@chaffXgrenade I didn't think I'd be good at bullet hell games, but they're so fun and easy to learn. It's surprisingly easy to dodge the bullets, because you focus on what's near you and use your peripherals to spot the general location of the boss. The only time a bullet hell gets hard is when the patterns trick you, like heading in one way and then quickly turning around, even then...if you know the bullets change directions, it's easy to dodge. Give these games a shot ^_^

@chaffXgrenade Bullet Hells appear on a wide variety of consoles, the PS2 is sort of famous for those type of games but if you get into Touhou, it can easily be played on the computer by downloading it off Rapidshare. Most of these games have a "focus" button which makes your character move slower, meaning dodging arrays of bullets mostly becomes focusing and unfocusing between the patterns. You could try Touhou 12.8 first, freezing the bullets comes in handy, even if some can't be frozen.

Try Imperishable Night (8) first. If you go to 12.8 first, you will scream in rage. It's much, much harder than the other games because it requires a LOT of coordination and concentration.

And unless you play on insane, a lot of attacks have openings (albeit small) that you can use without freezing. I guess I might follow your advice and play 8...maybe after EoSD ;-D

You'll like EoSD if you can get into it, there's a patch for it that will give you a hitbox dot like all the others to make things easier to identify. Just take it slowly, I guess? Still...12.8 isn't much like that. Cirno's freeze ability is nice, and a central part of things, but it takes hella skill to get the hang of. You'd have to be good and Shoot the Bullet, at least, to be able to really tackle GFW at anything.

@MMBNM If you're seasoned at Cave shooters it probably won't be too hard to get into. There's a fuckload of bullets but in return your hitbox is much smaller (at least it feels that way to me). The PS2 version has a very easy mode but even if you've played a bullet hell before you're still going to get owned on your first 1cc attempt unless you're very good.

It's not as bullshit as Psikyo shooters though...
