"Socialism has failed." Excuse me? Try telling Germany and Holland that. They have socialist governments, and are both economic powerhouses AND more free and liberal than the US. Britain has socialist healthcare and education, as does Canada and New Zealand. All of those countries enjoy a free press, next to no religious strife, unrestricted access to private healthcare and education for those who can pay for it, and generous social welfare systems. The US has none of these things.

I hate politics. Republicans and Democrats both need each other. If our country was allowed to lean too far right or too far left it would be in a terrible condition either way. We need bipartisanship to maintain a free society. Each side is too concerned with creating their own utopia where only they ruled. @claton95 in 1945 Britain had massive debts and almost no economy after world war two but we still managed to pay for things like the NHS which have really improved the lives of less well off people over the century so i really don't see why debt is an issue

The problem with socialism is simple: The ultra wealthy don't want YOU having any money. The more money they have and the less money you have, the more power they have. Capitalism is about corporatism. Everything they can make a profit off of, they do. Which is why our healthcare system is the way it is. I hate politics. Republicans and Democrats both need each other. If our country was allowed to lean too far right or too far left it would be in a terrible condition either way. We need bipartisanship to maintain a free society. Each side is too concerned with creating their own utopia where only they ruled. i'm a canadian in an american history class and i cannot wrap my head around americans who are actually against health care. anyone have an answer for me that does not involve a scare of socialism? which, by the way, i don't understand the fear of either. what is wrong with socialism? it too promotes freedom but with an emphasis on equality. maybe i am marginalizing americans but a lot (both republicans and democrats) seem to disagree with health reforms that make me so happy i'm canadian.

@maddyheartshotmen Don't worry about what you see on Fox News. Those people are insane or brainwashed. Intelligent people are mostly for the health care bill. Fox News has a large fan base, but the people who watch it do so because they say what they want them to say, and those people are generally racists and rednecks. The sad thing about it is I know plenty of people who work hard and make an honest living who consider themselves Republicans and actually have no idea that the Republicans..

We've got the best medical field in the world right here in the USA.. now we just need to find a way to bring down prices.. you bring down prices by allowing open competition and having less regulations and less taxes.. get the government out of the medical field altogether, not a complete takeover.. Nothing makes me more pissed off than this video. Pass it around to all those who say fox news isn't a biased, agenda-based news source. I'm not a progressive wimp, it's about the neo-cons who think they can smear their way into satiating their hunger for power. The problem with socialism is simple: The ultra wealthy don't want YOU having any money. The more money they have and the less money you have, the more power they have. Capitalism is about corporatism. Everything they can make a profit off of, they do. Which is why our healthcare system is the way it is. Corporations can make a shit ton of money off your your health. Therefore, they will never pass a non-profit Universal healthcare system. They will buy the politicians out before they do it.

@Helltamirre Socialism, and by default communism is the measured doling out of monetary resources to the masses by the economic elite. Thus it is the tool of economic control of the masses by the economic elite. Hence, socialism/communism is not a movement by the "downtroden masses", rather a power grab by the "economic elite"

People watch Fox to hear a fair and honest view of the issues without the progressive slant that dominates all other news outlets exept talk radio.From the nightly news to the NYT other sources are run by progressives and function with a group think orthodoxy. Rich=selfish, White=racist, Guns=bad, Christian=intolerant,Pro-life=terrorist, Women,Gay,Minority=Victim, Conservitive=hate, Liberal=compasionate.Any right wing bias is mild when compared to the progressive bias from most others.
