The reason that roll overs were so gentle on this bend, was that it is a Left Hand turn, followed by a Right. They were far enough apart to pick up the oscillation started on the first bend and help it swing even further.
To make thing worse and because many long loads cut the corner (going up on the pavement), the council also put in a high curb! The net result was if you hit the curb just at the point the trailer was swinging left, the extra lift would gracefully topple the whole lot over!
The roll over was very gentile and the unit was only superficially damaged. They collected it with an other unit that took both the trailer and the damaged unit home. I know the tractor was repaired (because the driver popped into see us on his next trip) and I think they also repaired the trailer.
