Hey man. The streamer looks great to me. The streamer hook you did use is size 6.
Most flies etc. I make them with the brand Tiemco. The size of the hook depends of the brand. So,...what brand did you use for the streamer hook? When I'm finished I'll let you know how it worked on the pike in The Netherlands. Greetings and tight lines.
@dutchflyfisher - The size of the hook and the make and model is irrelevant. You can use any size of hook for the upper half of the body - it just depends on how big/small you want the body to be. How did this pattern work on the pike out there?

Thanks for the post. I'm fishing rivers and streams 99% of the time. In early spring, the water is still really cold in CO so I either fish my streamers on the dead drift or with an extremely slow strip. (When fishing the dead drift, cast upstream and keep just enough tension so you can feel the 'grab'). That time of the year I fish mainly natural, black, or white streamers. Once that water starts warming up, a faster retrieve will get those fish chasing. Good luck! Where are you gonna fish?

I live in California so I mainly fish the Sierras. Crowley lake in late april. Also Hot Creek, the Owens river, East walker river, and the Kern. My grandparents live in McCloud also so I usually get to fish the Upper Sacramento, the McCloud, and the border section of the Klamath. Where did you get the polar chenille from?
You can get polar chenille at most fly shops. Its also available on some online fly tying sites. I've heard some great things about those rivers. I fished the Trinity and the Lower Sac last year and it was a blast! I need to get back out there... I was planning on getting some more patterns up this week and I'll make sure to put up my Shadowfax streamer. Thanks for posting and let me know how to the Natty Light works on the E Walker. I hear there are some big browns on that river!
Ya dude the Lower Sac is always fun, tons of species in that fishery. The E Walker and Hot Creek were exactly what I was planning on using these for. The Walker is definately notorious for some massive locals that sit in some deep holes. A buddy of mine was guiding and got a picture of a close to 30" brown that had slammed a zonker. When they landed it the they noticed a tail of a rainbow it had just eaten hanging out of its mouth. It ate the bow then decided to slam the streamer.
