OKAY PEOPLE! Who cares about these differences. Would you like it if you saw a movie that was EXACTLY the same as the book? no, that would be boring. They had to take out a lot because who can fit an almost 400 page book in 2 hours? Nobody, that's right. Who cares if it's different than the book! You should be choosing wether to like it or not based on the graphics, effects, story, etc. not if it's like the book or not.

i saw this movie and it was a major disappointment everything was wrong. I admit, after seeing the movie, it doesn't really matter what they look like, but everything was wrong! Ares wasn't there, Percy used the flying shoes, i mean, CLARRISE WASNT EVEN IN THERE! THEY JUST SAID, YOU'RE THE SON OF POSEIDON AND THEY PUT HIM IN THE CABIN! AND LUKE HAD HIS OWN CABIN! It was a good movie it doesn't matter if its not like the book the fact is PERCY is in there. ANNABETH. is in there GROVER is in ther Chiron, Mrs Dodds, Luke, Hades, Zues, Poseidon. If you didn't want to watch the movie Why did you Luke hates hes father hermes Thats the point they put it in there to make everyone LAUGH don't you get it If your the dumb to realize that then don't BOTHER like the show i liked it.

@IcyRose79 my comment was right. how bout u read the books over and see the movie again, because if i remember correctly, clarrise and ares were NOT in the movie, and percy NEVER uses the flying shoes in the story. luke shared a cabin with the other hermes kids in the book, and percy DIDNT know he was the son of poseidon until he was chosen in his first capture the flag game. so dont say anything unless you know what ur talking about.

half the story was removed-kronos never mentioned,clarisse never there, ares was never met or fought

annabeth seemed like such a minor character(alexandra didddario was a good actress)

hades wanted the bolt back not his helm

it was summer so why was persephone was there and it was summer not winter

Yeah saw the movie today and it was just horrible. Nothing like the book. I expected some parts of the book to be left out honestly but nothing like what I saw.

It's nothing even like the book, they only got one of the 2 evil ones right and they even messed him up.

Added scenes to movie that weren't even mentioned, just complete disaster, very disappointed.

Really expected this movie to be decent success right under twilight and harry potter.

Ok honestly, who cares how old they are? who cares what color Annabeth's hair is? I think clicking the pen was easier to show then uncapping it, but still no big deal, Medusa was in her emporiam if you didnt notice, it was beside the forest. And a looking into an ipod instead of a gazing ball is not that different, but its easier to carry an ipod in your pocket then a gazing ball. and honestly (again) what difference does it make what color Grover's skin is?

O yeah, I find a few ironic situations here: Sean Bean, whoa since when did he go from coward (lord of the rings) to most powerful god? And poseidon, didn't they describe him like an older retiree that lives in hawaii? He looks more like a gladiator. Steve Coogan as Hades, I gotta say, that was probably one of the best choices (inside jk). And hasn't Aphrodite always been blond, like in all greek books they describe as blond. Shit...way to take the essence that is the book and rip it apart...

Harry Potter got the characters spot on but this is just gonna be like Eragon, another epic fail. Seriously If they do plan to make another, I hope they get new actors but it would make a bit weird.

As a big fan of the books i think its gonna suck the dude who wrote the screenplay, his biggest achievement was writing ONE episode of star wars tthe clone wars WOW the rest is all documentaries. however chris columbus is directing and he did the the first two harry potter movies which were very good. but clarrise so far as i know will not be in the movie and they have all these gods that werent even in these books c'mon jeez do it right or not at all!!
