i'm a vette fan and i wish to have one, but why this vid just gave me a bad impression of it? the corvette has become more like a normal sedan than a muzzle car, i mean it doesn't have the muzzle car's look, and i think even the camaro roars more that the vette

Look closely at the speedometer Sir. The large dashes indicate an increase of 10mph, at least when the car is going over 100mph. If this is true after 180mph the next large tick would be 190mph...Not 200mph. So the last mark would be doing 200mph. It looks like GM ran out of room for the numbers.
I am sure the Corvette can reach that speed, but if this is the way the speedometer is engineered. I think they could do a much better job. I think the video is mislabeled, nothing more.

If they re-released them with the new 650+HP 5.0L w/ Turbos or S'charged or both(750+), it would own hard and be a mid 10 sec car

In the video, you didnt see him bother with 6th right? Theres a reason for that. It isnt faster in the final gear because of the gear ratio. Its pulled out farther, so it wont really go faster.

@arkansasrazorbackfan Please count the speed from 0-200mph. from 0-100mph it goes by 5mph every dash. So it's 0,5,10,15...90,95,100mph. From 100mph it's 10mph per dash. So it goes 100, 110, 120 and so on. The guy in this video goes at most 190mph. Plus the people who did it even said it was 190mph. Type in Corvette C6 Z06 Top Speed and watch the same exact video. And no it does not go 200+mph. It goes 198 on a flat ground according to GM. If one or two freaks can get it they are lucky.

@MKIIProductions its not actually governed. As we all know 6th gear is an overdrive gear so it's really pointless to use if you're trying to gain more speed. The Z06 runs to 195 in 5TH. If you push all the way to the rev limiter it will easily hit 200.

@cskater18 yes, but in most 6 speeds, the 6th gear is basically an overdrive gear. The top speed is achieved in 5th gear. I read that the ZR1's top speed is achieved in 6th. Its a different transmission than the zo6.

@tietie1424 I guess I should have been more specific, the gearing in the corvette is more what I was referring to. Your Z28 may have a diff set of gear ratios. In the video, you didnt see him bother with 6th right? Theres a reason for that. It isnt faster in the final gear because of the gear ratio. Its pulled out farther, so it wont really go faster.

As a Crew Chief on aircraftsI have driven on many air strips, supervising runway rubber removal, the fastest i have gone was 70 and this is not the characteristics of any I have seen. That's a fun drive with vibrations I will never forget. You'd think they would post an outside(in car) view cam as well... i call bullshit, but vettes are my fav.

@arkansasrazorbackfan Please count the speed from 0-200mph. from 0-100mph it goes by 5mph every dash. So it's 0,5,10,15...90,95,100mph. From 100mph it's 10mph per dash. So it goes 100, 110, 120 and so on. The guy in this video goes at most 190mph. Plus the people who did it even said it was 190mph. Type in Corvette C6 Z06 Top Speed and watch the same exact video. And no it does not go 200+mph. It goes 198 on a flat ground according to GM. If one or two freaks can get it they are lucky.

@MKIIProductions its not actually governed. As we all know 6th gear is an overdrive gear so it's really pointless to use if you're trying to gain more speed. The Z06 runs to 195 in 5TH. If you push all the way to the rev limiter it will easily hit 200.

@cskater18 yes, but in most 6 speeds, the 6th gear is basically an overdrive gear. The top speed is achieved in 5th gear. I read that the ZR1's top speed is achieved in 6th. Its a different transmission than the zo6.
