why would Fl. high's fans start to cheer after the two penaltys against them...does not make any sense....just asking...thats some good editing!!!
Looks Ejected to me!!! The Big Bend Officials have some explaining to do! The have always helped out the Tally schools. The Big Bend Officials should be put out of business!
Off-base? I just want to know how you can clearly hear the ref. i was in the stands that night and was not able to hear the ref...just want to know how that is... but anyhow, good luck to Florida High this Week vs. Walton county.
Is your argument that the ref didn't actually eject the player in question? I didn't think anyone was questioning that at this point--all parties seem to agree that the ref just didn't report it to the FHSAA.
famu40, you're off-base here. You're the only person claiming this video was doctored. To my knowledge, even the FHSAA isn't denying that this video appears to accurately reflect what actually happened. In fact, the only school accused of doctoring video in this incident is Florida High.
As we all head out for a bite to eat and then make our weekly procession to the glowing lights of our local high school stadiums to watch our respective favorite high school boys, sons, nephews and fellow student-athletes take part in the great sport of football, I will leave you with this:
"He who sacrifices his conscience to ambition burns a picture to obtain the ashes." - Chinese Proverb
We have once again received a lesson in how things work with the FHSAA.
Dr. Dearing has notified Taylor County that the playoff brackets were finalized last Saturday (Nov. 7) and the FHSAA will deal with the problem (official changing the call/failing to notify schools and the FHSAA) with the officials association.
Our HC and AD represent Florida High and High school football very well! You can call and ask any coach that Florida High has played in the past 7 years and they will tell you that, Hickman's team plays with CLASS and INTEGRITY! Hickman is a class act guy, not selfish nor would he put him self in front of the program, which you are stating he did!
(read below first) So, even though he never played a down in the JV contest the night before, Taylor County refused to play or even bring the JV QB to the following night's game to avoid any appearance of impropriety and risk any chance of having to forfeit.
How stark of a contrast is that with the situation seen above and described below?
Oh yeah, you didn't address the fact FH now admits the referee changed the call AFTER the game.
Here is an example of how to play by the rules: The night before a district game vs. Union, Taylor's starting QB is hospitalized. The head coach calls an assistant at the field to stop the undefeated JV QB from playing so he could be available the following night.
They hold him out from the game, but research the rules and call the FHSAA for a ruling just to be sure. Taylor is told that if the player dressed out and set foot on the field he would be considered to have played.
I guess the two flags, two unsportsmanlike conduct signals and the ejection sign made by the umpire is edited also. It is not about being scared....it is about doing the right thing and everyone playing by the same rules. famu40, Good luck holding your head high as you support this type of disregard for the rules.
Give it up! Florida High is Dis. Champs!! Oh yea you still did not answer how you can hear the ref from 75 yards away so clearly? Guess it was edited.... Guess if i knew my season was going to end in the first round i do the same!! lol...Scared to play ol' PC!
On Nov. 10, FHSAA associate executive director Sonny Hester told the Perry News-Herald the case was over, but on Wednesday, he gave a WCTV reporter a different story.
"There's always a way for it to be re-opened, but that would have to be re-opened by the executive director who's not been in the office yesterday, nor will he be in the office today, nor will he be here the rest of the week," Hester said.
A video tape of the game, which was aired Wednesday on WCTV, seems to leave no doubt that the player was ejected from Florida High's contest against Starke-Bradford on Oct. 23 following two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
FHSAA rules state that an ejected player may not compete in the next football game.
But the player did compete the following week in a game against district foe Union County.
BREAKING NEWS! Taylor County High School Principal Michael Thompson will seek a court injuction against the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) to overturn an earlier decision that allowed an alleged ineligible Florida High player to compete in a district game.
Union County's principal and superintendent are willing to join the suit.
Thompson said school funds will not be used in the legal action as a local citizen has stepped forward with the funds. Two Perry lawyers are involved.
Fla. High's principal now admits the ejection ruling on the field was changed to a delay of game and 1 unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
This "un-ejection" occurred after the game following a discussion between head umpire Tanner Holloman and Florida High Head Coach Jarrod Hickman.
All of the FHSAA decision-makers are out of the office until Monday, Nov. 16, when it will be too late to correct this injustice. Congratulations Florida High! Great job!
this video was edited! there is no way that you can hear the ref clearly from where the camera is....the camera is positioned in the loud, crowded (due to Homecoming) stands...again there is no way you can clearly hear the ref as if there is a mic on him. ..By the way why was this brought up before the Taylor game?! Sore losers? Taylor County loss= Florida High CHAMPS!! All i know is..i love Florida High Football!
It is time that someone step up, admit a mistake was made and stop attempting to sweep this under the rug.
The public perception of the FHSAA, the Big Bend Football Officials Association and Florida High's administrative and athletic staff will be tarnished forever if this decision is not revisited.
Two different appeals have been filed with the FHSAA on this by both Union County and Taylor County. The FHSAA continues to maintain there is not enough evidence to rule there was an ejection and the BBFOA maintains there was no ejection (no "17's OUT), no "DOUBLE" foul....just a delay of game penalty and the foul for spiking the ball.
Head Umpire Tanner Holloman states he does not recall doing any type of ejection sign?
Big Bend Football Officials Association President David Strickland was the sideline judge that night and reportedly backs up Holloman's story?
Can FHSAA's Executive Director Roger Dearing, Peggy Jones, Sonny Hester and Gary Pigott sit down, watch this video and look ANYONE in the eye while saying, "We don't have enough evidence....It could be a delay of game and unsportsmanlike conduct penalty...Case closed."
The evidence is overwhelming, yet the Big Bend Football Officials Association and the FHSAA refuse to use the video and audio evidence to make the correct call, continuing to maintain "there was no ejection" and "there was one flag for delay of game and then another official threw the other one when #17 spiked the ball."
This video shows he points to the Florida High sideline and shouts 17s out while giving the universal hand signal for an ejection (thumb up, throwing his arm over his head).
To make the case even stronger, officials mark off the appropriate yardage for two dead ball unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
Ball rests at Florida High 38 after the recovery. (38-15 = 23 + half the distance to the goal would be 11-1/2 more yards). When play resumes Starke is between Florida High's 11 and 12 yard line!
After officials signal Starke recovered, Florida High #17 throws the ball in disgust and the umpire is shown pointing to him and then the sideline, just after another official throws the second flag.
After conferring for several seconds the umpire clearly gives the signal for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and can be heard yelling DOUBLE while pointing toward Florida Highs sideline.
5) The yardage marked off clearly indicates a pair of 15 yard penalties (and not one 15-yard penalty combined with a 5-yard delay of game, as officials now claim).
6) The game film sent by Florida High to Taylor County mysteriously cuts off during the pile-up for the loose ball after the fumble and resumes just before the games final play.
7) On this version, #17 does not participate in the last play and can be seen on the sideline talking to Florida High Head Coach Jarrod Hickman.
What is crystal clear -- after viewing unedited video of Starkes 13-10 district win over Florida High -- is that under FHSAA rules, Florida High should be forced to forfeit a game and the District 2-2B title for playing an ineligible player after he was ejected for back-to-back unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
But, for unknown reasons, officials working the game, Florida High coaches and now the FHSAA are all denying the ejection occurred despite overwhelming video and audio evidence.
What would motivate a high school umpire, his fellow referees and the president of the Big Bend Football Officials Association (BBFOA) to cover up, deny and lie about what actually transpired in a high school football game?
Well, the referee gave 2 Unsportsman-like conduct calls. If they were both on #17, then he was ejected (NFHS rules). I think they could have handled the situation better as a crew.

1) How is it that the ref was so clearly heard from so far away? saying "Double"

3) why does the video get louder when the ref starts to make Unsportsmanlike signals?
