  • so beautiful, 90's music, d best

  • He looks like Tom Cruise with long hair hehe :)

  • Jack Jones (AKA Irwin Thomas) is very real and currently doing the Beatles Back 2 Back tour in Australia with some other big names.

He looks a little different now though..

  • thank you for the answer. =)

  • whats the lead singer's name?

  • @sancti78 At the time this was recorded, he was going under the name of Jack Jones. These days, he uses his real name - Irwin Thomas. Either way, great voice!

  • @sancti78 jack jones

  • One of the few most beautiful voices I've ever heard. I wish I have a voice like him.

  • EXCELLENT SONG! Very Romantic and Sentimental :) This also became very popular outside of Australia, specially in Philippines...:)

  • i know, i lived in the philippines for a year beautifull country, they have the best taste in music

  • His voice makes him even more handsome!

  • <3 jack jones <3

  • i love you .................... L**** <3

  • T-T

  • To clarify something - and maybe settle the comments in my inbox - I never said anything about this specific clip or who was in it, simply that Virgil is a drummer not a keyboard player... Calm yourselves people I wasnt disagreeing with you on this!!! :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @OzzieKezzie - Hi. The keyboards come in with the first chorus (1:20). It's just a backing pad. Virgil does indeed play keys on this clip. I used to go to their gigs every week at the good old Grainstore and he was playing an old Yamaha DX7. There's another section of the video (not uploaded) where he's visible at the keys. Just ask Irwin. :-)

  • @OzzieKezzie - I've just had another look and you can see Virgil to the right of Irwin from around 4:00 to the end of the song.

  • this is a great song so where's a descent copy of it ?

  • If any one knows, this song is off a very nice movie about a pilot who breaks her legs in a crash i think but in the end is still able to fly.. im after the name and cannot find it anywhere and cannot remember. if anyone knows, i would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks muchly x

  • @Shaneo1990 - "Never Tell Me Never" - Janine Shepherd's Story - she broke her spine not just her legs... Personally I think the book was better than the movie... :-)

  • NOSTALGIC...

  • Southern Fucking Sons!

  • All the Southern Sons Albums are now available on iTunes.

  • Best song of the southern sons by far

  • purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • This is gorgeous. Whatever happened to Southern Sons ?

  • JJ grew up and became Irwin Thomas...still extremely talented and gorgeous and sings with Electric Mary.

  • Electric Mary eh? Cheers for that mate ... off to check that out !!

  • Other way around - Irwin Thomas created Jack Jones in honor of his father Jack Goode and his mother's remarried surname.

  • beautiful song

  • Yanni, Michael Bolton, perhaps Joshua Kadisson

    hehehehehe

  • great song, great voice, good looks...what else

  • I had the great honour of following Jack Jones at a gig in 2001.... and bugger me did he make us all look like beginners. this guy is amazing

  • man.... if this wasn't on everyones mix tape you're not a real romantic

  • i dedicate this song to my someone

who still love me from now on!!!!!!

  • i dedicate this song to my soon to be husband... raymond.. i love u babe...u're the only one i love... only u...

  • i love this song....this reminds me of someone i knew and loved.....

  • i saw him in person , he is super handsome , i bought his album so great to hear everyday

  • amazing voice!

  • amazing

  • Holy crap Steve Vizard actually hosted the show named after him, wow that was rare! Nice song too.

  • Virgil Donati on keyboards??? Dont think so champ

  • You bet! Virgil is a good keyboard player. Think he got to grade 7 when he was younger.

I used to see Southern Sons play at The Grainstore in Melbourne every week and I think Virgil played at Yamaha DX7 on this song live.

  • What a prick...... one of the all time great drummers and a great pianist. arsehole LOL

  • AMAZING drummer - I got to see a live clinic of his, and he's just a machine.

  • Comment removed

  • @freezingheat27 Donati studied keys at the Dick Grove school of music in L.A. So yes, its entirely feasible he is on keys.

  • @freezingheat27 actually Virgil did all Keyboard parts on the albums as well as their backing tracks they ran live.. until they got sick of the dat player stopping on them & did away with them.. LOL

  • great song isn't it...c",}

  • glensuperdude can you get a better video of this song please ??

  • Sorry, it was a copy of a copy, so the quality is a bit lacking! I wonder if someone else has a better copy?

  • try to listen regine velasquez's version of this song :)

    she's awesome :)

  • I saw him at the old Sydney Casino with Rick Price, it was just the two of them and their guitars. It would have to be one of the most amazing musical evenings of my life. Where is he now, I can't even find a Southern Sons CD anywhere - help!

  • I find it highly amusing that you had a shot at Phil Buckle - legend guitarist and former member of SS. Wow do you know more than him to attack him like that?

  • and he is still alive he played at oz day 2009

  • His name is Irwin Thomas (although he was known as Jack Jones in this band). He currently plays in a band called Electric Mary.

  • Electric mary are fucking excellent!

  • he was married to rebecca gibney at one time

  • So is he alive or dead?? whoever he is and whoever he was influenced by he is an awesome signer with a great voice.. If he is dead he will not be touring soon.

who was his dad and mum??

  • naya....this song is for.....how i wish i could sing it but it is too much higher pitch 4 me.........basta para sau to

  • Practice, and you'll get there .....

  • For Your info,Jack jones already dead for so many years

  • Lol, no he isnt, I did photos for his band electric mary on anzac day at the bridge hotel.

Irwin thomas is his real name.

Jack Jones was a name he went under, Jack being his fathers name and jones being his mothers maiden name

  • Bull fcking shit !!!

  • Jack Jones is an awesome singer

..........and........about the best guitar player I have ever seen.

I wish this band could get back together

  • Irwin is still working as hard as ever - keep an eye on his Myspace for upcoming gigs.

  • What a huge influence John Farnham has been!

  • Actually FYI Irwin was playing in bands long before he even met Farnham. Research and learn sweetie. :-)

  • Well you don't have to have met someone in order for him or her to have an influence on your music. There are many musicians out there that are greatly influenced by Jimmy Hendrix for example, but havent actually met him since thats kind of impossible as hes dead.

  • Comment removed

  • Okay Irwin has never actually said Farnham influenced him - that was nothing more than a cute media tale that surfaced when he sessioned on JF's Chain Reaction album and tour. The man is the son of a Hollywood legend and a Broadway songwriter and dancer - he had no choice but to be born talented!!! I think you should look beyond the surface of what you think you know - maybe his friends know a bit more. ;-)

  • Personally I couldnt care less who he was influenced by. Whether it was John Farnham or Ghandi for that matter, who cares. Yes I agree he is an artist in his own right but we are all influenced & shaped by other people both dead & alive & life experiences. I just found your Research & learn comment earlier quite condescending thats all. If you really want to educate someone on a topic then teach them without being so patronizing .

  • Yeah, and Farnham is way older than him, they are both Aussie, so don't tell me Farnham wasn't an 'influence' on him, and what's wrong with that anyway? Gn'R said Motorhead, AC/DC, and The Cult influenced them, FFS !!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh BTW Farnham was born in England and only became "Aussie" on the morning before he was awarded Australian of the Year in 1988!!! As for G&R, Axl Rose told me who has influenced him the most - I'll give you a hint, they've supported the last two times G&R have toured here. :-)

  • Thank you. This song is the most romantic song ever. Leaves me stunned, speechless and teary at the awesomeness of it.

    Jack <3 Phil <3

  • you must have a southern sons vhs collection! please put more SS up on here if you have any others.

    Cheers.

  • Sorry about the poor quality. This was a dubbed copy.
