Actually...no. If you were trying to spell "than" but you used an "e" rather than an "a", that would be a spelling error. An example of a grammatical error would be "The house are red" rather than "The house is red". Are we good? Spelling a word other than the one you intended, still counts as a spelling mistake. No because then and than are spelled correctly but not used in the proper context making it a grammar error .
