you dont want it super tense or super loose, you want it semi loose but tight enough to get the pressure to do your scribble........................THATS WHAT SHE SAID
ok...i watch this vid. b4 but i just cant seem to get the scribble without my needle jumping around ........i watch the tutorial on how to weigh it correctly and everything so it aint that .......can any1 help me? btw i have a set of gemini XL-120 MKII turntables if this helps ......thanks
Check your needle make sure its not growing a dust afro. check if the hole in your record is a bit too big, Will kinda make a noise as if you were tapping the platter when you scratch. could be the grooves are a bit worn down or a scratch if its an older record.
If ur really interested in timecoded vinyl (allows you to play mp3 on vinyl decks) then look up serato, but seriously its guna put another 300 quid on ur set up cost, just look up battle vinyl unless u have money out ur ass :D good luck
u get scratch records which are anti skip, so the needle always lands on the sample u were usin if it skips ,if ur new to it i advise gettin them .But u can use any record !!
@Iamthemessiah23 All scratching affects the vinyl over time.

Gclown18 3 years ago
The Technics 1200's he's using retail for about 500 each new. Plus you need a nice scratch mixer (minimum 300$ usually)
DjDulcet 3 years ago
unfortunately, anything that is at least pro-sumer audio equipment isn't cheap... prolly about 300-600$+ new

when you scratch can you just scratch any random record or do you need a special vinyl just to scratch with?!
S4Mo8 2 years ago
you could use any old vinyl. but they make special timecode vinyl records which is a little easier imo
JumpStop1 2 years ago
ok thanks very much would you mind leaving a link to a good one to start with because i have absoloutly no idea ? thanks.
