Nassim Taleb gives us a great view of the limits of our ability to predict the future... it strikes me as odd that climate scientists talk about the non linear nature of the climate system yet when they show us graphs they just connect the dots from one location straight out on a linear line to show how bad things could get if we don't change- I agree we need to change but the science seems to be too nebulous to drive the change required- peak oil is far better to drive change... same solutions

He is not suggesting that we be completely oil free in 10 years. With the given fleet of cars, trucks, planes, ships, ect it will be along time before we meet that goal. What he is suggesting is that we change where we can. We have the technology and ability do build a national network of green energy generation and distribution. This would include wind, solar, geothermal along with existing infrastructure. As time goes on the existing infrastructure will be replaced with cleaner forms.
