  • Do you still use this fan today ?

  • @67tr876 every so often. it does work well

  • maybe a bit to much power and 1/6 hp !? way overkill

  • @jackhewitt210 i happend to have the motor laying around. its actually a fan motor designed to run a 20-24" or so commercial wall mounted ventilating / exhaust fan. its a PSC motor which doesnt draw much power but it sure runs this well. it could easily handle more blade pitch

  • youve just put the on serods

  • @jackjrx well that is a GE 1070rpm 1/6hp psc type fan motor so it not only is more powerfull but it is also energy efficient because of its psc motor which runs very efficiently

  • By my cusins house there is a box fan just like this but in a bit better shape and without the big motor. Is it worth $ 50? My mom said NO.

  • @Oldfans1 offer 35 and see what happens. if its really nice like brand new yes it is

  • It's gonna break and cut your fucking head off.

  • @Apoc897 how so? all i did was put the only motor i had that would work for that purpos on it, the motor is designed to run fans, its a lower rpm motor 1050 rpms and it spins only slightly faster than the original motor could have on high. the steel cage and box despite the rust are actually still quite solid and strong so in reality its actually quite safe. i just need to get a more compact bracket welded up to support the motor rather than the bulky wood one i have now

  • @TheBloodyKnife1 feels like it too,lol

  • yeah maybe it would have kept them in buisiness lol!

  • Whoa.

  • oh yeah! when i couldent get the original westinghouse motor working, i just knew i had to do something special for it. and i just so happend to have had a brand new GE 1/6 hp fan motor given to me! what a perfect match! its a 1050 rpm motor and its a great match to the blades plenty of power and it creats quite a powerfull draft in the barn where i use it!

  • oh btw those wood skids arent there for looks btw! without them it blows itself over.

  • Awsome! I love the wind up

  • whats the rpm rating on the motor? and HP

  • it is a GE 1/6 hp industrial fan motor which runs about 1050 rpm!

  • woh

  • The world's most powerful Lasko!! Hey! Try using a 1 hp capacitor-start, 2-pole 3600rpm motor! Betchya the Lasko will fly away!!

  • hey hey now this was my rainy day prodject!

  • thats insane are you gonna leave it like that or are you gonna look for a normal motor

  • i dont know i kinda like it. it works great! and its not as loud as the vid makes it seem! it only took me 2hrs to convert it to this monster motor!

  • HAHA! i love it! LOL brilliant!

  • what ever works right!

  • right!

  • WOW! That looks very powerful! I think I might try this with a swamp cooler motor on my Berns Air King fan.

  • i'll show how i did it in a later vid!

  • Wow now that is a lasko on steroids! XD

  • yes you are spot on! it would blow new laskos over like dominos!

  • I think I wish I could see that! I just think it would be hillarious to see all those cheap Lakewood, Lasko and Galaxy box fans fall over like dominos!

  • if i find any by the road side ill do that for laughs and score myself a free power cord!

  • Good lord man! Hope those blades don't fly apart!!

  • it's the motor from my home made fan! its a ge indusrial fan motor 1/6hp 1075rpms. so its not spinning to fast but fast enough! hey its held up to me hammering the blades straight, so this motor is nothing to them!

  • I know how bad you may want to try this for yourself but this is one of those "hey kids don't try this at home without proper safty provisions and parental supervision!" moments LoL!
