I just gotta ask.... Do games look better on the PS (the original big gray one) than they do on the PSone (Smaller, white)? Because i used to own the original PS, but sold it oh so long ago... Recently i picked up a second-hand PSone (it was cheaper than the PS) and i find that every game looks alot more pixellated than i remember.....
I get a wash of nostalgia when I see this, like Im 8 years old, and I remember when the psone was new, battle arena toshinden, tekken, ridge racer, wipeout etc. those were the days.
Omg. I can't believe that this is on youtube. I remember playing this one and the dinosaur one, the dinosaur one scared me because I was about 6 at the time. I loved this one though.
god this and the dinosaur demo's absolutely blew me away. in fact when i first got my PS1 besides Ridge racer and crash bandicoot I loaded up the demo more than any other game :P
I used to think the t-rex was always way cooler but looking back at this one i much prefer it, more stuff going on with the fish, nicer colours, more interesting music, eerie yet relaxing, ahh the 90s..............
" Note this video is captured from REAL Sony Playstation, not from PSone, PS2, PS3 or from any kind of emulator crap - but from the original grey box that you need to position right in order for the laserdisc drive to work properly. "
I still have 2 Working PS1's, 2 PS2 (big and slim) and a PS3. Butt i do emu. to sometimes because there's lots off great PS games that i have misd like (Tombi,Blood lines,Kula World,...).
You can now purchase old ps1 games on the ps3 via the ps3 store. And to my knowledge there are no inaccuracities. The games play, load and feel just as the real old ps1. I also have 2 original playstation. one pal and the other pal with a chip so I could play burned and american(ntsc) games. The memories.
Software emulation on ps3 might accurate but even ps2 with ps1 parts fails on some rare occasions. These things are almost unnoticeable or appear as 'glitches' - like for example in Roller Cage stage 2, ps2 fails to show menus same way as in ps1.
@captainvideoblogger Nah, emulation the isn't perfect. Squaresoft games always seem to cause problems. I'm playing through Final Fantasy VII on my PS3 just through laziness and there are quite a few graphical glitches and boundary boxes not being transparent on certain doors and backgrounds.
Also VIII doesn't even boot up! Maybe my crappy PS3 version but it just sticks at a black screen. So I just use the PS1 for it which I got for £2 in Gamestation with a dual shock! =D
This video is like someone jacked into Ken Kutaragi's head while he was smoking a joint in the early days of PlayStation. Lots of imagination in those days, lots of ballsiness.
I can remember playing this demo when i was five. i loved this and the dino kinda used to scare me. This music used to make me cry also, in a good way. Man this was the best demo over in my days :) xx does anyone know the name of the relaxing song ??
Does someone know where i can find the videoof a black glass man walking him self to death to some DnB music or something, i remember it was in one of those PSX demo discs :P
Does anyone know what this game is called; on the demo you are playing on a carnival-stage, it's a first-person game where you play as a rabbit-looking creature who shoots arrows (not with a bow, more directional-looking arrows) who also jumps REALLY high, you were able to advance to the second stage on the demo in which a flying red dragon shot fireballs at you, PLEASE, does anyone know?
I remember being off my tits on several , coming home and putting this on. I became totally overcome with emotions and started to blub....! Thanks for uploading this, I lost my own copy about 12 years ago.
@subbb85 Hear hear. They were all very iconic like the music for the first few levels in Tomb Raider, the intro and first level of Soul Reaver and really anything from FFVII. Now technology has improved, everything has kinda flatlined to standard. Though maybe we'll feel the same way about 360/PS3/Wii in 15 years time, who knows. =P
I had two disks, demo 1 and demo 31, and on one of them i remember an arcade about pirate ship and on another there was something like egyptian style fight...if anybody remembers, give me a name of these pls!)
erm, i remeber putting this on when i was like 5 or 6 so i could listen to the music lol and i still got the demo i put it on like 1 and a half weeks ago so i can bring memories back to life
and down memory lane we go. This is indeed from the very first PS1 demo ever. Outside of japan at least. Anyone know if and where I can get ahold of the music used here as a MP3 file?
aww i remember every day i was 8 and 9 years old i always listen to this and t - rex. Then i play command and conquer 1 and i have just the gdi disc and now i only have the nod disk...
Holy crap! Memories! haha, me and my cousin was like ''Woooow!'', since we could move the camera while the manta ray was swimming and shit. I loved the dino to, but this was better. Thank you for bringing back memories, dude!

Yeah, but emulators don't show 100% how game was meant to work. Even PS2 fails to emulate somethings perfectly.

Ye you kind off right. I was emulation crash bash and when you pause game there's nothing to see you cant see options and stuff
