  • I own 1 of these and 1 of the JW version, love both of them. Yes, they are big, and bulky but lets face it, my gaming friends all envy it. My only complaint is I bought the jw version before the 3de version came out, but that was my own fault.

  • I have 2 of these laptop and typing on this keyboard sucks

  • "portability of a notebook" as someone who owns a gaming notebook, weighing in at 9.3 pounds, that is a stretch. More portable than a desktop, yes, but not as portable as a traditional notebook.

  • Haha, they don't have a legitimate copy of windows..

  • love this laptop. if i get honors roll this year i'll be getting this beast.

  • @iPodkilledMP3 Yep, the headsets, mouse, and bag aren't included. Mine, (the rbbxo5) was refurbished, and it didn't come with anything besides the laptop, and power "brick". But everything worked fine anyways, and its easy to find a cheap good solution for a lappy bag, mouse, and gaming headset...

  • This is the most OWNAGE computer i have ever seen in my life :D

  • on the monitor is the orange port same as the yellow one on standard tvs

  • nice video

  • no its because the bestbuy version doesn't come with ASUS' warranty, a few pixels isn't going to adda 400 dollars.

BestBuy doesn't give a very good warranty, but ASUS gives a 2 year warranty, and 1 year accidental damage worldwide.the reason BestBuy is cheaper because the don't have that coverage, and they only have 2 dimms instead of 4 dimms for RAM, and there is no wimax on the 850 version, plus the screen resolution.

  • this moniter is good for xbox 360

  • you can get it for $1200 at bestbuy, and even 850 if you get the Factory Refurbished model

  • @joecloud1

This is because the resalution is 1600x900 when the version on newegg is more because the grapics are better which is usally 1920x1080

  • @joecloud1 different specs... and the BST version doesnt come with accessories

  • @joecloud1 true that

  • a CAR!

  • the laptop is so kick ass but the monitor, am I misheard something cuz i heard 1000:1 contrast ratio, i believe my monitor has 50000:1 contrast ratio

  • @bogellenong thats "dynamic contrast ratio" which is much different than typical ration...most monitor are 1000:1 typical...dynamic is really for movies and really is a marketing gimmick...dont get wrong though...it will look better...but not too much.

  • @SneakRaptor not professional, just actual good tools and watch a few youtube videos lol, i mean hey thats how i learn these days, highschool is just bs compared to youtube learning lol

  • Hey, can anyone there suggest me a Good Gaming Laptop.. But Considering that it doesn't cost that much.. I want to play those new games that requires a Good Specs.. Thanks

  • @Abiic07 haha this is laptop is one of the best for the money

  • @Noxingaming Maybe other model or brand that cost a little lesser than that.. thanks

  • asus is awesome

  • @SneakRaptor Yes technically it can be changed, the recent JW model already have nVidia 460 gtx m 1.5Gb ddram5, =a bit weaker card than the ati and have 20W higher power consumption. It have also 1x usb3 which the JH model don't have. Disassemblage video :watch?v=Tp90M_N6dzs

  • Does it have a metal or plastic body?

  • @NelielTuOderswank the body has a rubberized surface. 360 degrees.

  • what happens if u pull the screen back too far on the g73....

  • @CrawlingCoconut Chuck Norris appears and Bitch-slaps You i the Face

  • Hey. I am interested in buying an ASUS G73Jh-A2 just like yours, but I am a bit of a scratches/scuff marks freak, so I am asking you if it is prone to scratching under normal use (I am worried about that rubbery finish).

    Thank you in advance.

    PS: nice reviews!

  • @yatsumoto My friend has the same lappy and abused his ipod touch because as long as it works, he keeps it, just about with everything else. The laptop is in great shape but everything can get damaged. The computer has no scratches and thanks to the matt finish, no fingerprints or visible light scratches

  • is the screen, 16/9 or 16/10?

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra i believe its 16/9 at least i think thats how i have it

  • Where can i find this laptop?

  • canada at best buy is 1700$ i do not know about every where else

  • i thought it said GIFT on title.... I expected something for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • i wouldn't take that thing to school XD close your eyes for a second and it'll be gone.

  • The G73 is too much for a grad

it's like "Here son/daughter, this gaming laptop is for you going to college, it can play any games you want in virtually anywhere, so get good grades in your classes in college".........

  • 1:01 wow that really sounds like his own experience and not something someone wrote down :)

  • Mac's are the best!

  • the G73 is just fucking beast, not just because of its rockin specs, but the design of it is based on the fucking F-117 Nighthawk! Asus makes quality stuff :)

  • i would probably bet $200.00 dollars for my grad my family are cheap S.O.B .

  • Got my G73 last thursday for $1500. For a desktop replacement, that's effing cheap!

  • sure its a great pc and all but you cant move within 2 steps from a power source because that thing DEVOURE'S POWER . but why not just buy a cheaper notebook for decent gaming and just spend most on a gaming desktop. hell just spend all on a desktop and just get a netbook!

  • @grandtheftauto4123 Sure sounds like a plan, but sometimes people want gaming on the go, and a netbook doesn't cut it. This also seems like a perfect grad present :)

  • gift for ~ 1500 $ ? omg my mother earns 500 $ a month..

  • just buy a mac!

  • @da3coons the basic ASUS G73 is way better then any maxed out mac

so why would any sane person buy a overpriced mac

  • @da3coons Mac doesn't have any gaming laptops...

  • It has a dedicated turbo boost button at the top left that when pressed, oc's the i7 720QM to 2.8Ghz. This will increase frame rates big time. xD ASUS FTW!

  • @GTXNate Actually, it goes up to roughly 2.8 on it's own. The Turbo overclocked mine to over 3.1Ghz. So, yes, big boost, though it gets mighty hot when you try it :)

  • @Driadon0 Oh rly, cool.

  • Another american that cant say asus! Its not ''Asoos''!!!!!

  • Ha, I actually did get an Asus G73J for graduation.

  • the keyboard not very good as there are misses when typing and the fans are impossible to clean. A1 sells without software and movies freezes very often.

  • this is a great laptop. I have the asus g73jh-a1 and the starcraft 2 beta runs great on it.

  • u can find this 4 1520$ at other e shops like provantage or abes of maine or xoticpc

  • @rayinz101 why would you ? when bestbuy sells it for $1299

  • $1800!?!?!? *head explodes*

  • @RaperahamLincoln 1180 at best buy check it out u go from 1920x1800 at 1600x900 and only 1 500GB HDD and 6GB RAM vs the 8GB for $600 less check it out

  • thing woops the shit out of my computer

  • Wow I'm sure that gets HOT even with that extra protruding cooler thing. Though obviously everything in it is the mobile version like the 5870. Still I think laptops are made too thin these days just to look good and say hey buy it it's light and thin.

  • #LOL @ Video Game Counsels.

  • #FAIL 3:54

  • @ALEX2009poli HaHaHa Video Game Counsels.

  • too bad the asus looks like something from the 90's

  • @maxflamehead not so much not nearly as ugly as other gamin notebooks

  • Speaking of the devil. I graduated today. Hahah

  • How long should I game for after I graduate before I should start applying for jobs?

  • @SeikoPsycho Why can't you do both? I literally know doctors who game at home, and their job is much harder than most people's.

  • why dont you guys give something away

  • I just got all my parts from NewEgg today and my motherboard has problems even posting... -.- I was looking forward to testing out my new GTX 470 too. At least all the other parts work, but without a working mobo it's kinda pointless. *sigh* >.>

  • 8 fps heaven demo loooool, well it is a laptop after all

  • @xcelpast 8xAA is hard too run

  • the thing that he missed was that it has turbo boos which can pass 1.6ghz

  • Well as far as the VW266H goes I do have one. For a computer monitor it is great, for true hd programs it is pretty good. For lower definition programs like tv shows and the like it is not well suited at all. My Samsung 226BW's are much quicker with response times no matter what the specs for the Asus say they are. To me the Asus seems like a 5 to 7 ms monitor not the 2 that is advertised. it's also missing the crispness of the 24" Asus. From 5 feet away it is great.

  • Don't get me wrong, this is a BEAUTIFUL computer by ASUS, however, the only thing keeping me from getting that instead of a UL50VT is the fact that I am graduating and going to college. Performance is great, but a necessity for college is a battery that can go for more than 3 hours. I really think this video should've been showcasing the UL50VT instead of this one since its specifically targeting students who want performance (and good battery life)

  • @nintendude7cubed That's why you get TWO laptops lol! Basically the G73 should not leave the dorm room (also to prevent theft). It should stay plugged into the wall/ethernet 24/7 to game/write papers/surf the web on. Your 2nd laptop should be a netbook with 8+ hrs. battery life for ease of portability as well a taking notes in class. (Let me tell you from personal experience, a netbook is PERFECT for taking notes in class because its small size gives you space on your desk for other things).

  • Not really something I'd recommend for 80% of college students. Most kids here do nothing more than homework, videos, and music on their computers. The Asus UL30A is more than enough for the vast majority of people.

Of course, if your kid does love to game, listen up to this video ;)

  • 1.6Ghz i7? Yeah, maybe it will beat out a desktop made today if they are installing an ATOM processor in their desktop... Bring me back when that thing has a 3.2GHz i7 processor or equivalent inside.

  • @theslvrbullt buddy this is a core i7 with 4 cores on a god damn laptop. they cant increase the clock speed as they will have to increase the max wattage which will force the battery to be larger and more bulkier. now do you want a laptop that weighs 20 pounds?!

  • @mohsun123 No, but they shouldn't say it is better than most desktops on the market. Don't get me wrong, if I could buy it, I would in a heartbeat. The thing is still more powerful than what I got right now. Then again though, my PC is years old.

  • @theslvrbullt Thats at stock. It can over clock itself as asus calls it "turbo mode" to about 2.8Ghz. That ofcource if your plugged in a outlet. On battery it would run at 1.6ghz.

  • @Peetah16 That sounds more reasonable. I forgot about Turbo mode. *owns a EEE. Facepalms forgetting about Turbo mode on it*

  • @Peetah16 does running turbo mode on the laptop 24/7 kill the cpu faster then normal?

  • @Parknutzz Turbo Speed disables some cores and overclocks the remaining cores depending on the application. It isn't doing 2.8ghz on all cores.

  • @theslvrbullt Ghz speed isn't everything, a Q6600 at 3.0ghz is equivalent to a i7 at 2.0ghz.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol $1800. So cheap grads will probably get 2 or 3 in all from all of the people who give them gifts.

  • @MediaJunkie92 THATS ALL?! WTF (BOOOM!) screw the m11x XD

  • @MediaJunkie92 Bestbuy sells this laptop for $1299 not $1800.

  • @audisport in Canada here it sells for 1699.99 holy crap! I checked the US site for best buy and they only sell for 1,199.99.....that's bull!

  • @Maxcloudy Yeah I got it for 1299.00 and then a couple days after they decreased the price to 1199.00. But I was able to get my money back. =D. THe computer is alot of fun. Maybe they have an over supply here so they decreased the price

  • @Maxcloudy Well, if you are unfortunate enough to live in Sweden (Northern Europe) this system will cost ya roughly 2700 US dollar, so i'd consider myself lucky if i were you.

  • Thanks for including the benchmarks! Big and ugly in my opinion, but must be awesome with that i7!

  • ASUS laptop? pssshhhh, come on newegg, just admit it. You guys bought too many and no one wants them.

  • @bweazel its a great laptop its just too expensive and unnecessary for this economy

  • @sbvikings30 i agree, even though you do get portability... with that kind of money, you can get a beast of a pc gaming machine. Well, personally it's go big or go home, but with others it's not the case ;)

  • Would you guys hurry the hell up and go public already so I can make some money?

  • if i had this i wouldn't get any study done lol

  • I dont like laptops, but if i were to recommend any laptop this would be it!

  • I have that monitor, its awsome.

  • All i got for my graduation was a beer and chinese food.

  • wight what about the sound that this beast will use

  • that laptop is a monster. Nice video
