Thanks a lot for this advice! Wish I had seen this video before. I'm in 2nd year of university, so far it's been soo bad! I'm definitely going to try this method for the next semester before they kick me out!
I used to use this method back in high school and never studied for tests because I already knew all the course material. I'm in first year uni now and got lazy and crammed before every big test. I'm definitely going to go back to this method; it really does help!
This has worked for me, great tip. I did what you advised and i'm now the highest scoring student in my Economics degree, and i don't stress/cram or any of the like. As soon as i saw you were Asian ...... i just knew this was the key to an A*.
Review everything? Everytime? Is that really necessary? Most students have to pull all nighters and cram because they don't learn the new material given when assignments are assigned. I think that if you do the assignments and assigned reading on time, you should be okay. Then, when finals come, review EVERYTHING at least one week before the exam. The material you've learned, you already understand; you just need a refresher. I don't think it's even possible to REVIEW EVERYTHING every time...
@angelifyification I as well as many others did exactly what you think is impossible - review everything - no more cramming needed :) The more and earlier you review, the faster it goes since you know the material quite well. Do what you want - I've already graduated with two degrees and just helping others get through their school years as well.
Gonna be hard but I'll try my best to start doing this. It actually makes sense, tehe amount of material you study is massive so review is a must. I'm not doing well in my first year :(.
How much should each study session be? What if class don't accumulate previous stuff when time goes by? Still start on day 1 to present? Or should I start after midterm to present?
1st question: would this apply to English course (essays), and math? 2nd question: what if the class does not accumulate after a test is taken? Lastly how many hours should a study session be? Thank you for your time.
@masterdomike English - depends on what the final exam is, if there is any. Math - most definitely if the final covers everything in the year. Hours - up to you. When I was a MBA student, I made it my full time job. Hours, I'd probably do an hour at a time and then take a break before another session. Depends on how much you can handle at once.
I'm in my 3rd week of school and I still have yet to start my work. I've got a couple of assignments that are due in the next couple of days and 4 midterms in a span of 2 days in about 3 weeks. Im worried that I might not be able to study everything on time. What are some good ways for me to review/study in a timely/efficient manner?
@Krazyisthebest Sounds like you'll have to bite the bullet and take your lumps for the stuff coming up in the near term. As soon as you are done with them, I think you will benefit greatly if you implement the strategy in the video immediately. That way, next time heavy stuff comes around, you won't be cramming like the way you do.
Review? As in read through every single thing on that day? Do I memorize everything as I read as well?? Thanks alot for your advice! I'm taking my papers in about 2months time and I'm very worried:(
@celes001 Depending on volume, you might not be able to get through everything in a day but yes, the idea is to keep studying everything since day one (assuming that exams and tests can cover everything)
how will this work when i have an exam on wednesday?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!???? i guess i will have to do this for my next exams.. :) thanks anyways BACK TO CRAMMING
@clintleung i have been prepping for a good while now but i don't think its going to be enough :( what are some of the best ways to remember things? i can't concentrate for long when i am just reading things, should i do mind maps? bullet points of things? past papers? oh im stressed lol
@mvpmuch1992 As the video suggests, you should not be prepping just for upcoming exams. Instead, you should be studying all the time whether there is a test coming up or not. This will get you in the habit of reviewing and the more you review, the more things will sink in. Don't compare with anybody else. If you need more time, then so be it. Location is also important for focus. You might have to find a better place to concentrate.
my audio is really bad for this video and the link on facebook.. I don't think it is my computer because I can listen to music from playlist.com with out any problem....
issue: it sounds like you are whispering and it sounds like you are also getting muffled through the speaker
@MrLachubakabra Just checked it and it seems fine here. The one thing is that this vid was mistakenly recorded in mono rather than stereo so you might have sound coming out from only one speaker and your balance between your two speakers might be a bit off. But so far others can hear it.
@clintleung got new surround sound for the computer. I can definitely here it now. my old speakers.... speaker(one of the cords got torn out so there was only one speaker) were kind of old, broken, and just really bad for doing much of anything. but I can here it now, crystal clear. again, great advice. Im in high school now and I can see that this will help out a lot. a major problem with studying is that people just aren't responsible enough to take the time to actually study.. I do for sure
indeed review is one the best methods to keep info for a long period but I do drugs so I will always be god :)

@masterdomike Try to find out from your prof what the finals will cover. If he/she says everything - then the answer would be obvious.
