I have an original 1993 blues deluxe, and I've been considering on trading it in on a Super Sonic. What's your thoughts on that. Does the Super Sonic or can it have Have the flaver of an old blues deluxe.
ive been looking at these and i think its retarded to say you wont buy it over a hot rod because its too much hiss i mean come on THIS IS ABOUT 100 TIMES MORE VERSATILE THAN A HOT ROD not to mention the tone is way better and you can get those rocking distortion without a foot pedal thats so uncommon now adays on fender amps they put it all in one i understand if u dont always use distortion but eventually u will and wouldn it be nice to not have to bother with a foot pedal?
I'm interested in this amp or a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. I want a great clean tone and reverb but I like the vintage look of this amp better. Which would be the better choice in anyones opinion? Thanks.
@fenderfan15 DRRi has much better reverb than SuperSonic, try it yourself. Clean is excellent in both amps. The SS has a really sweet and versatile overdrive channel, when the DRRi has a vibrato channel and 4 inputs. SS has an fx loop. How it looks is just a matter of a taste. They aren't so similar after all.
I tried one of these in the shop along with the new hot rod deluxe, I have to say I took the hot rod deluxe home, partly because of the hiss and hum that was coming out of the supersonic, hot rod deluxe is almost silent, I have the hot rod on 3 in my house which gets a really good sound, I would have had to have the sonic on 5 to get the same, but the sonic on 5 was hissing like mad, the hot rod does not hiss till its on about 6, and 6 is just way to loud in any house lol
@TheTangentUK the sonic smoked the hot rod on overdrive mind, but I only play on the clean channel anyway, so it was of no use, now the hot rod is 2 month old it has worn in a bit, and the clean channel now is to die for, its proper bell sounding on my strat with vintage duncans in, you can get all them twin reverb spanky sounds out of it, I think the 60 watt sonic sounds totally different to the 22, but 60 is to much amp for house usage
@TheTangentUK I think you have a good amp mate, and I know some people don't mind the hiss if it's giving out a killer tone, but I know I would mind it, as I like as less noise as possible feeding back through the amp, I spent £50 on a MOGAMI cable just to get every bot of sound transfer i can without getting any unwanted noise, maybe I expect high standards, but for a £1000 amp it should have no his at all at low volumes, are you happy over all with the amp,
@TheTangentUK have you played a hot rod deluxe, if so how do U compare the clean channels on both, I know if you want an all rounder your amp is better, as it is more versatile.
i love this amp so much, but do you think it has good volume for playing small clubs, or is it better to go with the 60 watt version? thanks!

Is it true you only get a 1 year warranty on this amp in the UK but 5 years if you buy it in the USA? If so that sucks, shame on you Fender.

The hiss and hum is only an issue when you're not playing.

fender provides the best quality amps for a much cheaper price then some of the high class EXSPENSIVE ASS tube amps with better sound in my opinion

I love the clean and the crunch tones!
The high gain setting though....it's just not my style.

I think the 60 sounds better.. and the 22s apparently have a tendency to develop a nasty hum over time

@psychopsilocybin1983 so far, 6 months in, my 22 is working fine. But I had to return it twice due to quality issues :(
