HDV is not the easiest format to edit, SDV footage is right now. HDV simply uses up major resources. If you invest in an HDV camera be sure to upgrade your pc.
The Canon HV20 rocks in every way. It does HDV and DV and will also convert AV to DV. Has a micophone jack and headphone jack. Records in 60i or 24p. It'll also take 3 mp photos to MiniSD, even while recording to tape. Has AV in/out,HDMI,and Component out + firewire and USB connections.

Disagree. If you have a decent computer, made in the last year or two, it will handle it fine. If it doesn't you shouldn't be filming HDV
