  • why do weeed to cut out hair!!!

  • 2012-04-23 MCRD SAN DIEGO

  • Finally a video of what I was looking for. Thanks, a lot of great advice.

  • i'm going to join the reserves, but my friend came back from bootcamp in Cali and he lost like 30 pounds too, he was so skinny, he said he could run a lot but yah pull ups and shit he said it was like nothing

  • you lost 40lbs of muscle? That sucks

  • I go to boot September 17th bro! Motor transport! Oooooorah!

  • @rdcole pretty much what he told you and since you're in ROTC you could join a drill teamn. In the drill teams, if you're with the A team or team 1 you have the chance to go to competitions. There are REAL Marine drill instructors that tell you the same thing. Several of them, in your face telling you how disgraceful you are. That's a good way to get used to the DI's.

  • Can you take an allergy pill in boot camp?

  • I'm still young and wondering what I should start doin to get ready for rotc nd stuff? And suggestions

  • @rdcole123 do rotc youll get promoted a rank as soon as you enlist.

  • Very true, went there myself and you know couldnt have said it better myself however i liked the hikes, and u forgot how bedrest sucks also males are sweeter on u than females.

  • Awesome video man. Thanks for making it. I'm about to be a poolie for the Marines and am pretty scared but excited for boot at the same time. I'll be going to Paris Island hopefully with an 0300 contract and want to make a career of about 20 years in the Marines.

  • Did you have peanutbutter shot? How do they give it?

  • @jldoo they give u the shot in your ass cheek and it basically gives u E.D( Erectile Disorder ) for as long as boot camp takes . many Marines Fear it xD i sure did

  • Get ready to stand at the position of attention for hours on end. Get ready for shots. Get ready to suffer because of other peoples problems. Get ready to strip down naked with other men over and over and over and over. Get ready to be humilitated.

  • when do you get to take care of heigene etc? and what are meal time procederes?

  • I ship to boot may 15th, what are some specific day to day calisthenics?

  • I'm 16 right now and I want to get my college degree before I join the marines, do I still participate in the same boot camp? Great video and thank you for all the useful information.

  • @superrcabb11 You can go through enlisted if you so choose. Which I doubt most would. Otherwise with a college degree you can go through OCS (Officer) which is different.

  • @superrcabb11 yes you do go to the same bootcamp everyone does

  • I have a question do u do the physical fitness training before or during bootcamp?

  • @mxmcbho1324 do it before make sure youre a stud before you go because no di is the same

  • @itsjohnnyb ight

  • do u like talk to your friends about it and do you ever regret joining bootcamp

  • - The individual changes as the drill instructor finds their faults, which causes their experiences to change.

Before boot camp, i weighed 160 and could only do 12 pull ups. After boot camp, i weighed 165 and had a perfect pft score with 20 pull ups. Before i signed up, i couldn't pay attention in class during high school, but since my time in basic training i no longer have a problem allowing myself to be distracted. They want to find your faults, and they will change them.

  • Each recruit's experience at basic training is different. For some, the difficult part is the classes. For others, it will be the marching. For most, that i know, it will be the stress and dealing with it while under pressure. Some of the more physical recruits will learn to use their minds more, some of the more mental recruits will learn to use their body better. It will always be different, but one thing for sure is that the recruit will get better at what he isn't already good at.

  • when they march everywhere they should sing this is my rifle this is my gun this one's for fighting this one's for fun well that's what I would do if I was just marching somewhere on my own

  • i like to run fast to i hate running slow when i run im almost in a sprint

  • btw salt doesnt have potassium in it, did you mean the sodium?

  • thanks for this video

  • Not sure if you said it, But one of the most important things is not to take it personally. They are gonna be in your face, calling you names, and generally tearing you down any way they can. If you go in there thinking they are doing this because they hate you personally it's gonna be a lot tougher. Just take in what they say, accept it, learn from it, get over it, and move on. If you get mad and stay mad at everything it'll be a rough 13 weeks

  • Your the best man !

I would die for u in a combat cuz u just changed my life !

  • Rah and kill babies devil

  • Leaving may 7th. I'll remember the banana and salt thing

  • JDuWayne SEMPER FI MARINE! I had a question if I join right away after or during high school (17yrs old) will I be given education opportunity while I'm enlisted so I can prepare after I leave the marines once I'm done my 4yrs or if i stay longer will I be able to get the education I would've gotten if I just go to college and later join the corp? Also, what age is proper to talk to a recruiter?

oh and can you make a video on requirements of joining and how it will all be done? Thank you!

  • @EliteWrestling1996 requirements for joining must do 3 pullups, 44 crunches in a minute and run a mile and a half in under 13:30....cant have any felonies, chronic illness (asma or somthin like tht) and yes you can get an education while in the military practicaly for free , and after using the gi bill. i suggest you talk to ur local recruiter he will fill u in, btw you wanna get more than the minimum ist scores

  • you look like a 12 year old or at least someone who hasn't hit puberty yet...

  • @TheDevastater1 Disrespectful much?

  • @xiiDesolate one could even say... Devastatingly Disrespectful!

  • What to expect from the military? Depleted Uranium, Anthrax vaccinations, Camp lejune poisoned water, false pride, loss of liberties. Before you go talk to the recruiter. Look up. Agenda 21, depleted uranium, police state, constitution, bill of rights, gulf of tonkin, 9/11 inside job. Then decide. RON PAUL 2012!!!

  • @MrCowboyjoe21 have you ever served in the U.S. Armed forces?

  • Civil air patrol is so fucking boring! I cant wait till I get to bt. Only 4 more years!!

  • @IRONMANNN97 They can't touch you lol. Ask anyone who's been.

  • how fast do they make you run

  • July 16th, I'll be on the Island. Man, I can't wait. I'm nervous, but I can't wait.

Anyways good video. It's good to know what family members go through and I'm thinking hard to join the military. I'm just not sure which branch yet.

  • i graduate high school in may and im really thinking about joining the marine core,a bit nervous but i want to start off righ.any tips before i join please let me know

  • @joeeuro92 Yeah spell the branch correctly, CORPS

  • Shipping out in 58 days!

  • @7waystosunday Good luck. I cant wait until I go to basic training :( Im a 14 year old freshmen

  • @ryan6627 Oh boy, yeah you have a while yet!

    And thanks :D

  • @7waystosunday haha your welcome :D Did you have the college option? My mom and aunt keep saying not to join the marines and go to college but I dont want college. What did you do? And how do you contact them/ give your info to them to enlist for the marines?

  • @ryan6627 No, not really. I mean it kinda was an option, but I had no way of affording it. My parents were pretty supportive of it, although my grandma wasn't. And if you want to Enlist it's really easy. What I did was went online to the Marine Corps Website and find out were the Recruitment office is. After that you talk to a recruiter, and he will tell you what else needs to be done to be enlisted.

  • @7waystosunday Oh lol seems easy! Do they provide transportation to the camps? And how long did it take YOU to be contacted after you submitted that online survey thing?

  • @ryan6627 It only took a day or two. And hah, they provide Transportation to boot camp and stuff. Everything after I am not entirely sure about. Haven't gone to boot yet. 47 more days :D

  • @7waystosunday Okk thanks lol :D um did you need your parents for signup or anything like that? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to know how to be enlisted ahead of time. and 47 more days until PT hell lol :D

  • @ryan6627 Well all you have to do is talk to a Recruiter and enlisting is very easy. As far as needing your Parents, you only need your parents if you are under 18

  • @7waystosunday Ok thanks lol :) what camp are you going to ship to? P.I or S.D?

  • @ryan6627 I will be going to P.I. Just like my Father did :D

  • @7waystosunday :D nice. I wish I could be there now!!!!! Im usually not this annoying but whenever i THINK ABOUT IT, i JUST WANT IT NOW! :( i guess i'll go to P.I also lol :) whats your name?

  • @ryan6627 How bout you add me to facebook? Personal message me the info. And man i know how you feel. I am so fricken excited for it.

  • @7waystosunday lol ok. My name is Ryan Copeland. It's the one with the R2D2 robot picture lol

  • can you please make another video like this

  • @majillo101 what unit?

  • @kameikazeBasher grow a pair of balls and work through it hah

  • 8:35 tf?!

  • @waterbeezy hahahahhahaha

  • fantastic video! i'd love to see some more tho

  • hey im only 15 1/2 but im thinkly hard about joining the marine corps. one problem i have with running and such is that i get dry mouth within the first quarter mile (i drink more than 60 oz. of water a day) but nothing helps, also i try to run/jog at about a 7 mph pace, but my chest seems very tight and hard to breath, and to catch my breath (i do not have asthma). any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  • @KamikazeBasher well, it sounds like you focus on your breathing too much. just relax, and inhale through your nose, and exhale from your mouth. it will be hard for you to do at first, but if you always practice it. it will help your lung strength greatly and help you give yourself a nice even-paced breathing pattern.

  • @senses71 I think your 100% right, i notice i breathe heavily through the mouth and if i get out of my rhythm its like a vaccuum is sucking the air out of me, thank you for the help!

  • Try to be the Scribe in boot camp. That's if they still use scribes. If you get in and a DI says who writes good.Put that hand up high!I had the training logs.I would write down the training schedule on the cards the DI's would keep in their campaign cover,or "hat" for you boots.I knew what was going on all the time.I also made firewatch. It also got me out of some fucked up shit too!A few perks!Yat Yas!Semper Fi bros!

  • My word isn't American at all.

  • thanks for your info man!

  • Thanks alot for the info. I got aways to go until I graduate high school but these tips will certainly help. God Bless you for your service and again thanks for the advice. :)

  • its a joke

  • 2nd person ever from my highschool to join the marines, 3rd generation in my family, and i ship aug 13th!!

  • Boot camp wasn't hard. Now ITB......that's a different story. For those of you going to the west coast, good luck lol

  • @Scmidster thanks. With all due respect, we aren't soldiers. We are Marines.

  • damn bro thanks so much for the help, this is the best video to watch before shipping out to boot camp, you helped me alot brother be safe out there.

  • I'm hoping I sign my paper in two week .. thanks for the info man

  • I salute and respect our soldiers

  • hey man i was curious about the whole swimming thing and how hard it is. i mean everything else relating to physical fitness im pretty sharp in buh ive never been that good of a swimmer, so if you could tell how bad that is or how i can get ready for that by the time i leave for bootcamp id greatly appreciate it

  • @memory713 It's combat swimming. It's a totally different kind of swimming. I've seen guys who are really good swimmers sink like rocks and bad swimmers do really well. Nothing really you can do. If you're a terrible swimmer they take you aside and help you.

  • @KitamusPrime thanx for the tip man

  • and boring there is like a hour a day of sitting down of just general orders, ranks, ect...0_0

  • I have a habit of laughing or smiling or even both when somebody is threatining me or yelling at me..........does anybody know anyone have any advice for me?

  • Shipping out July 9!

  • @3noble*

  • 3dnoble

    Mee too!

  • Any of you shitbirds that are shipping in the next month or so know what company you're gonna be in?

  • Ive wanted to be a marine all of my life, but i need to know something, im deathly afraid of heights does anyone know if you have to climb anything over about 60 feet tall?

  • @hurricanenet31 If you want to be a Marine, overcome your fear of heights. I am deathly afraid of heights as well...you just have to not think about it. Go on rollercoasters at an amusement park or do anything you can to get used to high heights. You will be fine! I overcame my fear of it and I never thought I would. But I did after spending so much time working and overcoming fears. Oorah

  • @DrBeatDrummer Thanks for the advice, i'll work on it,

  • you're totally cute

  • I'm thinking bout joining usmc then going for force recon

  • @Azzalaster Force Recon is currently under going a large force reduction

  • @emeveretts Good LUCK!

  • @emeveretts me to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @emeveretts We've got the same shipping date dude!:P

  • USMC Poolee. Nervous as hell.. :\

  • @ddead9 You sir will be fine

  • Wow, I expected it to be a little more physical. But mentally, I think you're damn right! But what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. Great vid!

  • To clear things up for people discussing minimums, the minimum to pass MEPS currently is 2 pull ups (12 second arm hang for females), 44 crunches, and a 13:30 1.5 mile for males (10:30 1 mile for females). All fairly easy to obtain. With that said, specific offices sometimes set their own standards depending on how many people are enlisting. If they need people, they might DEP you high risk (not meeting those standards). Other offices will make you do 5 pull ups before they take you to MEPS.

  • Age 17-29 I think

  • quick question for someone to answer im 21 and my cousin is 23 and were thinking about joining are we to old or is it not a problem?

  • @xmeat youre good.

  • hey marine this is something I wanna know if your from another country for example australia like me do you get dual citizenship by joining the corps just wondering

  • @911911ification You do get American citizenship once you become a Marine.

  • Well I'm a girl and I'm 13... I think I want to join the marines but I'm still young and got alot of choosing to do but nah I rather try to join the marines. Screeming I'm going To have to get uses to i guess. Well good video an it teaches me what I have to get ready for. (:

  • @27grunden MARINES YAAA I AM ALLMOST 14 AND MARIENS ARE SO AWESOME IA M GONA JOIN WHEN IAM 20

  • @3dnoble WAIT WHAT THE AH CRAP I MENT TO PUT THAT NOT ON SOME ONES CHANNEL THAN A DAMN IT SORRY MENT TO PUT THAT ON SOME THAN ELS

  • @3dnoble

    haha why 20?

  • hey marine good video your a good soldier and I respect you and people say that American military run around afghan villages killing people and people say that America is bad just cause there is a couple of Americans working for terrorists well you have bad people and good people in every country but I don't say America I say terrorists cause if you say America you are also blaming a lot of people who are innocent hell even if 911 was set up by president bush it does not mean America is bad

  • @gearheadd318

Is 26 years old too old to join the corps? I know the cutoff is 29 but I'm referring to the judgement from peers. I have talked to recruiters and the funny thing is they treat me like I'm a 50 year old. I'm in good shape and everything so pt is not an issue. I'm just concerned about being looked at as an outcast or weirdo.

  • @raiderweazl420 IDK, I'm a poolee so I haven't even been to boot camp yet, but I wouldn't worry about it.

  • if they slap you or anything? or no physical contact at all?

  • can the di's hit you now? or is that illegal?

  • @epicrussiansaxguy No they can not hit you.

  • Well Said

  • MCJROTC is bad enough im scared!! xD JK

  • I plan on enlisting into the marines next year, how can i get good at doing pull ups and push ups also improve on my mile runs. thank you

  • @joshman219 Here's the secret, do lots of pullups, pushups, and run a lot.

  • Does the Marine Corps build you up in order for you to become a Marine?

  • Everything he daid is EXACTLY what west coast marine corps recruit depot san diego is about..it fuckin sucks! But if you stay healthy and fuckin listen and do EXACTLY what your told..you wont be there linger than 3 months.i promise

  • What was your favorite DI game? My two favorites were the DI Hurricane and Mount Siribachi. The DI Hurricane involved getting everything you own, and doing a wagonwheel (like we do for laundry) and dropping our stuff along the way, and having 5 minutes to clean it all up. Mt. Siribachi involved piling all our shined up boots on the Quarterdeck, and the guide and squad leaders made to plant the guidon upside down into the pile of boots.
