@WarDemon282, I'm not too familiar with port forwarding atm, but i can look around the internet on how to do that, and yes, the connection might be an issue, though, this was an experiment on a LAN network, i mean, i used hamachi, but i was still on the same LAN network. I'll try without hamachi see if just conecting through the router without actual internet might work.... Thank you

I'm trying to link with a friend via Netplay, but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. We've double and triple-checked the IPs, have identical ROMs... but I don't know what's up. Is there a specific port you have to forward in order to make TGB Dual work? I know how to forward ports, but I don't know which port to forward!! Please help me out!

Hello, might I bother you for a quick pointer? I managed to connect 2 different laptops through hamachi, but the connection keeps crashing, after 3 times, i managed to get both games into the colosseum, but even there, the battle kinda de-synchronized and it crashed once more.... :( any help is appreciated

@resonaire I'm not sure, but it sounds like you may not have a strong enough connection with your partner. Are you familiar with port forwarding? I would suggest forwarding your ports and trying without Hamachi.

Hey, I've been trying to link up over the internet, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm using Crystal, and on my side I select server and the correct ROMs, and on the other side, I have them select client, and enter in the IP address it shows me. We both hit connect, but after waiting for at least five minutes, nothing ever changes. We do happen to have the same local IP address, could that be it? Anyways, PLEASE help me, this is driving me nuts. :(

@alecbh13 Try using LogMeIn Hamachi to connect. Enter the Hamachi IP's instead of the ones your are currently using.

now my roommate and I are connected via a router, that also goes to the internet

he has red and I have blue. but we both have a copy of each ROM, i filled out the connect box with the corresponding roms and so did he, we both hit connect at the same time. Is it supposed to work? or do I have to do something with the IP box?

@phantom12321 The person connecting to the other has to enter the other's local IP into that box. You can get this by going to run, typing CMD and typing ipconfig in the black box that comes up.

I opened up netplay, loaded in the player area (me) Poke'mon Red, and in the Opponent area (brother) Poke'mon Blue. We connected to a Hamachi network, I selected Client and I copied my brother's IP through Hamachi and pasted it into the Server IP area. Hit connect, and we were good to go.

It's slow because the emulator has to sync with the other emulator. I am in New York and the other player was in California.

I think this is actually TGB Dual Gameboy and Gameboy Color Emulator which supports link cable support through TCP/IP (even on the same PC)

the program is not illegal, but the distribution of the gameboy ROM files is. That aside though I have both and have been trying to get this to work with a friend. All that usually happens that is the music gets all funky and our emulators crash. did you ever have any problems at first?

I supposed you're using the linkable version of VBA. Unfortunately I believe this only works when on the same computer and possibly lan. Google TGB Dual gameboy emulater as it is the one that we are using in the video. It works pretty well.
