  • I too am an inventor, and I'm actively working on creating something that will make sense in a world of the future.

  • Great talk - fantastic speech - the 40 hour work week came out of the The Popular Front, a French coalition of left-leaning political groups, invented the 40 hour work week as part of a larger labor law in 1936. A similar law was adopted by the United States two years later.

  • Another inspiring speech by Tim O'Reilly. I really appreciate his effort to expand on "What's Important?" Mad props for using zero-sum theory "make more pie" metaphor, one I use a lot. I really appreciate his establishing that working on something important also means having fun!

  • great work and great inspiring talk as always sir, much appreciated, thanks for all your work in bringing your amazing work to the world.

  • I really like this. Hearfelt and on the money.

  • Whoa there! While Ford Motor Company did adopt the 40 hour work week before its rivals, Henry Ford did NOT invent the 40 hour work week. That came out of the labor movement, a reaction to the Industrial Revolution.
