Yeah I know the story you are referring to. It was pretty ridiculous that the park was allowing swimming, knowing they had uncovered drain valves. And the scary thing is that nearly half of public swimming areas do not meet the code when it comes to drain filters. The weight of the water combined with the suction underneath can make it damn near impossible to free something clogged in a plug.
